DENVER DECKS

Denver Decks was a wonderful company. They were right in line, market appropriate and very responsive. Has great follow-ups and is a great enough company.

See above report. I am not into receiving someone's extreme religious views when I am searching for a company to do work for me.

Denver Decks was excellent and I'm very pleased with my deck. They were very professional, seemed trustworthy, and knew what they were doing. The job took a little bit longer but there were some things they had to deal with and the outcome was great. The owner was prompt and went over some things pretty quickly. They didn't go over the price of what they estimated. I would absolutely use Denver Decks again in the future.

I have called numerous times for over 2 weeks and left day and night phone numbers for a return call and cannot even get a call back to inform me that they are too busy. I wanted to use them because of their high rating so at least they could call back and decline.

Phil was extremely professional and knowledgable. Unfortunately his price came in a bit over our budget so we chose another contractor.

Denver Decks did a good job. Very professional. They outsourced part of the job that didn't go as planned but they made it right and had it fixed. It was mostly the gutter area that needed some rework. We're very happy with the results.

They did a very nice job, and I was impressed with them. They were very easy to get a hold of. I didn't have a single problem with the inspection. I am planning on putting a new deck in my back yard, and I plan on using them again.

Phillip, gave me several bids. 1) was to replace existing support rafters, that were rotting or 2 ) to replace entire decking. I really appreciated him giving me these options. He keep me informed of when the work would be done, the workers were right on time, very professional and courteous. I was really pleased with the work performed. Cleanup was great. I specially appreciated Philllip explained to me why the support rafters were rotting & what they would do with the new rafters to prevent this from occurring again. (no painting) I was real nervous about the weight of the decking & rod iron that was initially installed with a crane. They supported the deck & rod iron before any work was performed & it never moved!!! This is why I joined Angies List to get work done by professionals.

Phil is very professional and his estimate was accurate. We had a vision of what we wanted and it really came true. Phil's crew were great to work with, and I wouldn't think twice before hiring them again (when needed).

Everything went wonderful. We had no complaints at all.

Overall, we had an excellent experience with both Philip of Denver Decks and Mike. Philip obviously had lots of design experience and experience working with HOAs and county building inspectors. The weather changed from warm to very cold and back to warm while Mike was working.

The crew was very professional and did a great job.

I have only positive things to say about them because they did a very good job. They are punctual and lay out the plans so that you can read them and go over any questions that you might have. They even moved their timeline up so as to not trouble some other contractors getting things done. They actually moved theirs up and got it done promptly. I don't have anything to say but good things. The price was pretty good. I would recommend them to anybody who called asking for references. I had also checked out several of their references before I used their service.

Two thumbs high up for Denver Decks! These folks are ethical and skilled - a refreshing combination. Phillip Tussing spent a great deal of time educating us on decking materials and design issues while insuring our multiple requests for information, comparisons and costs were met with respect and thoroughness. All of the professionals at Denver Decks are just that – professional: highly skilled, knowledgeable, and committed to quality work. On top of all of this, we love our deck.

They had a good consultative approach, and the work went well. The contractor who was doing the work for Denver Decks was good and accommodating. The price seemed like it was kind of high. I would use them again in the future if necessary.

The quote they have given me came over my budget. They showed up on time and I did not have any problem with them.

Phil, the owner, handled all from quote, to permit with the city, to supervision of very professional workers. They installed a Timbertech porch with hidden fasterers, This is a front porch with wide steps, hand rail, posts and uprights. They completed the job from demo to final permit without damaging any of the landscaping next to the porch and cleaned up all the debris. We have contracted with them to repair the deck in the back of the house and bring up to code as the original contractor had not.

Comments Though the final results are acceptable, this was not a happy experience, and in my view Denver Decks did not do a first rate job. A large portion of the stamped concrete was so poorly done (scrapes and depressions in the surface) that it we had it broken out and done over. Then there were problems getting the new portion's surface colors to match the earlier pour. They did fix their mistakes, but through it all they seemed to depend on us to do the sort of quality inspections they themselves should have done as part of their craft. We are still left with several boot-prints in the finished surface. Cleanup was so-so, caulking was sloppy, and a rain spout had been bent where they leaned their forms.

Overall, we are very happy with the results on our concrete patio. We chose Denver Decks because out of the 4 contractors that came out to bid on the work, Phillip was the only one that genuinely seemed to be concerned with our needs (drainage issues) and getting the job done right the first time. He also had suggestions on ways to do the job differently so that the end product was better, which none of the other contractors brought to the table. However, you need to be aware that Denver Decks does not do the work of pouring/installing the concrete patio...they use subcontracors. While the subcontractors were fantastic and knew what they were doing, we were disappointed in two areas: (1) the fact that we were never told that somebody else would be doing the work. When we called Denver Decks about our concern, Phillip promptly made a visit out to our house to discuss the issues and put our concerns to rest stating that he had used the same subs for years and had never had any issues. (2) the fact that Phillip never checked on the final product and instead of stopping by to find out if we were satisfied, had the subcontractor request payment at conclusion of the project. To reiterate, we are happy with the end result and would not have changed the selection of Denver Decks, but would have appreciated more communication and more follow up from Denver Decks. If we were to install a wood deck in the future, Phillip and Denver Decks would be the first, and probably only call.

The work was very professionally done; well and promptly. They were diligent and efficient, and cleaned up after themselves. They listened carefully to our questions and gave us understandable answers and suggestions. We love their layout for the pergola and their styling motif. The results are a real ‘plus’ for our home. The price seemed high compared to earlier estimates we had gotten, though the scope had been expanded.

Phillip was very responsive and provided me with some great ideas for re-doing my deck and adding shade. I'm sure he does great work. However, the price quotes was well above what we are willing to put into our home now. That is not to say it was not fair, but it was out of the ballpark. My recommendation would be to have him better qualify his prospects for budget, etc., but overall it was a good experience.

Denver Decks provided the estimate and completed the work without delays and when they said they would. The original foundation was in an awkward place right next to a concrete porch, basement wall and window well and required a lot of hand digging and work in close quarters. They came up with an alternative solution to the old foundation that made sense and worked well in the tight working conditions. The repairs have been complete for almost a year and I haven't had any additional settling or problems at all. They did a great job of explaining exactly what they were doing. The cleanup after the job was complete was very thorough.

My deck was designed and installed by a contractor other than Denver Decks and I am extremely pleased with the outcome.

It looks amazing! It's without question the nicest deck in the neighborhood. Because we back up to greenspace and a park our deck is the first thing you see when looking at the back of our house. We had several bids from other deck companies and Denver Decks bid came in the highest, but we feel like we got our money's worth because the quality is excellent. They went above and beyond with the way the deck is constructed and the level of detail that they put into it. It took them almost two weeks to complete our 12' x 20' deck. When Phillip, the owner, told me it would take that long, I was surprised, but now I understand why it took that much time. I would say they are arguably the best deck company in the Denver metro area. I have no doubt that our deck will still be in great shape in 30 or 40 years. And, we don't have to do a thing to maintain it. I would absolutely use them again, and we will be calling them in the future to install a pergola over the deck when we can save up enough money to do so.
