I have left messages with Just Sprinklers repeatedly and they will not call me back. I desperately need my sprinkler system turned on since my grass is burning out. I am looking for a good sprinkler company and probably would have given them all my business if they would have treated me with respect. I am surprised that they have a good rating with Angie's list. This is my first experience with Angie's list and it didn't go well.

We had a new concrete patio installed in our backyard, which went right through where our sprinklers were routed. Just Sprinklers came out, identified where they'd need to route the sprinklers to have everything connected and water spraying all the trees and grass and not the new patio. They also identified where our sprinkler system had not been properly shut down the winter before by another contractor, and showed us the proper way it should have been done. Lastly, they helped us repair a leak in our sprinkler system that had caused us to flood a nearby field (and get a huge water bill!). Just sprinklers was prompt, efficient and showed a great attention to detail. This wasn't a standard install or winterization service but a complete re-routing of our system and they did a great job!

Service was prompts and the staff was very knowledgeable. Offered advice on fertilizer for a troubled area; recommendation worked and lawn grew back green and without issues. Nice family business, dependable and reliable with compeitive prices. Plan to use them again for any lawn service needs.

First off, they were an hour and a half late for our appointment to do an estimate. After they did come, it took them almost a week to send me the bid. Then, when I agreed to have them do the work, they scheduled the day for July 20th. A day or two before they were supposed to come, they called and said they "meant to schedue it for the 25th". When I told them I was going out of town on the 25th (and therefor could not change dates with short notice), they agreed to stick to the 20th, and said they'd be there between 9am and 11am. They also told me I could pay with my American Express. I took the entire day off of work, waiting for them to arrive that morning (which they didn't), and finally, I had to leave my house around 2:30. They showed up after I left. When I expressed frustration about taking off from work to wait for them all day, rather than be apologetic, they said they were helping ME out by sqeezing me in on a day I "wasn't scheduled". I was very angry to hear this, but said I'd be heading back home later to pay them. They then told me they couldn't do the main work because there were no locator markings (they said they put in a call for this to be done, but it appears noone showed up). While they were at the house, they did some backflow work, but were unable to do the main work. They then said they'd be back in the morning (I was told "9:30"). By 10:00, when they still hadnt shown up, I was not about to take more time off of work waiting, so I called them to let them know I could not wait any longer. They showed up later that morning, after I left. When I spoke to them again, they said they STILL could not do any of the work because there were no locator marks, despite the "call" they put in. I was very upset, but everytime I'd mention my frustration with taking time off work to wait for them, they'd say again that they were "sqeezing me in" (as if I should be grateful that they showed up at all). I no longer wanted to do business with them,but I didn't want to say that directly. I simply told them that the price of the work they quoted me (work they hadn't done) was higher than I thought (I had to take into account the full day I missed of work off the clock when they showed up several hours late). I ended up paying them for the backflow work, but would never do business with them again.

In answer to this person's complaint and rating we did not give a specific time we gave a window of time and they did arrive within the window of time and spent two hours discussing an estimate and repair work with her on this visit we did do work for free we replaced several nozzles for coverage and adjusted heads. From the moment the technicians arrived she complained nonstop it was apparent that she had gotten burned by another company and was bent on making our company pay for it after having to listen to how she was taken advantage of by another company the member kept referring to the fact that the install for the front yard she wanted should only cost $800.00 and was told that it would not be that inexpensive. The member was indecisive throughout the discussion for the estimate and the technician had to make the decision about what heads and direction we would install the new line and heads. We also explained at the time of the estimate that we were very busy as this is our busy time of year and would get this estimate to her by the end of the week and we did so but not without constant complaining from this person to be honest we were a little reluctant because of the continued way she complained but gave her the benefit of the doubt. As for the scheduling again she said she had a specific appointment when it was scheduled we did leave a message to see if the 20th would work but explained we had back to back jobs and would only be starting when we spoke with her we were negotiating a day and time we did try to schedule for the 25th and 26th of July which was when we could give exclusive attention to the job she could not do those days as she was out of town and stated the job should only take us a day and proceeds to be irritated so we suggested we would talk with the technician who originally gave the bid and find out if we could fit her in trying to accommodate her . The member knew that we had back to back installs including her work to be done her statement was this is good because I have a flexible schedule and work from home! If we could work with her that would be good she also was insistent about paying by credit card so we worked to get credit card service from our bank. We did tell her we did not take credit cards also when asked for a portion down as good faith received a concern about her being taken advantage of and she had to pay by credit card etc Our disclaimers about down and expectations are all clearly stated on our invoices and Estimate sheet we gave her. The day of July 20th we were still finishing up an install we kept in constant contact with her the day of the 20th the window was between 9-12 unfortunately the previous job we had major issues that took longer than usual she was explained all of this had no problem with us being able to meet between 1-3 to get a signature and credit card as previously discussed to begin work. We arrived at 2:30pm and conveniently after pre-arranging this she had to leave before we got there. I spoke with her on the phone to get a verbal ok to change out the backflow kit standing in front of her house also we were waiting on a locate for this property as we would be pulling pipe for a new line and sprinkler heads as of Friday at 2:30pm we had no confirmation from the locate company explained all this to the member and we would start on Saturday if possible. The member seem to have many questions about the estimate and kept referring to a price that was half the price of the estimate since there seem to be so many questions and issues and inconsistency in her communication with us we felt the technician who gave her the estimate would meet and discuss the job again with her and meet around 9 maybe 9:30am Saturday she never mentioned having to leave. My technician arrived at 9:40 and again conveniently she had to leave before we arrived she called and explained this still no signed invoice or payment down or meeting occurred at this point there was a discussion with the Owner and the technician and a decision was made no continued work would be done until they meet with her and an invoice signed and credit card presented we wanted to make sure everyone was on the same page when the technician finally spoke with her by phone she was under the impression the job was half the amount than what was clearly stated on the Estimate and felt the estimate was high and complained about it after scheduling and going through all of the planning and preparation for the job then proceeds to complain about the back flow price and that she could do the job herself for less again continued to complain and back track any items that were discussed and was stating she was not sure if she wanted the work done. This was the concern of the technician in the beginning because she was so indecisive about the whole process. She also was very stern about starting the job without a signed contract and her not being present this is not our normal practice. At this point we felt that she was not corporative and flexible as she stated she would be and felt it was in our best interest to just ask for the payment for the backflow which she complained very highly about and said she would put a check in the mail box. We did pick a payment up. The next Monday morning we were threatened by text message with stop payment of the check this was because she wanted the locate number which we do not give out because the locate was requested under our business name and we are not reliable as we were not performing the work. The member gave us no time to call or answer the text msg’s. When we called her back we were screamed at uncontrollably by her on two separate phone calls and threatened; the technician called and spoke with her about the payment she was putting stop payment on the tech as well received screaming and threats along with a statement about how she was going to ruin our business on Angie’s List etc. The owner felt it was best to let her do whatever since we were not doing any work for her no partial payment was received or no signature for work had been signed we would answer the complaint in detail expressing our concern at the treatment we received for just trying to accommodate and do the right by the customer. We feel our company has many satisfied and Great Customers and that this unfortunate experience with someone who did not read the estimate or communicate expectations before work was scheduled or started. Late in the Day she left a message that the stop payment was reversed.

The sprinkler valves were old and leaking. The controller was obsolete and needed replacement. Work was completed according to the estimate. Other contractors have tried to sell me more than I needed and it was refreshing to give me what I needed without high pressure sales. I am very pleased with this contractor and will use them for my future landscaping and sprinkler system work. Thank you for the fertilizer recommendation!

Excellent. She was prompt and came when scheduled. The tech performed the service quickly, made sure she had all equipment needed, checked the sprinkler heads and check out both zones. All in all it took about 15 minutes. I even asked to be put on their list for spring turn on.

I received a live person when calling, and they were able to set up a date that worked for me. A very nice couple (owner's daughter) came out, and went over the system and issues with me. They promised to put together a quote and email it over. The owner's daughter even said she would follow up with me to make sure I received the estimate. I never received an email or a call. Very nice couple, but there was no follow-through. As a result, we installed a new system with another company.

I called Just Sprinklers to get an estimate to repair a leak at the main valve that was diagnosed by another contractor, and, boy, am I glad I did. I had taken a day off work because I was led to believe this was a serious problem causing constant running of water 5 ft. underground. I called early in the morning and Stephen Williams and his assistant showed up in just a few hours. Within minutes of arriving, Stephen “fixed” the leak by fully turning the valve on. I other guy wanted to dig up my front yard and charge me $1,848.25 to make a repair that wasn’t even necessary. The silver lining to having almost been taken to the cleaners by the disreputable contractor, which, by the way I was referred to by servicemagic.com, is that I’ve found Just Sprinklers (on Angie’s List). I definitely will use them for all my future system maintenance and repairs.

The bottom line here is that I paid $200 and wasted my time for nothing.
Description of Work: They initially came out for $45 to check my sprinkler system. They said they could not do the re-wiring at that time so they came back out and charged me another $145 to do the work. I ended up re-doing the wiring and called them to make another appointment for today. I rearranged my work scheduled to accommodate the appointment time and told them of this when I set the appointment. They called and said they would be late.

THE RECEPTIONIST CALLED TO LET THE CUSTOMER KNOW THE TECHNICIAN WAS RUNNING LATE AND WAS GOING TO OFFER AN ALTERNATE APPT BECAUSE WE UNDERSTOOD THE CUSTOMER HAD A SCHEDULE ISSUE, BUT WAS HUNG UP ON AFTER BEING GREETED WITH PROFANITY. IF THE CUSTOMER WOULD HAVE GIVEN THE RECEPTIONIST A CHANCE THE TECHNICIAN WAS WILLING TO DO A SATURDAY APPT AT NO EXTRA CHARGE, BUT WAS NOT ABLE TO RELAY THIS THROUGH ALL OF THE BAD WORDS BEFORE CUSTOMER HUNG UP. IT IS TOO BAD THE WORK WORLD IS NOT PERFECT FOR EVERYONE’S TIME TABLE IN THE SERVICE FIELD YOU TRY TO PLAN BUT THINGS DO NOT ALWAYS PAN OUT. THE TECHNICIAN RE-WIRED WHAT WAS IN THE VALVE BOX ON THE FIRST APPOINTMENT AND ONLY CHARGED THE CUSTOMER $45.00 BECAUSE THE TECHNICIAN WAS RETURNING TO DO OTHER WORK TO RUN A COMMON AND MAIN WIRE TO THE CLOCK FROM THE BACK FLOW TO A VALVE BOX AND CHARGED A REASONABLE RATE OF $140. THE WIRING WAS TESTED AND DID WORK WHILE THE TECHNICIANS WERE THERE. THE THIRD VISIT WAS NEVER COMMUNICATED DUE TO THE PROFANITY. WE DID NOT GET A CLEAR PICTURE OF WHAT THE PROBLEM WAS BECAUSE THE RECEPTIONIST WAS NOT GIVEN A CHANCE, JUST BAD WORDS. THE WHOLE REASON FOR CALLING THE CUSTOMER AND LETTING THE CUSTOMER KNOW THAT THEY WOULD BE LATE WAS BECAUSE THE CUSTOMER INSISTED HE HAD TO LEAVE AT A CERTAIN TIME. SORRY FOR THE INCONVENIENCE.

I was very pleased. Kristen spent a lot of time making sure the system was working to my satisfaction.
Description of Work: I called to request a checkout of all my sprinkler heads and a probable leak in one of the lines. Two service techs came by at the requested time and thoroughly checked the system. They located the source of the leak and fixed it. Total time was less than an hour.

He submitted an estimate for repairs. It was approved. The work was done, however, the sprinklers needed further repairs to function. The system wasn't tested on leaving; the tenant called to say they weren't working. They came back to fix and demanded further payment. In fact, he immediately sicced his lawyer on me when I told him that I shouldn't have to pay more. Seems like he makes a habit of overcharging.

Steve came to my house on Memorial Day to give me an estimate on the work. Since the sprinklers did not work while I was out of town, my yard was VERY dry. He found the problem quickly and set an appointment for Wednesday to do the work. He also recommended some fertilizer to bring the yard back quickly. He was very polite and professional and did a very good job. I would recommend him highly!
