Description of Work: Paid for complete new furnace and a/c ($4.860). System was totally mis-sized by Shawn, the owner. Used an under-sized condensing coil (3-ton) and and oversized evaporative coil and furnace unit (5-ton). System freezes up daily during hot weather. No recourse through RMH&AC. No longer a Carrier Dealer and refuses to address the problem. Whole system will have to be replaced. The website for RMH&AC is no longer operational.

Description of Work: I did not hire this company. I had a second opinion done by another company and the furnace did NOT need to be replaced as RMH&AC said. It was repaired for a fraction of the replacement cost and works perfectly. I was just going to hire RMH&AC based on the fact they were on Angie's List, but decided to follow my gut and get that other opinion, time not wasted at all to do it and glad I did.

Description of Work: The first time I had this company come out they installed a new furnace. that was in December 2009. They were polite and neat. Are air conditioner appeared to have failed while I was out of town. The air conditioner had not failed, but was subject to abuse by my house sitter. Rocky Mountain serviced the air conditioner and check all connections for a very modest fee.

This was my first experience in using Angie's List and it was most rewarding. He gave me the damaged part and showed me why it failed. It's nice to have that trust. He also gave me some maintenance advice.

Description of Work: Shawn McClure (owner) and his crew are exceptional! That's all one really need to know; however, if you read on I will provide the details of our business transaction. I hired Shawn after speaking with 4 other principals or sales people at HVAC firms. In all but two meetings I came away with the feeling that I knew more than the person I was speaking with. I am a contractor, but not a HVAC specialist which means I can talk-the-talk but not always truly understand the technical aspects of the systems I finally bought through Shawn's firm. The system built by Shawn's company is as follows: A completely new duct system (9 supply registers and 4 cold air returns - the house we rebuilt is 1400sf), a new Goodman 2 Ton -13 Seer, R22 - A/C and a new Goodman 95.5% efficient, 2 stage, 69,000BTU Furnace with a large (can't remember the size) Variable Speed Blower. The quote of $6675 also included a pad, Honeywell Pro 8000 thermostat (just great), condensation pump, line set and installation. We moved very quickly through the renovation and Shawn's team followed as we needed them. When we had a slight problem (water under the furnace) Shawn responded himself on the very next day. Shawn and his team are exceptional. Rarely have I used subcontractors as good as he and his firm are. Considering price alone one should consider Rocky Mountain HVAC, add the fact that they are respectful, trustworthy, efficient, respond to service calls promptly and stick to the quote - makes them exceptional. I recommend them without reservation as one of the best HVAC contractors you are likely to find in Denver.
