First, a big thank you to Angie's List and to the members who took the time to review North State Drywall. I could match anyone with "Contractor Horror Stories" before I purchased my membership. I was at the point of finding honest, reliable, qualified craftsmen or letting my house fall down around my feet. From my first phone call with Joe of North State Drywall, I've been very satisiied with the courteous, professional manner I've experienced. I initially purchase a special he offered, but due to health issues, was not able to have the work done immediately. Before he offered his next special, he called to make sure there wasn't a problem and wanted to take care of his prior specials before he scheduled new business. When I was ready to start my project, he scheduled it in a very timely manner. He arrived on time, wasted no time getting started and I can find no fault with his performance. Wallpaper removal can be a very messy project, and Joe made every effort to leave my home in good order when he completed his work. As an added bonus, he is a very pleasant, courteous man and it was a pleasure th have him in my home. I would recommend him highly.

North State Drywall Inc did good work and they were on time. Their price was good.

Joe Friend (owner) and his son are very polite, punctual and professional. You can tell by the quality of work that Joe enjoys what he does. They do a good job of cleaning up after their work has been completed,

Joe showed up on a Sunday morning after church (good sign, in my opinion) on his way to family brunch to take a look at my several projects. He promised me a price by the following morning, which he was prompt and on-time. Based off of his estimate, we decided to do everything in one shot, which I am glad we did. The project lasted 3 days, and after every single day, you could not have been able to tell that he was even there - he cleaned everything up, including washing down our floors, vaccuuming up the dust, dirt, etc. We had a recessed celing in our kitchen that we were adamant about lowering to match the rest of the ceiling - Joe recommended he re-do the recessed ceiling in a new style that he has done in several houses as of late, and we couldn't be happier. I was amazed to see how his work so closely resembled the texture on the existing walls - and on top of it all - you are not going to find a nicer guy. I am very Type-A about my house, and I can say Joe did an absolutely fantastic job on all 7 of my projects. Don't waste your time looking anywhere else - call Joe.

After contacting North State Drywall via Angie's List, an appointment was scheduled with Joe Friend, owner and contractor. He arrived on time as scheduled and we reviewed the various options. After some thought, Joe called back and offered to perform the work on both of our bathrooms due to a current opening in his schedule. We agreed and the work was performed promptly and on schedule with a minimum of inconvenience. Joe was exceptionally professional and skillful as demonstrated in the finished product. We were totally satisfied and would not hesitate to utilize and recommend his services.

After reading the great reviews on Angie's List, I decided to make a call to Joe, who answered immediately and got back to me very quickly when he had time to talk. He was very friendly and professional on the phone. I explained the work I needed done (wallpaper removal and texture) and he was able to give me a ballpark estimate on the phone. He drove quite a distance to my home in El Dorado county, he was on time, clean, and did a fabulous job. It was a two day job that was completed with no surprises. Joe explained the process, what to expect and how long it would take. Everything went great. I might ad that the wallpaper on my walls was installed professionally and was really on there. It was no problem for Joe.

.Everything went very well. The owner and one helper were able to remove almost all the grass cloth within the terms of the "Big Deal". They worked fast and made an effort to meet the time deadline. The texturing was extra, but had to be done, since the dining room wall had no texture on it. The owner was an expert at "skip trowell" type of texturing, which is what the rest of the walls in my house have. He did an excellent job on this.

Not a huge jpb, all went as hoped for.

We got connected with Joe through an Angie's List wallpaper removal promotion and ended up having him plaster our walls to get them ready for painting too. One of the cool things about Angie's List is that we never would have connected with Joe (his business is located relatively far away from our home), but we liked his work and would definitely have him do more work on our home in the future. ***updated*** On closer inspection to his work, we found that Joe skipped corners and lightly plastered some areas. We had to redo a lot of the spaces he covered. The price was great, and so was the reaction time, but I wish we inspected the work a little more thoroughly at the time so maybe he could have fixed some of the issues. New homeowners. Learning the ropes...

Joseph was helpful in presenting options of work to be done. He did a good job of smoothing out the walls he repaired, one where a plumber had done a terrible job patching up a wall-- Joseph made that spot very smooth & unnoticeable. Also a very nice person.

He sheet rocked and taped the wall with mesh tape. He ran out of time and was not able to mud the wall unless I paid him extra. He could have easily finished the job, complete with mudding in the time allowed. I did not opt to have him mud the wall.

He was professional & prompt, but the quote ended up being $1000 and that was out of my budget.

Joe was great. I explained to him what exactly I wanted in dry walling my whole garage. He asked me questions where he was unclear and gave me some suggestions. We scheduled a time to do the work. He showed up early, finished on time, and was on his way. He was absolutely great!

He did an excellent job and was very thorough. To avoid adding costs to the visit, he worked with me to make the ceiling look finished the first time out. Very nice guy. Felt comfortable leaving my wife and kid at home while he finished up.

Joe was Great. He didn't mind driving all the way from Plumas Lake for just a small job. Was extremely punctual, friendly and did a fantastic job making the repairs - even did a couple minor repairs that he saw without charging extra. I would definitely use North State Drywall again. Thanks Joe!!

Joe from North State Drywall responded to my voicemail request for an estimate within just a few hours. Even though it was a Saturday, he dropped by my house on his way home from a family soccer game and gave me an estimate on the spot. The price was fair and Joe agreed to be ready for work as soon as I called. The following week I called to accept the bid and we scheduled the start date. Joe and his crew arrived exactly on time and got right to work. He was fast but also meticulous in detail - which was important since we were removing old wallpaper from 4 rooms, sealing the wallboards and then re-texturing. The whole job was completed exactly as planned. Joe took time to point out the steps he took to insure a quality job and even did a few minor unplanned touch-ups at no extra charge. North State Drywall was one of several contractors we retained for a large remodel project but they stand out as one of the best. I have no reservation about recommending them and will use their service again when I need to.

This is the second time I have used Joe. I would not use him again if I was not pleased with his work. If I need work of this nature again i will use Joe again.

He arrived on time, every time. He was on budget. He finished on time. He was pleasant to be around. Overall, it was a great experience.

Everything went well. Joe and his assistant showed up as scheduled and removed the wall paper and patched walls as necessary. Afterward they cleaned up all materials and vaccuumed the carpeting to remove any small debris. Aferward, I rehired them to come back next weekend to texture some of the walls for painting.

Every thing went very well. He made a trip on sat. for the estimate and was right on time. We scheduled the work and right on time again.

Excellent service and communication received. Once he inspected the actual needed repairs he rescheduled and completed the repairs quickly and very well.

We had to pay extra for the distance charge so watch for that.

Very smooth process...did not encounter any problems.
