Kevin's Kwality Appliance

I called him this morning to fix a broken dryer belt. He returned my call immediately and was at my house ah hour later. Delightful, professional, did a perfect job...and even gave me a few tips to keep other appliances running well. Highly recommend.

I knew going in that the dryer's motor was shot and that the heating element and a few other parts were failing as well. The cost to repair would have been at least as much as to purchase a new dryer. Kevin helped to verify that this was the case and helped me with the Home warranty People. Kevin as a businessman needed to charge me for his trip and his time of course. But Kevin helped me figure out how to order the parts for a rerigerater repair that I also needed, and gave me some very valuable advice on how to repair and maintain a couple of other major appliances that I will now be able to do myself. Kevin is very knowledgeable and his $124 service fee probably will save me hundreds of dollars in the next year or two. Thank you for a job well done and I will not hesitate to call Kevin again when I need to have some work done in the future.

Kevin was very responsive, quick to analyze the problem and prompt in his resolution of the problem.

Very well. It wasn't easy, because parts for this model aren't clearly specified or available. Kevin had to find them, drive diagonally across town to install them, then discovered that they were the wrong thing. He took them back and made another cross-town trip at his own expense without even mentioning how this affected his estimate and profit. (We paid him a little extra, though, because we felt bad about it.) This was Kevin's second or third time on this refrigerator. It needed a new compressor, and so on. There don't seem to be many people who want to work on Sub-Zeros, or who have the knowledge. Kevin knows the brand, thinks that it's the best, and is willing to work with the older models. He also knows the technology and was able to explain things to me so I could handle smaller issues myself. Kevin has always been responsive. I called him once on a Saturday evening, thinking that there might be an emergency related to a refrigerator leak. He called me back that night, from his fishing trip! Turns out that it wasn't a refrigerator leak -- I had innocently/ignorantly sprinkled cayenne pepper on the potatoes I was frying, and the effect was to pepper-spray the whole house. But I didn't know what it was, and we'd just had some fluid added to the system, so I thought maybe that was it. It was a very harsh component in the air, and I was just trying everything I could think of. Kevin was kind enough to return my call from out of town, on a Saturday night.

He's excellent. He's a nice guy and I think he's really smart. He always comes out. He's not the cheapest by any means but he always comes out and does it right the first time. He's done things that nobody else could figure out. I use him all the time.

Kevin knew what he was doing and was committed to fixing the problem in a reasonable amount of time and with the least amount of new parts. We will use him every time we need anything done. Communication was great. He showed up when he said he would and did what he said he would do!

I found a leaky hose on my dishwasher and left a message for Kevin at 8 am. By 11 am we had talked twice, the hose had been ordered, and we set a tentative appointment depending on when the hose actually arrived. A week later Kevin arrived and quickly installed the hose. The cost for hose and labor was $128. He also noticed some blocked holes on the washer arms and removed the debris. I was very happy with the service and price and would call him again or recommend him to others.

This guy is a strange bird. I called to have him go look at a dryer that stopped working at my rental property and he agreed to at first but then was hesitant because the tenants were not going to be able to pay him. I said well I can pay you with a credit card or mail him a check and he said..well ummm no, I don't really do billing, just not good at that. I said well quite frankly that can't be very good for your business, he said yeah I know. You might wanna just call someone else, yeah ok I will do that... Seriously! Don't waste your time with this one...

He saved us hundreds of dollars, if not thousands (no other service would help us, and they all suggested we just buy a new stove, which we could not afford to do). We were able to disassemble the stove, remove the mouse, disinfect it completely, and it is fine now. He spent a good 30 minutes on the phone discussing it with me. Thank you, Kevin!

Kevin took the machine apart, tested all of the circuits and boards and isolated the problem. He had a lot of parts with him but, in the end he didn't need them. The dryer had blown a fuse caused by heat build up due to a clogged vent. My bad. He replaced the fuse, cleaned and lubed the inside of the machine and cleared some of the vent. Most of the vent is under the house in the crawl space and I told him I'd take care of that part. He was here for three hours and could have charged me a ton more then he did. I'm happy to know Kevin and will call him in the future as I have other issues.

He came out twice to our house for the repairs as the items broke at different times. He showed up when he said he would and was professional in both cases. Haven't had any issues with either item since they were fixed.

Called Kevin on Monday night and he came over late morning on Tuesday. I was planning on having to buy a new dryer but Kevin found the problem and replaced a minor part. A service call and the idler pulley for 142.00. Thanks for being a honest and knowledgeable professional. We will continue using Kevin for our future appliance repair needs.

I called him on Friday regarding repairing my 15-year old Kitchenaid refrigerator, and he offered a 9:00 a.m. visit on Saturday and asked for the the model # of the 'fridge.. He showed-up on time, was extremely professional and pleasant, fixed the 'fridge and cleaned-up and left no trace of his work. Good work, pleasant guy, very fair price. Thanks.

Kevin was very professional and personable. He knows what he is doing and got out to our house very quickly.

I called Kevin on a Sunday because my washing machine was leaking. He came over quickly and determined the problem. Before he came over, he let me know that he may or may not have the part (which would impact if he could fix it that day.) He had to order the part, but he kept me updated about the process and came back the next day to complete the repair. During the repair, Kevin provided me with useful information about how to care for my appliances and agreed to fix an additional issue I had (with fridge.) His work was reasonably priced, he was timely, and he is trustworthy. I recommend him and will use him again.

I got him through Angie's List. He did say what he was going to do. He was very friendly. It took a long time for him to fix it. He had to wait for parts and I think somebody got sick. It was a long time until the job was completed, but he did complete the job and it's been working fine.

Kevin was quick to respond, and quick to provide service. Although I personally disagree with the concept of paying for "trip fees" I was willing to pay due to the urgency of the need (laundry was piling up, and would need to go to a laundromat soon, because it had been a week since we have done laundry). Kevin was courteous and knowledgeable - seemed to quickly resolve the problem and get our dryer back in good working condition. Would certainly consider using Kevin again!

He gave me great tips on gas stove and gas dryer and hopefully they will work --- great to talk to and helpful.

I sent a message through the Angies List system on 1/7/13 and got a reply from the provider that he would call me the next morning. It it now 3 days later and he never called.

All were unable to provide the service including Kevin's. However, he was the only provider that informed us we could turn the gas off to the cooktop from under the unit until we were able to get an appt. We were headed out of town early the next morning and had to do something. We were very happy to know that we didn't have to worry the entire time we were out of town! I would call Kevin's again for any appliance repairs! I call that customer service.

The heat on our furnace went out Saturday night, and we called a few places but couldn't get anyone out to look at it. Average emergency call price was $150 just to come out, plus the actual work. I went down the list on Angie's and came to Kevin - the previous reviews mentioned how he tried to help people over the phone for minor repairs first and his care of customers, so I called. Kevin absolutely cares about his clients! He spent a long time on the phone with me trying to get my furnace going again, even looking at pictures and video I sent. He determined that the heat limiter was tripped but we couldn't get it to reset over the phone. He did have to come out, and he was fast and responsive. He showed me where he fixed the problem and explained why it happened and how to prevent it in the future. He even noticed my washer was unbalanced in the same room as the furnace and asked if he could fix it (no charge!). He moved it and adjusted the legs - the floor slopes in the laundry room and the legs weren't set for it. Kevin said he tries to advise all of his customers like his mother. If he wouldn't suggest a repair or action to mom, he's not going to tell you to do it either. I really believe him! I will definitely hire him again and recommend him.

Kevin left my home saying he would do a bit of research to try and come up with a solution to my oven problem because the testing was inconclusive and parts were "no longer available'. Well, I received an email from Kevin giving me a proposed solution, which was as easy as pushing the selection buttons in a correct sequence. He had found the solution on another website, fixya.com, and suggested I try it. So far, it looks like it's working !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Kevin also gave me a low cost suggestion I could pursue myself on a worn panel on my dishwasher. What an incredibly knowledgeable, honest, helpful person!!!! I would hire Kevin for any appliance needs of mine that come up in the future. It was clear he knows electronics, how to test the appliances, etc... and mentioned he has 30 years experience. He's very low key and matter of fact in sharing information and his background. Also, the reason the $ is not filled in is because I still have to pay him. He deferred the charges while he figured out what would be possible in terms of my oven. Normally, I believe there's a visit charge and then an hourly rate (plus whatever parts cost etc..) which I found to be in the neighborhood of other repairman's rates/charges -- ask so you get the specifics. I received Kevin's name from someone who was an Angie's list member, and I was so happy with Kevin's service that I joined Angie's list to write this review.

I called Kevin and he listened to my description of the noise my clothes dryer was making. He then asked me if I was handy at all and told me how to get in and check the motor inlet for the problem he suspected. He was correct, and I fixed it myselt. Very helpful!!!

Kevin did a outstanding job. We called him on a Friday about the washer repair and he said he'd try to come to our house on Saturday morning (since we didn't want to go too long without our washer). He showed up Saturday morning and got right to work repairing our washer. He was able to clean out the clogged material in the washer and get it working again fairly quickly. Then he cleaned out the interior of the lent box on our dryer (which we had not cleaned out...ever). Once he finished working on the washer and dryer (and since he did a good job on those) we asked him to look at our freezer. The ice maker had been producing ice on an inconsistent basis (it was never full). Kevin quickly diagnosed the problem... The underside of the freezer needed to be cleaned (because it was dirty / dusty the freezer's cooling system wasn't working properly; therefore, the ice maker was working sporadically). Kevin quickly and efficiently cleaned out the underside of the freezer. Each of the appliances Kevin worked on is running quite well. We are very pleased with the work Kevin did.
