The job went very well. I interviewed 3 roofing contractors and selected Colo Roofing because the owner, Severen Pedersen, was the most thorough in assessing my old roof and seemed the most knowledgeable about the local building codes (another contractor provided incorrect information and a greatly inflated estimate for work that would not have met code). Severen worked effectively with my insurance adjuster. The job was scheduled on the earliest date my work schedule allowed. When severe weather arose, Severen contacted me to reschedule according to my availability one week later. I was disappointed that the materials supplier delivered all of the materials anyway despite the impending severe weather and did not cover the large pile of wood sheathing, leaving it exposed to heavy rain for several hours. Severen responded in a timely manner to my concern and addressed the issue. On the morning of the job, a large trailer was delivered to my driveway at 6:30 and an approximately 10 man roofing crew arrived soon after. Colo Roofing contracts with a company that provides the crews. I was very impressed with their skills and work ethic. This was clearly an experienced crew that took pride in doing a quality job. They worked non-stop for over 9 hours until the job was done and they had thoroughly cleaned up the roof and yard, including picking up all stray nails. The city inspector was scheduled for the next day and passed the roof with no concerns. Severen was a pleasure to work with. He was very personable and professional. I appreciated his flexibility in scheduling meetings to accommodate my work schedule. He answered all of my questions in detail and I appreciated that he was never dismissive of my concerns, despite my lack of knowledge about roofing issues. He was on site for most of the day of the installation to oversee the crew's work and pick up any small tools/materials they needed to keep the job moving without interruption. The new roof looks terrific. I would definitely recommend Colo Roofing and would use them again.
Description of Work: Replaced roof: removed 3 layers of existing shingles, installed sheathing overlay, installed new drip edge, ice & water shield and synthetic felt, installed new impact resistant shingles (Corning Duration Storm), replaced several vents and pipe jacks, added 3 additional vents, painted all fixtures to match roof.

Severen was great - he came over the day after I called even though he couldn't understand me due to my poor phone connection. He found the problem where the leak was and fixed it right away, inspected my areas of concern and provided some suggestions for improvements when the roof is replaced, and was honest about the condition of the roof. I really appreciated it and I will be calling him when I replace the roof next year.

Severen Pedersen (the owner) answered my call in person and came right out right away to inspect my roof that had been damaged in the June storm last year (2012). I had received quotes at the time ranging from $9000 to $15000 previously and was in total confusion until I looked up roofers on Angie's List and saw that he has always had excellent reviews. Severen gave me a great price in a timely manner and once I signed the contract his crew came out in just a few days time and completed the roof in one days time! You could not even tell that they had been there (except for the beautiful new roof) because they did such a good clean up job. Severen was in constant communication with me throughout the process so I always knew what was going on, who was coming and when and they were right on time and very professional. I would highly recommend Severen for any roofing needs - he is a great guy who you can trust and he and his crew did an excellent job!

I called Severen after seeing reviews on Angie's list, to check out a current leak in my sunroom and to take a look at our roof. We had recent leakage from a rain in a sunroom window where the roof and window meet, and other random roof issues. We had been told by another roofer we needed to replace the entire roof and it was basically a horrible roof and needed replacement ASAP (not a roofer found on Angie's list). After I called Severen, he was very friendly and courteous and was at my house right away to check it out. He told me we don't, in fact, need a new roof and that the leak was in fact from our skylights. The other items, Severen told us were cosmetic and didn't mean we had a "bad" roof, and we didn't need to spend money on a new roof. He was knowledgable, friendly, honest, and right after he left I put his card on my fridge because I'll definitely be calling him SHOULD we need anything done on our roof in the future! He knew what he was talking about and was very honest and nice to talk to. I highly recommend him.

Please note that I did not perform any inspection and/or tile repair for this customer. I'm assuming she has crossed my company name with another contractor. I make this note so consumers know that I currently do not have a crew available to perform tile roof installations and/or repairs. Sincerely, Severen Pedersen - Owner Colo Roofing, LLC

I called Colo Roofing based on the positive reviews on Angie's List, to try to find a leak in our roof that is very occasional (once a year or less). Severen (the owner) was very responsive when I called and worked with my schedule to make an appointment for later that week. He arrived at our house right at the scheduled time, and when I showed him the location of the leak in the interior, he explained that it could be coming from various places. He went up on the roof and after spending some time looking around, said he was not certain he could pinpoint the source. So, he pointed out the most likely suspects (joints in the flashing), caulked them, and said to call him if we had further problems. Since he was not 100% sure he had fixed the leak and only needed to use a tube of caulk, he waived the charge. He was honest and explained everything well, and I would definitely call him again if future problems arise. Bonus: he was tolerant and friendly to my young children who watched him and asked questions the whole time.

Great experience. Severen was prompt, knowledgeable, educated me about roofing materials, life spans, & installation methods. He knew immediately how to repair the loose tiles,& where to procure the same type shingles. He arrived promptly with the materials early the next week and finished the timely. He is obviously proud of his work and that of his crews. I would recommend him to anyone needing roofing.

I joined Angie's list specifically to find a quality roofer and was not disappointed. When looking at the ratings for roofers quickly realized that I needed to focus on the negative ratings because I didn't want to play the odds and possibly be one of those with a bad experience. Severen, of Colo Roofing, had only A ratings. He was very informative when discussing my roof and his quoting process was clear with separate quotes for each option. I also like the way he included the taxes and cost of the permit in the quotes, leaving nothing unaccounted for. Unlike some roofers, he contracts for his crew but has worked with them a number of times. This allowed him to keep his costs down and, most importantly, he was on the job site the whole time. This was a huge plus since he had quoted the job, knew what it entailed, and was present to make sure all the details were handled properly. He also used an eight man crew which meant the job was completed in one day. We also had the gutters replaced. He didn't add a fee to arrange it and was hundreds of dollars cheaper than other quotes for this part of the job. I'm sure it isn't easy to keep an all A rating and Severen worked hard to make me happy. I would recommend him to anyone.

We needed a roofing inspection quickly for an HOA request in our townhome subdivision. We reviewed all the Roofing companies on Angie's List, since we are a long time customer, and found Colo Roofing had an A+ grade as well as an Angie's List Super Service Award. So we called Colo Roofing on Monday, May 20th and Severen answered the phone quickly and professionally. After explaining our roofing need to Severen, was able to schedule to come to our Townhome the next day! Severen arrived exactly at the appointed time, was very personable and friendly. We reviewed the section of roof that needed inspection and he performed the inspection. We discussed his honest findings about the condition of the roof. Severen was very good about explaining the roof inspection in detail so that even I could understand it ;o). He then said he would email us his roof inspection report. When I asked him how much I owed him for his time and inspection report, he said "No charge"!!!!! I was very surprised! We appreciate Severen's honesty, intregrity and professionalism. If you ever have any roofing needs, I would definitely call Severen Pedersen at Colo Roofing!

It was a pleasure working with Linda on getting this vintage duplex re-roofed and up to today's code, as numerous unforeseen issues presented themselves during the tear-off including: areas of the roof having 5 layers of rolled asphalt roofing, replacement of rotten sheathing, and rafter support repair in one of the two dead valleys. All work was completed at the original price quoted to the customer.

It went well. The whole story is in the panel above.
Description of Work: We had called Front Range Gutters to check a drip coming from our gutters. Tom showed up, inspected the gutters, and said it was not a gutter problem, but a roofing issue. So we called Colorado Roofing. Severen came, inspected the gutter/roof place where the drip occurred. He came back the next day, inserted a small panel next to where the roof joined a dormer to channel the roof drip to the right place. Subsequent observation after rains showed that this has solved our problem. We found Colorado Roofing on Angie's list, and the price was $75.00 for a complete roofing inspection. He charged us the $75.00 for his work without the inspection. We think that was fair.

Please note that the customer purchased an Angie's List coupon for $79 for a 25 point roof inspection (please note that this coupon has been turned off during the winter months). Upon arrival, it was brought to my attention that the homeowner's highest need was to determine & repair a transition point between the roof sheathing and the gutter where no drip edge existed. Unfortunately, I didn't have the materials I needed to perform the repair, so a second trip was made the following day. This repair was more then simply tucking a piece of drip edge under shingles and tacking it down, as the location in concern resided under a low overhanging dormer, and there was no shingles and/or sheathing to attach drip edge and/or flashing to. Several pieces to flashing had to be custom cut and installed in a step down fashion to achieve stability and weather proofing. This is a repair that would normally run around $400, but I offered to do it for the cost of the 25 point inspection fee, and was happy to honor my word with the customer. Please also not that my company "Colo Roofing, LLC" is not associated with Colorado Roofing.

Excellent!!! Inspector showed up on time, spent about 30 minutes on the roof, examining all parts of the roof and roof vents, gave me a detailed explanation of what he found, including: shingles in excellent condition over the entire roof, vents in good condition with no leaks at bottom next to shingles, some missing shingles (never put in place when roof was initially installed 13 years ago), some caulking compound needs replacement in a few places; will provide an estimate for repair of these minor problems.

The whole process of removing the roof and placing the new one took just one day. They came at 8 am and were gone by 4 pm and I have a large home. They did not block the street with their trucks. The shingles were delivered the day before and placed on the roof. There was no hassle at all. The clean up was excellent. Severen, the owner, explained everything and helped me work with the insurance company. The process was painless and I would choose this company again.

The crew was amazingly fast, organized and professional. They arrived at 8am and were done by 2pm from start to finish.
Description of Work: Severen and his roofing crew did a complete job from the beginning to the end. He spent time during the estimate to explain each phase of what was to be done. He explained the differences in materials and what work was needed to build a roof withstand Colorado temperature extremes and high winds. He worked with me through the approval process and acquired the proper permits and inspections. I am confident that the process was properly done and complete. Upon completion of the roof he walked around the house with me and made sure the area was spotless and all debris was cleared. He reviewed exactly what was done on the roof and arranged for the inspection. A very complete job.

It took a while to get an estimate done (we called after a hail storm). Severen (the owner) did a very thorough inspection. We were able to coordinate his visit along with the visit by the insurance adjuster. We weren't sure if we would have the damage to do a full roof replacement but the adjuster recommended it. He was incredibly helpful during the adjusters visit and we think he helped us to get a more thorough review completed. He is very patient and explained what work would be completed in detail. We have never had an insurance claim to replace our roof before and did not know that the estimate really is for the quality of the company you hire. The roofing companies agree to accept the insurance amount as payment and you cover your deductible. We had a lot of questions since we had never done this before and he was able to answer everything we asked. He even answered some questions we hadn't thought of. We had several other estimates done and there was only one other local company that came close to winning our job. He takes the extra care to make sure that you get the best quality roof for your money. He added in storm and ice shield, 15 lb felt and upgraded other components as well. One of the other companies we got an estimate from would have charged us the same price and would not have upgraded these items for us. We also got the impact resistant shingles for a small amount more so our new roof will not need to be replaced for a long time. The work crew showed up when they were scheduled and did an AMAZING job in just 1 day. They tore down the old roof, installed the new one, cleaned up the debris and hauled off the trailer with all the old materials. Severen's crew is professional, efficient and fast! [Our poor neighbor has had a work crew on their roof for over a week now and it still isn't complete. They should have hired Colo Roofing!]

After contacting COLO Roofing Severen promptly came to the house to look the situation over and provided an estimate of the repairs needed. After reviewing the estimate and deciding on COLO Roofing to do the repairs Severen came back by the house to review his material list and complete the Work Authorization. I was given a date and time the work would be done. The work began on the date and time scheduled and Severen was the first one on the job. Severen personally helped for some time with the work before having to leave to provide some estimates to other customers. Severen returned after the job was completed that same day to check the completed work. During this whole process Severen promptly returned all my calls and kept me informed at all times as to what was going on.
Description of Work: The work performed was at my mothers house. The detached garage is connected to the main dwelling by a covering where the two roofs must transition together. There were some issues at this transistion and the water was not draining properly and seeping through the roof of the covering and the garage. I contacted Severen from Colo Roofing who came to the house to look the situation over. He explained what needed to be done to correct the situation and later sent me an estimate for the needed repairs. I decided to have COLO Roofing do the repairs and contacted Severen who gave me a date when the work would be done. COLO Roofing arrived on the date scheduled and removed a section of the old roof at this transistion area where it previously had been done improperly. They then proceeded in re-roofing this transition area to correct the situation. The work was completed the same day.

Colo Roofing company was reffered by a friend who uses Angie's List. The owner answered my call and immediately set up a free estimate for the following day. He worked around my schedule. A couple of companies didn't even return my call. The owner was punctual, knowledgeable, friendly, and honest. I also liked that he climbed up on the roof during the estimate and took digital pictures to show me exactly what our roof damage was. He was also the best price that I had quoted from three different roofers. In just a few days he and his workers were at our house and completed the job promptly. He also was able to come earlier than expected, so gave me a call to let me know. I would refer Colo Roofing to friends/family and even strangers. I will also be using him again if I ever need anything down the road.

After a hail storm I contacted three roofing companies to assess the damage, if any. Two companies responded quickly and came out immediately. Mr. Pederson was so courteous and professional and really put my mind at ease. There was no damage, based on his assessment, but he offered to manage my house project for me with other contractors for the damage to the siding and fencing. I was so grateful for his knowledge and honest opinion of the state of my home. Our insurance agreed with Mr. Pederson that there was no damage from the hail. While we didn't get to use Colo. Roofing, I will in the future if need be. I've also recommended his company to my friends during their roof assessments as well.

Colo Roofing, LLC was the highest estimate for my needed repair. I selected this contractor because of his professionalism and explanation of the work to be performed. Severn Pederson was able to establish a level of trust that the other contractors could not match. Severn treated my repair project like it was a full roof replacement. More work was required than initially thought and was completed within the scope of work that was proposed in his estimate. My expectations were met and actually exceeded. Colo Roofing, LLC is now my contractor of choice for any roof work in the future.
Description of Work: As a result of high winds my roof needed maintenance and repair. I solicited multiple estimates for the needed work ($350-$750). 40-50 shingles were replaced, loose shingles were re-adhered and exposed nails were siliconed.

Mr. Pedersen is also a certified roofing inspector, which made me feel confidant he would require an acceptable result for replacing my roof.
Description of Work: Mr. Pederson of ColoRoofing arrived at the scheduled time to perform the roof inspection. Prior to on roof inspection, Mr. Pedersen asked if I had any special concerns. I mentioned a drip I had heard last fall after a snowstorm, around the fireplace. He proceeded to walk the interior of the house visually searching for ceiling damage. He then walked the entire roof to determine a quote amount, explained in detail the condition of the roof and showed exact measurements to the inch as well as showed me pictures of areas that may need extra attention, because of rust or damage to the shake shingles. Some were broken or missing and all were extremely dry. Mr. Pedersen's quote was prepared and delivered to me in a very timely manner, within 1 day. After I contacted Mr. Pedersen that I wanted his company, ColoRoofing, to replace my roof, he brought many samples from 2 distributors and helped me make a choice, leaving the 2 that I liked best. His experience and attention to detail helped me with that process. Communication during every step of the process kept me informed of what to expect during the upcoming process as well as what was going on now. I can't say enough how much this helped me develop confidence the crew would do a good job, especially when he was on site overseeing the entire process from start to finish, including 2 walk arounds w/me to check on the eye appeal as well as correct roofing procedures according to current codes. My city building department permit required a mid roof inspection, which he coordinated closely to be sure the roofing crew did not have down time because of failure of the inspector to arrive at the proper time. After the job was completed he followed up directly w/the city building department to assure a timely final inspection. ColoRoofing used a fantastic crew that reroofed my 1600+ sq. ft. home in 1 day, removing shake shingles, and they left less than a sandwich bag of any materials after their cleanup.

Response from Colo Roofing, LLC.
Having worked with you was an absolute pleasure! She was a very hands-on customer who appreciated knowing every step/process taken from Start to Completion. Please note the following: Property location of re-roof and gutter replacement is at: 26 Walter Way, Broomfield, CO 80020. This is a gated community so drive by's are not permitted. Various shingle sample boards from multiple mfgs (GAF/ELK, Owens Corning, Certianteed & Tamko) were brought to Mrs. Matousek's house for review, with the intention of finding the best color match to complement the new colors (body & trim) that she was going to have the house painted upon completion of the re-roof and gutter replacement. Her decision was narrowed down to two mfgs (GAF/ELK and Tamko) with the final decision to go with the Tamko Heritage shingles in Harvest Gold. Square footage of re-roof was 37 squares. A combination of 5" and 6" seamless gutters were installed to appropriately capture/discharge water, based on roof contour. Although not currently a code requirement for the City of Broomfield, the customer did understand the value, and agreed to have Ice & Water Shield installed on the eves, valleys and rakes, to offset potential roof/structure damage caused by wind-driven rain/snow, Ice damming, heavy downpours, and micro-burst winds.
