Wonderful! They were clean and quick. A person would not even know that we had this ribbon cut out of our driveway. They had everything they needed and a plan. He totally worked around our schedule.

Called Gerber Concrete for an estimate on replacing the concrete driveway approach at my house. Dan Gerber called be back promptly, and arranged for an estimate. Throughout the process Dan and his employees were always prompt and professional. Estimate was reasonable, and arranged to have work completed. Project was finished on schedule. I'm very happy with the work Dan and his crew performed, and also with Dan himself. He made this a pleasant experience. I would recommend him to others.

The job was started on Thursday, July 11th, and the cement was finished on Monday, July 15th. Two of the crew (the supervisor and 1 man) even came on Saturday to make sure everything was ready for the cement truck on Monday morning. I had made a mistake in one area and was going to put plants at the end of the new sidewalk from the back yard to the street and forgot that I needed to take my trash cans out every week so I would need cement all the way to the city sidewalk on the street so I called Dan on Sunday and he said it was no problem and his men changed the forms on Monday morning in time for the cement to be poured. After the initial estimate, I changed the plans several times and each time, Dan Gerber, the president of Gerber Construction, called me back and worked with me as I added or subtracted from the original plans. I had originally planned to keep the old patio and make a separate new patio in the back yard (8'x26'), but Dan and his wonderful supervisor, Miguel, worked out the drainage projections with a tripod like tool and said my 2nd patio would be higher than the original and the water would all drain toward the house. The original price had been about $5000, but I agreed to make it all one patio so it could have proper drainage and he only charged me $2500 for removing the old patio (about 10'x31'). I have 2 sliding doors (living room and dining room) going out to the patio and one of the slabs by the living room door would interfere with the drainage, so that had to come out and be replaced, also. He only added $100 for that change. The finished product looks incredible with a beautiful broom finish instead of the piecemeal concrete I had planned with the 2 separate patios with a 9" border around the new one to catch the rain water. This company really knows what they are doing and the have enough crew (5 to 6 guys every day) to get the job done in a timely manner. They have all the equipment (every type of shovel, saw, hoses to pump the concrete, etc., and they took special care to protect my property--even the old carpet I had in the garage was covered with plastic so they could wheel hundreds of loads of sod, dirt, and old concrete through my pass through garage door to the back yard since they could not use the gate since a new cement sidewalk (30'x3') was being formed there to have new concrete to the street. The best part was how promptly Dan responded to phone calls and returned them--as a woman, I did not know exactly what was going to work (drainage, etc.) and I had to add on several things--he had an estimate to me within 1 day while the other 2 companies had still not given me an estimate 5 to 7 days after they saw the job. I wanted to at least hear what their estimate was since they went to the trouble to measure, but I finally had to give them a 6:00 pm deadline a week after Bates Construction had been out and 3 days after M.E. MCLOUGHLIN Concrete Construction had come out to measure the job. Only one of the other contractors gave me a tentative price of $5300, and that did not include the new section of 31'x3' that was included in Gerber Construction's price. If I ever need concrete, I would only use Gerber Construction Company--in fact, my neighbor across the street and I have asked for an estimate to replace our cracked driveways for our 3-car garages to be done in September. I trust Dan Gerber to be fair in the pricing that I will not even waste my time getting other estimates--I do not think any company could do better work and his pricing of about $9 per square foot is very fair. If I had a good camera, I would take pictures, but if anyone would like to see the work, call me (714-698-8374) and I would love to show off the great work Dan Gerber's Construction Company does. I would only recommend this company for any cement work and I am so grateful to the agent at Angie's List who sent me his name in the list of contractors for me to contact. Gerber Construction should be on every list of submissions to clients who are having cement work and Angie's List would have a lot of happy members.

Dan came out give us a bid. we got a few bids, one contractor was recommended to us, a friend of the family. I thought the friend of family would be a good price. Surprise, he was the hightest at $17,500.00. By going with Gerber Concrete Services I saved $7,700.00 WOW WHAT A SAVINGS. Thank you Angies List. They came out on a Monday, right on time. At the end of the day the crew cleaned up really good. Mr. Gerber would come everyday to check on the crew and the job. They finished the job one day ahead of schedule. We are so pleased with everything, what a great company. I can't say enough about this company.

Gerber Concrete made the whole process very easy - from the initial quote to the final product. They were on time, answered questions via email or phone promptly, and offered suggestions which improved the final result. Everyone was professional, friendly, and very cooperative. I highly recommend them.

From start to finish, Dan and his crew were consummate professionals. Dan always returned calls and emails promptly and once we hired him, he called everyday to make sure things were going well. His workers were meticulous, so much so that my 22 year old son even noticed how picky they were doing the work on the planter. The job started on time and finished on time with no issues. Dan was not our low bid. However, my husband really liked his approach to the job. When I spoke with him about the job, Dan was willing to work with us on the price a little, but he would not budge on the extra engineering he put into reinforcing our planter, and for that we are very grateful. The planter work is beautiful, sturdy, well constructed, and sealed. None of our other bids offered to seal the concrete like Dan did. He was amenable to anything we wanted elsewhere, which wasn't much because of the way he bid the job, it turned out exactly how we wanted it. It is true that you get what you pay for. If you want a cheap, thrown-together job, don't call Dan. If you want true quality work and a great attitude, Dan is the man. Also, while he was not the lowest bid, he was competitive, and willing to work with us on the price.

Everything went perfect! It couldn't have been any better. Dan was very on time from his very first appointment. He was super professional, a pleasure to work with and very well priced as he knew cost was an issue for us. He accomodated all of our needs and did exactly what he said he would do. His workers were also very professional. He called the day before the job to make sure everything was in place. Everyone showed up on time for the job - not a minute late and finished when they said they would. There were absolutely no issues.

They are 5 star and very professional. They came out and came me an estimate as promised. They do quality work and they showed up everyday in a timely fashion. I would highly recommend them.

Dan was amazing to work with. He was very responsive and courteous, I could not have been more pleased with anyone. We changed our minds several times throughout the process, and he rolled with it, without a single complaint. The project turned out better than I even expected it would. We get compliments all the time, and have even had a few people stop by to inquire about the work. Although the job took a little longer than we expected, I can honestly say there was not a day that went by when the guys were not working from sun up to down - they even came on Saturdays! They were very respectful and curious, and took the job very seriously. No corners were cut to get the job done faster, and you can tell in the final product. If you are thinking about going with someone, go with Dan Gerber. you will not be disappointed.

I contacted this company and received a very prompt reply. I sent a photo of the wall we wanted refinished. I appreciated the opportunity to do all of this by phone and online. I received a prompt written estimate.

The project went great. Dan was right on time at 7:30am and his crew started work right away. They had the area prepped and forms constructed very quickly. They were already pouring concrete at 10:30am, and spent the rest of the day finishing the pour and making things look nice. They incorporated several drains that we had already installed, and sloped the concrete accordingly. The project was essentially done by 5pm the same day. They came by the next day to pick up some of the forms and haul away some dirt. The crew did a great job and was very professional, and Dan was great to work with. Gerber will be the first place I call if I have concrete work in the future.

While we did not contract with Gerber they did submit a proposal for our job (large job, >$25K). Their bid was competitive and Dan is very responsive. We would definitely request quotes from them on future projects.

Dan came out on time, looked very professional and was well spoken. Dans bid was not the lowest but it sure wasnt the highest. His reviews on Angies List were great so we decided to go with him. His crew was on time, worked the whole day, and made several changes without having to call Dan. The main reasons I went with him was price, Angies List, and his "can do" attitude. All in all it was a great experience and I'd use him again. The job turned out great.

I tried to contact him near the end of sept. by phone, but he never called me back. I then contacted him through his website, and he responded by email fairly quickly. It was a little odd, but he just wanted to know the area, and what i wanted, and by email he quoted me the 1k price without ever looking at the site area in person. At the end of the week, he scheduled his crew to come out and do the job. They arrived on time, but i was a little surprised that he didn't accept credit cards for a job this size, so i didn't have the cash on hand and didn't have my checkbook with me, but he did come back the following day and picked up a check. Overall the men he sent were very good, and they did the job very quickly. The end result was fantastic, exactly what i wanted. I guess with Angie's list, he is very busy, and i can see how i got lost in the mix, but i guess since i only had a small job i did feel like maybe i was more of an inconvenience for him rather than a customer he needed. There is no denying that his men did a great job though. Very professional and very good at their jobs.

This is by far the best experience I have ever had with a contractor. Dan Gerber set up an estimate and was right time. After evaluating the job he offered some great suggestions with a couple of problem spots I had with tying into my driveway and my central air condenser. I was given an estimate that day with a follow up written estimate the next day,his price was very competitive with other estimates I had received. Dan set up a start time to start the work and his crew arrived 15 minutes early and started prepping the site. That night Dan called to be sure I was satisfied with the work before they poured the following day. The day of the pour his crew showed up right on time along with the concrete truck and pumper.Dan then did a final follow up to be sure I was totally satisfied with the work. The finished job turned out far better than I had expected. If You are looking for a reliable and competent concrete contractor I would absolutely recommend Gerber Concrete Services.

Dan is the man! I was working on a very tight budget and asked Dan if he could come pour and finish the concrete if I made the forms and prepared the area, and he was cool with that. He was also kind enough to answer a few stupid questions and work with my schedule. He was very responsive to e-mail and calls and showed up bright and early on the scheduled day. The Gerber Concrete crew is like a finely tuned machine - true professionals and incredible to watch in action. They sprung into action and had everything done in no time at all. The finishers did an amazing job, and my driveway looks fantastic. The price was unbelievable, and I HIGHLY recommend Gerber Concrete Services!

Dan Gerber along with his crew were able to work within our timelines. The work started very promptly on the first day and the crew worked very diligently thru the enitre project. We made one alternation to the plan to whick Dan was extremely accomodating and the project remained on time. Each day the crew was on time and we found them to be hard working and very detail oriented. The quality of the work was extremely high and the crew took a great deal of pride in doing an excellent job. Dan responded to all our inquiries and questions very promptly and we appreciated the amount of attention he gave to us and our project

We interviewed a few contractors, but chose Dan Gerber (Gerber Concrete) after discussing our plans in detail with Dan. Gerber Concrete was neither the cheapest nor the most expensive bid, however, Dan's bid was the best value for the money. His crew, especially his job site foreman, Angel, worked off a scale drawing to a tee (the complex asymmetrical design for the front entry/steps was implemented within an inch). The crew were prompt; they started on the designated day and were on site every day all day. Angel, the job site foreman, was knowledgeable and articulate, confirming details throughout the process. Dan was at the job site each morning and again later in the day. He was also available by phone throughout the day as needed. The crew cleaned up the job site at the end of each day, making sure not to leave debris/dirt in the street or around our home. We couldn't be happier with the end product; it came out beautifully. This was an unexpectedly pleasant experience in home renovation--it's rare to be able to deal with a company that exhibits such professionalism and does exactly what they promised to do.

He was excellent. He went above and beyond our expectations. He is honest and earnest. He is on top of everything. He communicated with us throughout the project.

I contacted Dan, he responded promptly, came by the house before I went to work, provided a written estimate. Dan let me know all the steps that would be taken by his work crew and how long it would take. The work progressed as he said, with no problems. Dan's crew cleaned up everything. Dan has stood by his work and I will contact him again when I need additional concrete and/or masonry work done.

The company arrived exactly on time. The driver took a hands-on approach to assisting my contractor. The job involved seven or eight wheelbarrow-filled trips between the truck and the pour site in the house. The company driver involved himself in tamping down the concrete to assure that there were no bubbles, that the wet concrete completely filled in the hole, and that my contractor was satisfied. When I initially contacted Mr. Gerber, he offered several suggestions by which I could save money for my little job, in lieu of utilizing his service. The fact that my sale was so small did not deter this company from treating me professionally, courteously, and fairly.

They were great and I really liked them, and I may use them if I end up not using my family.

He was responsive to our concerns and is availible to talk. He really seemed honest.
