EA Construction Driveways-Hardscape-Pavers

They contracted me quickly after purchasing the deal, I called them back and didn't hear anything for about a week, so I called them back again. I spoke with Eric Austin because the design rendering did not have specifications , as stated in the deal. He said it would be a 2D layout of what I wanted. I wanted to make sure he had the specifications that I requested. He resisted every question I asked him about and he was was difficult to work with. He was not interested in supporting the project. He was saying I needed more of an architectural rendering, but I just needed him to add the dimensions in there. Nothing was accomplished and he oversold the project.

He was very nice and professional. He did the proper amount if follow up and did not get pushy. I have put my plans on hold but would consider him for the job should I proceed at a future date.

Renderings were useful to visualize what our backyard remodel would look like. Eric was very accommodating and friendly and put us in touch with other contractors for the portions of the project that he could not provide.

It was more of a hard sale. He did a digital analysis of what the backyard could look like. It was kind of a cheapish looking thing but for a hundred and fifty bucks I guess we shouldn't expect a lot. He just took pictures of the backyard and kind of dropped pictures in place of where things could be or how things could look like. I could have done that or visualized that on my own. I think he was using Angie's List as more of a hard sale to get the guy in here. He said he could do rock wall, planter bed, patio and gave me a price. It wasn’t really to see what I wanted but to see what he could get from me.

I met with owner and he was most personable and listened and offered verbal suggestions on front and backyard hardscape. He was very easy to talk to and listened to my requests. Unfortunately, I did not have any work done for unforeseen events that interferred with starting the work. I never asked or received a price for the work as we never spoke after he emailed me the 'pics'. I would definitely call back in future. His timeliness meant a lot to me and was hopefully an indication of attention to detail which would be very important to me.

The man who came out from Austin Landscape Construction was a very nice guy, but it was too expensive to do the work they quoted us. I wouldn't use him only because he has high prices.

The provider came to the house and we chatted about some potential upgrades/changes to our existing concrete patio area. He was friendly and professional but to us he seemed somewhat limited in his understanding of our style (mid-century/modern) and also it seemed that he didn't do much other than hardscape. He seemed to tend toward concrete work, dyed concrete, built-in bbq's, decking, etc. We were really looking for a complete vision for the patio from hard to softscapes. In the end, we weren't really thrilled with the final output rendering, however I also think that the computer software he was using was also limited in its available features vs. our vision. However, he was extremely nice and he sincerely wanted to be helpful. I felt that we both realized that this wasn't really a great fit in the end.

It was okay and I didn't quite understand the end product. There was some confusion as to what I actually getting. I was hoping to get more realistic rendering than what it turned out to be. I probably would not use them again.

The rendering that Austin Landscape Construction did was fine. I didn't end up using them for the actual landscaping project. They did not do the kind of work that I needed done. That wasn't his fault. I just didn't read the fine print. He's a nice enough guy.

We found Eric Austin and Austin Landscape Construction when we used an Angie's List Big Deal coupon to get a hardscape assessment and design rendering for the front of our house. Eric arrived on time and we discussed various options for what could be done. Eric listened and offered some suggestions but was never pushy and he was very respectful of our budget. We agreed on a plan and Eric and his foreman, Juan, showed up just when they said they would to start the job. From day one, Eric and Juan were very professional and very patient. I changed my mind on about three things during the course of the job and Eric was always very helpful and accommodating about all of it. I was so happy that we were able to find a real stone veneer to use on the front of our house and garage instead of the faux stone veneer that you see most places. This was a huge issue for me and Eric was great about calmly restructuring the job when I made this last minute change to our original plan. Eric and Juan even fixed some existing sprinkler problems as they rebuilt the retaining walls of the planter beds. When it came time to do the driveway, Eric and I talked about some different options and we eventually decided to go with a colored and stamped concrete. It was pretty amazing to see the difference in the driveway 28 days later when Eric came back to seal it. That detail just made the whole front yard come together! Eric and Juan worked very h****** our project and were very exacting about their work. We could not be more pleased with the final result and hope to use Austin Landscape Construction again when we are ready to tackle our back yard. I highly recommend Austin Landscape Construction. P.S. One of our cars had a broken seal on the oil pump and got oil all over the new driveway, but because it had been sealed, it cleaned up just fine with no traces of oil left at all!

Eric always kept in touch throughout the project and was very professional in all his work.

Austin Landscape Construction was fine and I had no worries at all. He came to my home and looked right at it. He was polite and he did what he said he would do. I would use them again.

Eric Austin and his foreman Juan exceeded my expectations. Eric started and finished the job on time. I was impressed with their workmanship. I purchased a Big Deal Coupon for $149 for Complete Landscape/Hardscape Assessment with Design Rendering. Eric listened to my ideas, made recommendations and came up with a design rendering. Based on that rendering, I decided to go forward with the work. I originally purchased the Big Deal, because I had drainage problems in my back yard. Whenever it rained hard, water would enter my home through the corner of my exterior walls and flood a portion of my back yard. I wanted to resolve this issue once and for all by repairing the drainage lines and installing pavers. After Eric showed me different types of pavers, I selected the pavers that I wanted. However, while Eric was working on the drainage lines, Eric presented an alternative to pavers -- he explained that I had the option of installing stamped concrete and reviewed pros/cons of both stamped concrete and pavers. Eric was always respectful of my wishes, but did not hesitate to advise me of my options. That's what I like about Eric -- I loved that he let me know what my options are, because I don't know everything about patio design, including all the materials that could be used to form a patio. I also wanted to install my parents' natural gas BBQ grill in the island that Eric was building. The cool thing is that Eric and Juan were able to build the BBQ island around the stand-alone BBQ grill. The measurements were perfect! Eric also installed a sink and faucet, a door, and drawers to store BBQ accessories. One of the coolest things that Eric did was install an umbrella holder in the BBQ island -- this is something that I didn't even think of. He also suggested making the island in such a way that bar stools could be placed under the counter so that my friends can talk to me while I am BBQ'ing. Erick returns in about 10 days to seal the concrete, and I can't wait to see the final product and start entertaining my friends and family. I plan on using Eric and his company for Phase 2 of my backyard landscaping, followed by work in my front yard and driveway.

To be fair, Eric offered a decent rendering of one possibility for our space. We just were not motivated to act on his suggestions.

See above. Work was NOT PERFORMED as promised. I received an email from Eric Austin on April 3, 2013 stating that he would have Angie's list refund my money. To date 4-20-2013 he has not done so.

This is the 3rd and most recent project that Eric has completed for me. Again, he did a great job despite a lot of weather interruptions and delays in December 2012. This was a very challenging project that I needed completed within a budget and done within a certain timeframe. He was able to get creative and was able to pull off a VERY large scale concrete pour which was about 25 yards of concrete (2 1/2 concrete trucks) and many concrete finishers. He was able to offer us some insight based on his experience with some successful layout design options. We were thrilled to have the advice and took it. Now, we have a lot of space to design a large pergola for an outdoor dining area, a large patio sitting area where an outdoor fireplace and built-in BBQ will eventually be built, and walkways throughout the remainder of a very large and long backyard. The backyard looks great and we now have the foundation built for some amazing future projects which we expect will be performed by Eric Austin.

Eric Austin did EVERYTHING he said he would do and more. He was very accommodating to our ideas as to how we wanted the ultimate project to look like. He was involved in every step and would make sure that we were happy with the results along the way. He was timely and completed the project in the time frame that he promised he would. He is one of the few trustworthy contractors that I know. This was the 2nd of 3 large hardscape projects that he has completed at my house and have had an excellent experience with all 3. I expect he will be doing another 1 or 2 large projects for me in the near future. Hire this guy.

He was very prompt and professional, but too pricey for me.

He is primary hard scape and we just needed landscape, however he was very nice.

Eric Austin was very communicative via email the entire process which made it very easy to discuss all of the terms of the job, the contract, the timeline, the price, insurance, etc. I was very pleased to see him do such a beautiful job in a way that almost seemed effortless. He was very flexible in accommodating my schedule, my timeline, my pay terms, my aesthetic desires. Overall, he did a great job. I had about 6 contractors bid on this job and he was the only one that showed up when he said he would, offered suggestions on the best design ideas, provided me with a rendering of how my house would look with the new driveway (which helped solidify my decision to go with colored/stamped concrete) and was competitively priced. The bottom line is that Eric is a great guy and can be trusted to be a fair and reliable partner in your project. He was transparent from the beginning and I would not hesitate to hire him again for any landscaping/hardscaping projects in the future.

He was very easy to work with and easy to contact. We loved his ideas and his willingness to give us what we wanted. We also chose him because he has an artistic eye. He did our neighbor's driveway, hardscape, and landscaping, which is beautiful and artistic. They recommended him to us. We are very happy with our finished project! We highly recommend him.

A stellar construction experience. Austin's Landscape Construction showed up as promised and immediately began the demolition of the existing deck, hardscape and vegetation. They worked diligently for a couple of days removing and hauling the debris to prepare the site for the 1,100 square feet concrete patio. They arrived promptly each day as they systematically constructed the stone landings, stone planter and stone border. They then prepared the forms and poured the concrete on the date originally scheduled for completion and finished it off with a beatifully scored diagonal diamond pattern. We are thrilled with our new patio. We received high quality work from a professional company at an extremely fair price. What more can you ask for?
