We have been in business for over 27 years and are Nastec and NATE certified. We do over 20,000 service calls per year and about 50% of those are from repeat and referral business. A couple of reasons for that are: we GET OUT the SAME DAY and we have our own training facility where our techs are kept up to date on all the industry changes and not necessarily on your equipment. We are master plumbers, master electricians, and an HVAC company so if you have any needs in these areas let us know.
The repairman was personable and diagnosed and corrected the problem with my central a/c. My complaint is with the fee charged. For a 30 minute repair that required one part (a capacitor) the charge was $850. This seems outrageous to me. The previous week my garage door opener needed repair, a similar amount of technician time, and also a part. The fee was $225. A reasonable amount. My research on Angies List offered several flat fee service calls of around $500. I should have taken one of those. I called to talk to someone about the fee. Although I was told someone from the **management teams** would call me back, I received no call. I would recommend hiring a different company that cares.

If I could give a zero rating, I would. A tech by the name of Jaime came out to look at my A/C. I gave him my credit card to run the $74,95 trip charge. He took it to his truck and ran the charge, and emailed me a receipt for $74.95. Upon arriving home, I checked my credit card and he had run a charge for $375. I called Action Appliance first thing the next morning. I was informed they only showed an invoice for $74.95, and the woman said she would look into it. I called at the end of the day, and spoke to another woman. She said there was no note from the morning's call about the $375 charge, and she only showed the $74.95 charge. This morning the $375 dropped from a pending charge into a hard charge on my credit card. I called Action again. The self-identified manager, Cynthia, was very evasive, told me that they only had the invoice for the $74.95 and are waiting for the tech to talk to the accounting department about the $375. I asked to speak to someone in accounting, response was "she's not here" I asked why it wasn't removed yesterday, response was "she leaves early so she probably didn't see it before she left yesterday", to which I responded that I had called at 8am the day before. I asked to speak to a higher up manager, and she said no one is available. I asked for the address of where Action is located as I intend to have a fraud or theft complaint served for unauthorized charge on my credit card, and she told me to find the address on Google. I have disputed the charge through my credit card company. There is ABSOLUTELY no reason for them to have run a $375 charge on my card. Given the evasiveness, I can only assume this is intentional to see if I would have caught this fraudulent charge. Throughout the whole process, this company tried like anything to get me to give them my credit card info upfront over the phone before they even showed up. in addition, a replacement A/C was recommended. I asked for a quote in writing after he told me $6,900 and $552 for tax. He said he would email it. No mention of type of A/C unit, warranty info, etc. He puts a one liner on the $74.95 invoice that says "Condenser and evaporator need replacement quoted 7452.00". In my call the next morning, I asked for a written quote about size, brand, warranty, something more explanatory than the one liner. I was told it would be sent. During my second call at the end of the day yesterday, I was told Action does not give written quotes because "they lose business."

Action appliance made several mistakes along the path of fixing our laundry machine, the worst of which flooded a large area of our house. However, I do give them credit for sticking with it and, ultimately, making it right. Ultimately, Kelly deserves 5 stars and more, whereas his colleague that started the job brings the overall rating down. Also, be careful of their estimates--while they (and all) appliance repair companies hook you with the cost of the estimate visit being applied to the overall price, I am not confident that the price quoted was fair. This is a challenge for all appliance repair--not just Action Appliance. Fortunately, I didn't trust the $300+ quote to fix our outdoor faucet and I am glad I didn't... a plumber came by to take a look, fixed it, was gone in 5 minutes.
