Kevin's Kwality Appliance

We read a recent Angie's List article that recommended using a handyman instead of a licensed electrician or specialist. Kevin came prepared with the right dryer part and then installed a couple of outdoor lights. The squeaky dryer is now working beautifully and we are pleased with the lights. We feel that we would have paid quite a bit more if we had hired two different companies to handle these two projects.

I called Kevin and explained the problems with the washer and dryer with him over the phone. He asked me the make and model number of the appliances. He seemed to be very knowledgeable about the problems and the parts required to correct the issues. Kevin said the parts were not available locally so they had to be ordered. He called us to inform us that the parts were in and we scheduled a time for the repair. I explained to him that our water heater was being replaced at the same time and that I didn't want the two services being in the way of each other. He said he could work around the water heater service people, which he did. He was able to correct the problems at what I thought was a reasonable price. I would call on Kevin again for other large appliance repairs.

Kevin came to our house to fix our dryer. He checked the vents, asked questions, did a dryer test. He told me he suspected the the thermistor. He told me to dry towels on the timed setting, if they dried in a reasonable time, it would be the thermistor. He told me to call him and let him know the results. The towels dried well and I called him back. He said he would order the part and get back in touch with me. I never heard from him again. He was genial, but there was no follow up. We just fell through the cracks. Update: Kevin called back (I assume after reading the review). He left a message apologizing and offered to install the thermistor for the price of the part. Sometimes mistakes happen. I am glad he called back to touch base.

After running the dishwasher, thought it sounded like a pump motor problem, but took the time to investigate further and found that the pump discharge cover had broken so that part of it was loose and producing the noise. Returned the next day with a new part and replaced it. Also cleaned the washer arm, the filters, and beneath the machine, which, along with his taking the time to make the correct repair(!), I really appreciated.

I called Kevin because my washing machine had stopped working. After describing the issue and telling him what kind of washer it was, he said he'd do a little research and call me back. A short time later, Kevin called and said he felt like he knew what the problem was. He said he could come out and fix it, told me how much it would cost, and then he told me that it was a pretty simple repair and he would be glad to tell me how to fix it myself. He explained how to remove and clean out my washing machine pump, and even told me where to buy a new one if the pump was broken (including giving me the phone number of the parts place). Using Kevin's instructions, my husband was able to fix the washing machine. Kevin's help showed true professionalism, and I won't hesitate to call him in the future!

He did a good job and had to come a few times to fix the issue, but he figured it out. He was very friendly in service

I contacted Kevin just prior to Thanksgiving for the repair/replacement of the icemaker but decided perhaps after the holiday was a better time for me. I advised Kevin of the model & serial number of my frig and he arrived with a icemaker replacement if it was needed. (I like that he arrived with a replacement part so I didn't have to wait for a part) We discussed what had happened and he did some troubleshooting and determined the best course of action was replacement of the icemaker. Kevin also advised the freezer section of the frig was set too cold which caused the icemaker to freeze up thus causing the problem. It was also discovered the removeable ice bucket was frozen on the door which he worked to remove and was dried out before replacement.

Kevin came right over when I called. He diagnosed the problem and replaced a bad relay from his parts stock. Unfortunately, a fan motor was also burned out and had to be ordered. Just as soon as it came in, Kevin called, came right over and got my refrigerator back in service.

I have a double oven and the lower oven was not working. I called Kevin to have it repaired. He was quick to resond and professional on the phone but explained to me that he is no longer dealing with double ovens due to the size.

He was excellent, he got here when he said and he would and didn't try to upsell me things I didn't need. He just fixed what was broken and I would recommend him to others!

Strange. That is the best word to describe my experience. I've been trying to find someone to look at my free standing AC unit. When I called Kevin he said he could take a look at my three units and let me know if they were worth fixing. I realize these units aren't made to be repaired. But, I wanted to be certain before I had them picked up for recycling. The units are stored at my grooming salon in a breezeway behind the store. I didn't know that he was going to use my salon as a repair shop. I thought he would take them with him and let me know if they were worth repairing. So, his working conditions were less than optimal. It was noisy and didn't have an electrical outlet. I had to supply an extension cord and a work surface. I checked in on his progress in between my clients. Then he was gone. Kevin didn't say anything to me. He just left. I thought that was very strange behavior. He didn't leave me a bill or let me know what he found. I had to call him to find out that they were beyond repair and that my bill was $58. I got his address and sent him a check. Almost 4 weeks later my check was still not cashed. I called Kevin again; he told me he never got the check. I thought that was strange that he didn't receive the check and he didn't contact me to ask me about it It cost me $35 to stop payment on the first check and I sent another $58 check. He was unprofessional and the experience was too weird to repeat. I don't know how to gauge his work and his unprofessional departure cost me.

Kevin answers his phone promptly and has helped me twice now without charging a cent. He is incredibly generous with his time and advice. I recommend him highly!

Perfect from start to finish.

Problem promptly diagnosed, parts available and in truck, repairs took less than an hour. Kevin called me back the evening before and got the make and model of my refrigerator. After describing the problem over the phone, he made a tentative diagnosis and made sure that he had the parts with him on the service call. Refrigerator/freezer has worked great ever since.

I called to say my washer was broken, asked if he could make it the next day. He said he could, and he did, arrived on time as agreed, and he fixed it. Also offered useful advice while he was here, on some other issues around the house, and repaired the dryer that had some electrical problems. Would call him again in a heartbeat.

Kevin was thorough, professional and quickly repaired the problem as well as gave me suggestions for my other appliances. I will definitely use him again. He is now my official repair guy.

Since i never received a return phone call, it obviously did not go well. I would not call this service provider again.

I was having an issue with a dishwasher. Kevin was very responsive and walked me through the steps I needed to take. I indicated I would be willing to pay for his service and he said it was a simple issue and he didn't want to charge me for something I could do myself

After finding this highly rated appliance repair business on Angie's List, I called and described in a telephone message the symptoms of a malfunctioning built-in microwave. My call was never returned.

Although Kevin was delayed by a flat tire, he called to let me know what the problem was. When he arrived, he repaired my washing machine quickly. Although he had to work in cramped quarters with very poor lighting, he worked very efficiently. I was very happy that he had no problems fixing a mchine as old as mine.

I called Kevin on 7/16/2012 and he answered his phone immediately. He asked me several questions about the refrigerator; including having me open and look in the freezer to see if there was a lot of ice at the back. He said he would be on his way to me after finishing his current job. Kevin is extremely knowledgeable, careful, mindful and trustworthy. I found him interesting...he's quite a talker! He came back the next day with the control board and installed it. Price was $353.00 ($168.00 of which was the control board). While here, he took a look at the air conditioner and also the refrigerator we had moved with us. He gave me good advice on both. I'm definately calling him if I need anything else fixed!

Very well. Did same day repair. Very professional. He suggested a fix I could try to save me his cost, Turned out that didn't work but he tried to save cost.

Kevin called back immediately and then showed up the next day when the delivery arrived. He installed the dishwasher with no problem and was very professional and prompt. He also checked out all of my other appliances to make sure they were in working condition(new home for me). I would definitely call Kevin again for any appliance issues.

Kevin was very professional and courteous during the initial call for service. He worked with me on the best time to come out and arrived on time. He quickly assessed the issue and fixed the leak in my swamp cooler. He also rerouted the water line so it was attached to an outside water source versus running through the house. I was very happy with the service.
