Shower installer (Benray Marble) uses this company. 3 weeks to get glass in. Then send installer out without appointment. I was not home. Then glass "explodes" on truck. Phone mailbox full so I can't even contact them regarding my glass. I would NOT recommend this company.

The Company that produced the door had a lifetime warranty on the door also; they were able to get the replacement done for free despite having trouble finding my account papers from six years ago. They only charged me for the reinstallation because the installation had a three-year warranty. It was a great experience.
Description of Work: I used CNC Glass Works for replacing a shower door that had shattered that they had installed six years ago.

I too went with them because they were highly rated on Angie's list. It took 14 days versus the 10 they promises to get the glass in to install. There office clerk seemed put out when she called to arrange the install because I did not return her call quick enough and she was leaving for the day. I left work early to meet the installer and then they said they cut the tirm to short and had to go back to the shop to cut new pieces. Then an hour or so later they said the door would not fit - it was cut to big and it would take another week or two to get a new one cut. Then they called again to arrange the install, I left work early and they had been working for about an 1 1/2 before they told me the hingled slots were cut too large and too high. I could not believe it and just want my new redesigned master bathroom done and working. It is obvious they are going to an out of state vendor to improve their margins at the cost of the customer. Made me pay a 60% deposit (my bad and do not ever do) 1/3 down is enough, but make sure you get a signed quote, contractual agreement.

To [member name removed], Again, our sincerest apologies for our shortcomings on this shower enclosure. We've had a 5-star customer service rating for the last 18 years in business, and always do our absolute best to uphold this award, however, unfortunately in the construction/remodel business there are occasional mistakes made. Custom European shower enclosures are a very delicate and intricate glass system, with very little tolerances. Although we do literally 1000's of them per year, we are subject to making mistakes just as in any other business or trade. I initially made a mistake on this measure, and the enclosure could'nt be installed the first time around. Then when we received the new piece, our supplier had made a mistake, and gave us strike two. We're a small company that takes pride in each and every job we do, and all of us, from office personnel to owner to installers, feel horrible when something like this happens. Unfortunately as humans we all make mistakes, and we are very eager to do whatever it takes to rectify this situation and make [member name removed] happy. We would'nt have the customer ratings and been in business for 18 years if we didn't care about our customers. Please visit our many testimonials of happy customers we have, including many on Home Advisor. Also, I would like to clarify some fore-mentioned allegations. Our typical protocol is 10 business days from measure to install, which was met for [member name removed], the total invoice was less than $1500, which I would gladly invite Ms. Shreiner to compare others to. And lastly, we do require a contractual "sign-off" verification that states all of the above, just to be sure we're all on the same page, before placing the order. We ask all of our customers for a 50% deposit upon placing the order, which is standard with most businesses upon placing any custom order. Once again [member name removed], I sincerely apologize for the inconvenience we've caused you, and hope that we can make you happy, as we've been able to with 1000's of our 100% satisfied customers. Respectfully, Chris Leos, owner

The actual measuring went fine, but he was an hour and a half late. When we got the estimate, it was quite a bit higher than other estimates we received. We really wanted to go with this service provider but he was not willing to negotiate, so we did not go with him ultimately.
Description of Work: The owner came out and gave us an estimate for mirrors we wanted behind some built in shelves.

I called CNC because of the great reviews here on Angie's List. I'm sure he does good work, but I couldn't hire him based on his lack of professionalism. I'm sure he's had many more positive experiences with clients than bad, but this was my experience: Chris showed up to my home early and parked directly in front of my house. He didn't call to see if I was available for an earlier appointment. Nor did he check in to let me know he was there. Instead, he chose to use the extra time to take care of personal business. I'm 100% fine with that. But what I was not fine with was that he chose to pace around outside of his truck (again, right in front of my house) while having an argument on his cell phone. He was yelling and used several vulgarities. He then wandered around my property - walking up my sidewalk on the side of the house - all the way to the back gate. Again, he hadn't checked in, so he basically a stranger walking around my property talking on his cell phone. This is highly unprofessional on its own, but also its disrespectful to my neighbors and their small children. I went out to confront him on my sidewalk and he covered his phone and quietly said he would just be a few minutes. I nearly told him to leave right then and there, but I did want a quote from him so I could compare his price to others. But I knew there would be no way I would invite him back to do work in my home. Incidentally, his quote was the most expensive. Here's an explanation of the grades I gave him: Overall Experience: D - See above. I would have given him an F, but he did show up and do what I asked of him, so I have to give him that much. Quality: N/A - I didn't hire him, so quality can not be assessed. Responsiveness: D - he promised to email me the quote that evening (11/22). It arrived 11/25. You have to follow through and deliver on what your promise. He failed to do that. Punctuality: C - He showed up on time, heck he was even early. But rather than alerting me, he wondered around my property without introducing himself. If you're a mother, possibly home alone with children, would you be concerned about a stranger wondering around your property? Professionally: F. See above. Admittedly, I'm a tough customer. I want contractors and service providers to act like professionals and treat me, my home, my family and my neighbors with respect. I want them to follow the golden rule - treat me like you would like me to treat you. And I want you to follow through on what you promise. Chris and CNC failed in those areas.
Description of Work: Chris came to my home to bid on a small shower project. I wanted a basic, frameless glass shower door. I did not hire Chris and CNC based on the unpleasant experience I had with him (see below).

Everything went really well. Chris, the owner, is a great communicator, listens well, and is very helpful. We noticed after they were done that there was a tiny chip in the glass. The workers came out right away and fixed it at no charge. Their prices are excellent compared to the several bids that we got.
Description of Work: They installed frameless shower glass doors.

Chris and I played a little email and phone tag until I got his cell phone number and called him directly. He was very professional and a good listener from the begining. He came out on 5/10/10 to measure my shower area and give me an estimate. He brought brochures with pictures of the shower enclosures, so that I was not only given choices, but able to see what the unit would actually look like installed. He was able to give me a very specific quote and even included a sketch with the towel bar and handle positions and noted the measurements he had taken. Angelo arrived on Saturday 5/15/10 as agreed, and took out the old enclosure and istalled the new solid glass enclosure with bronze trim. He took his time, and was very thorough. Angelo also did extra work and caulked the interior of the shower along the out side wall It was good to know I could trust someone with so much experience in the industry They did a perfect job from begining to end

The experience went very well overall. Chris examined the job in person and responded rapidly with a reasonable quote. After some detailed discussions, he double checked measurements for the shower and also added in my request for the large mirror for a very competitive final job bid. Around a week later his installers (very professional and courteous) arrived with the custom manufactured glass and mirror and performed an exacting installation. There was a bit of dust to clean up after they left, which took only about 5 minutes. The installers worked quite hard to get the fit and sealant just perfect. My bathroom is now a showpiece!
Description of Work: CNC Glassworks installed a very large thick frameless glass enclosure for my new custom shower. They also installed a custom full wall-sized mirror over the bathroom vanity which had two holes in it for lighting. The hardware was all brushed nickel with a special-order shower handle. The trim around the shower glass was extremely low profile in order to have the sleek glass-only look but retain proper structural support. All parts were custom fit to exacting dimensions, which is critical for a steam shower. It’s a beautiful job!
