Dan responded immediately to our inquiry and gave us a quote, as promised, with various options that would accommodate our budget and timing. Originally, we didn't anticipate that we could afford the entire job since we've had it bid before. But, Dan's quote was extremely reasonable and we were able to do the entire back and side yards instead of doing them in stages as we had originally thought we would have had to. Once we contacted Dan to let him know that we would proceed with the full option, Dan had his crew starting on our job within two days and completed the job in 2.5 days. We've had concrete work performed before at our previous home and, by far, Gerber did a much better job and, always, very accommodating, friendly and professional. We are extremely happy with our new backyard and sideyard and, with the rain last night, there are no puddles or, better yet, small swimming pools of water in our backyard due to the drainage system. Dan and his team exceeded expectations on this project. They responded promptly to my phone calls requesting a quote for the demolition of my pool and they started/finished working on the pool the very next day. There price was very reasonable given the nature of the work and I was impressed at how quickly they completed the project. All of the staff I worked with did a great job communicating with me and keeping me in the loop every step of the way.

They were great. They did our pool originally. They were excellent in terms of their responsiveness, punctuality and professionalism. They did a great job.

It went very well overall. Dan Gerber was very knowledgeable and friendly. Sometimes he takes a couple of days to respond to emails but it seems he's pretty busy. His team is composed mainly of Hispanic labor, but his foremen speak English reasonably well and are themselves knowledgeable and highly skilled. They got the leveling of the concrete just right, and everything passed the rain test with flying colors. The tile work was very meticulous and met my wife's exacting standards. They cleaned up after themselves very well, and were prompt. His price was very fair. I did ask him after the estimate for the Angie's List discount, but was told this was included. The quality was more than worth it to me, but if you're looking after each dollar, you might have to ask upfront.

They provided me with a quote too. The job turned out great. Instead of just doing what I said, they recommended what I thought they should really be doing in the first place. They took my plan and made it a good plan. The owner responds quickly. He emailed and got a quote out and got work done in a timely manner. It was good quality work.

I found this company on angieslist. Went to their website, completed their "contact me form". It says that they will respond with a quote in 2 days. And did not hear anything back. It was Sunday, which I understand they are closed. But its now Wednesday morning and I have not heard anything yet. I understand my job is small but important to me.

Everything that they did came out great. I spent $5426 for their services. Dan Gerber was great. He was very knowledgeable and explained everything in detail. His guys were on time, clean and tidy. They cleaned everything up after they were done and it was like as if they weren’t even there. Everything was awesome. I would definitely recommend them. Their prices are reasonable. Dan will work with you. He even made changes to the retaining wall. I told him one thing, but I didn’t like it. So, he came back and redid it at no extra cost, which was awesome. He was pretty quick in responding. I would definitely use their services in the future too since I have some work that needs to be done on the side. I am really glad I found them on Angie’s List.

Overall the job went very well. We asked Dan to break up his proposal into sections and cost each one separately, as we were thinking we might not be able to do all the work we wanted. Dan was very accommodating; he went along with whatever we requested. He was very prompt in returning phone calls & emails and very patient with all of our questions. Thanks to him, we know a lot more about backyard landscaping and concrete than before we started. Once we determined what was to be done, he was able to start work very quickly. It took 4 days to remove the existing concrete, which was extremely thick and hard to move. Dan was able to coordinate with the pool repair guy so we minimized noisy days with jack hammers. The crews arrived on time and worked hard all day. Once the original drainage system was exposed, it was found to be in bad shape, requiring complete replacement. Since this was not planned for, Dan had to add extra cost to the project. In the end we eliminated the repair of some steps to keep the cost the same and still get the drainage system repaired. We really appreciated that Dan was willing to work with us to help keep costs down. The remaining work took about 13 days to complete. We usually walked about the yard as work progressed so we were assured things were getting done the way we wanted. Dan was willing to accept changes as work progressed and we changed our minds. This was very helpful. However, it was a good thing we kept good notes on what was decided, because Dan did not and occasionally we had to remind him of our decisions. Another complication we ran into was the fact that we had to be out of town during the final phase. We reviewed the work when we returned and presented Dan with a list of items we thought still needed work. He came promptly and completed all the items on the list, as well as a few extras we had asked for. He said repeatedly, if we found anything else that needed work, he would be happy to return and finish it. Overall it was a pleasure to work with Dan and we are very happy with our new backyard. We would not hesitate to ask Dan back for any new work.

It went well overall for us. I think that the concrete company had a few problems (didn't have enough concrete, so had to wait a few hours for more) and stayed late to finish the job. We were very satisfied with the work

I thought the work was fine. I should have got a written estimate from him because he had an opportunity to charge me a little bit more. It was probably my fault. I was satisfied with the work. I thought he did good work. I thought his price was a little bit on the high side but it was not too bad. Otherwise I would not have used him again. I dealt with him over the phone but he was certainly responsive. I will use his services again in the future.

He seemed to be a nice guy. We ended up not hiring him because he was a bit expensive. He was very professional.

After calling 4 different concrete service companies, Gerber was the only company to respond. Company owner, Dan Gerber called me back within an hour. He sent another guy to do the estimate. We had several adjustments to make, bringing the cost down by $150, since utilizing an existing drain pipe made it a one-day job, rather than a two-day job. The work was performed by two entirely different men. They did a nice job and were very courteous. Dan came after the job was complete to collect the check and make sure all was well. Looking back, I would have eliminated the salt finish, as water collects in the deeper holes after it rains, or after walkway is hosed off. Overall, we had a positive experience with Gerber Concrete. Very professional company, quick to respond, began work within several days of the estimate, and they provided two very good workmen. We were able to cost-reduce a bit, taking advantage of an existing drain pipe. I would recommend Gerber Concrete to friends and family.

Dan Gerber came out and gave spent a good amount of time with me, walking the property and going over the plans. His estimate was detailed enough to show a good understanding of the requirements and his price was the best (by a good measure) of several estimates I received for the job. The company was able to start work a week after we signed a contract. The foreman/pumper on the job was Ray, who was professional and courteous. He helped us problem-solve through many important details where the actual real-life dimensions differed from our landscape designer's scale drawing. The crew working on the job were very hard working and personable. Two guys, Manuel and Robert really knew their stuff--you could tell they had years of experience at this. I did end up deciding to add two separate projects during the job, and the price estimates for those were fair. I also had a number of smaller tweaks which they were able to make at no additional charge. I appreciated that they were not nickel-and-diming me to death! In the end I was very happy with the work and would hire Gerber again. Very clean and precise work. Actually, I plan to have them back out to do the next phase of the project.

Dan came to my home on time and gave me a competive quote. Decided to go with Dan, I had two other quotes and Dan's was the most competive and I also felt more comfortable with him vs the others. Finished the work on time and as quoted. Ray, his foreman was great and kept me in the loop as to what was being done, why and when. Great job guys and highly recommend their services!

We only obtained an estimate but Dan Gerber was very flexible in his pricing. He was very professional, and had the best price out of several contractors we contacted. He is a hard worker & I highly recommend him for any construction project as he is independent and was willing to work with us on the price.

Dan and Ray are very personable and truthful. They do what they say they will do. For the whole job there were about 12 different workmen here at different times and all really looked like they knew what they were doing. If I ever need any more concrete work I will call them.

Work crew arrived on time every day, worked diligently with careful attention to details. They cleaned up before leaving for the day. Work was completed in six days on schedule. They were eager to answer any questions and to accommodate our requests to ensure our full satisfaction. We’ve got compliments from our neighbors on our new beautiful driveway In conclusion, they did an excellent job on time at a reasonable price. So we rate them best buy.

From beginning to end, this was a quality experience. Customer service and the quality of work are above reproach! The finished product matches the pre-existing concrete exceptionally well.

What an awesome and rewarding experience! I was thrilled to have read other great reviews of Dan and his team on Angie's list and felt that I had won the concrete-quality lottery when I called him, met him and benefited from the craftsmanship of his team. The entire transaction was handled with efficiency, professionalism and personality. Ray and Joe, who did the lion's share of the pouring and finishing work, were extra special. While waiting for the concrete truck to arrive, they pulled out their guitars and I was treated to a free and fantastic concert (unfortunately, I was working from home that day and had two conference calls during which my attention drifted to Ray's and Joe's music - I missed a couple of key points of the call, but followed up later). Start to finish, you couldn't meet a group of more respectful and decent guys. These are true Americans - they take pride in their work and are very appreciative (and deserving!) of the recognition for their work one provides. When I win the real lottery, I will have them all back to do some amazing hardscapes at my new mansion - and then, if they have any energy left, I'll commission them to be the entertainment for the first open house. Excellent! We just bought a house on a hill. The garage is below street level and the sidewalk was angling upwards, so we could not take our cars in to the garage; they would bottom out. And the cars weren't even very low. It was a difficult task as they needed to raise part of the driveway and then bring it down again. Ray, Dan and Carlos were extremely professional and thorough in measuring our cars to make sure they go through the driveway they pour. When it came to the actual work, they worked long hours and finished their work very quickly.
