 + -1 moreNick was recommended by a new neighbor who had used him. As a single mom I was on a tight budget and I told him I could do some of the work and grout/seal the tile myself to save money. He said by verbal quote, he could do the job for $2,500.00. And would do the limited tile job for an extra $250. He was there for 2 days on the floor and plumbing. He spent about 2 hours on the tiling. I'll be generous and say he worked 2-1/2 days(20 hours). Arrived on time. Had all the right tools. Turns out his price did not include any materials. Ouch! My own fault for not getting the contract ahead of time and reading it thoroughly. I think he intentionally took advantage of my naivity. The quality of the floor and plumbing work appears ok. The tile was thrown up in an hour and a half (no spacers, just eyeballed them). Look ok, not high quality. Kept telling me what a great deal I was getting. Paid $2,750 for only labor=$137.50 hr. For that much $ should've had working shower when he left!
Description of Work: Basement bathroom. Removed concrete in two small areas to relocate drains 2-3 feet, repiped drains, filled in concrete. Set shower pan, had to build one side wall, installed green board on three walls. Removed lav from the wall to be relocated by others later. Ran copper supply lines for supply lines for toilet and shower, installed shower valve and head. Strengthened some existing framing. Installed 12'' square tiles on shower walls to 7' height, caulked (not grouted).
