It didn't happen at all.....

Dan and Jim did an excellent job and were easy to work with on the project. Dan and Jim were always punctual and actually finished the job ahead of schedule. When repairing the front wall, Jim painted the entire wall even though it was not part of the job so that the finished product would look great. I thought their price was very fair - it wasn't the lowest bid I received or the highest. Dan also was very ethical and trustworthy. Some other contractors had suggested that our entire wall needed to be replaced, but Dan told us that the wall was fine. We had no idea, and he could have lied and made a lot more money on the project.

They gave a good estimate and provided good service. I looked at the work before and after. They were very professional as well. The price was reasonable and within the same as the others I compared.

He showed up on time. He completed on time. His price was very reasonable, and he did a really good job. He checked other sources for other things we could have done with our driveway. He thought that might have saved us some money, but it didn?t. I would recommend the guy.

THEY ARE THE NICEST GUYS! They came on time, they were clean and did an amazing job. And finished the job in a timely manner and provided pictures of their work. WOULD RE-HIRE ASAP!

I called them for an estimate, they came out the same day. Several days later, I called and schedule the job for the following Monday at 7am. They were on time. They put up the forms set the drains and lifted and suspended the A/C unit. They took extra care to be sure that the concrete sloped to the drains. They came back the next day to lower the A/C unit. The clean up was very good. The job was done fantastically, very professional. I couldn't have been more pleased.

I got 4 sources from Angie's List who gave me estimates but they were priced high as I felt they over-estimated the work to be done. The one was had considered I later found out would sub-contract the concrete work (which was 95% of the job) and that part was under-estimated and he took time to respond to me several times. After a month later, I searched on Angie's List again and ServiceMagic and found 2 likely contractors.and both estimates were comparable. I choose Dan Gerber because he was quick to react (I was leaving town for several months), kept in close communication, very customer oriented without pressuring me and he seemed to sincerely want to do the best job he could for a reasonable price. I made a wise choice. Not only did he get the job done quickly but he suggested several details to add to the job and did not even charge me extra for it. He suggested laying PVC pipes under the concrete to the planter area for possible sprinklers and electrical wiring for a fountain in the future and a separate concrete block to place a fountain, flower pot or statute on so it would be the same color as the concrete. He brought me rock and concrete color samples and even took time to take a photo of a fountain he saw while driving about and the finishers placed imprints of leaves "floating" on the ground at my request.

I called Dan on Wednesday after learning that the people I had originally thought were going to do our concrete on Friday told me they couldn't do it until Saturday. I explained the situation; that I needed a load of concrete but I didn't have finishers yet. Dan offered to find finishers, which wasn't easy on such short notice. After working the phones throughout the night and the following day, he found an experienced crew that made time to come to my house on Friday. Dan called me throughout the day on Thursday to make sure we were still on schedule. During the pour, Dan was on site, lifting rebar as they poured and did a fantastic job. I was so impressed with level of service provided, completely above and beyond.
