I just moved to the state and was overwhelmed with a garage full of packing boxes in no particular order.. When I called and said what I needed, they called back in only a few hours. The next day a hard working, very pleasant man showed up and organized the garage so I would know where to look for the things I need. I couldn't be more pleased and will definitely call the company again.

He did a really good job. He did all this workout side when I was not home. I wanted to hang up some exterior sun shades, 2 large ones that were about 9x6. He explained to me what he was going to do and that service was great. I even sent him some pictures of where I wanted them put up and what they looked up. They look good and that service was great.

The crew that did the work appeared competent, but I like how the owner, Warren, doubled checked his guys' work. Warren did not like how they rigged the ducting in the attic and redid it himself before calling the job complete. Warren could have left things the way they were and I would not have known any better. Because I had to run to the hardware store for a few items for the crew, Warren reduced the price by what I had to purchase, plus my mileage. Very fair business owner!

I needed my sliding doors on my closet repaired and my bathroom towel rack and closet shelf installed. When I came home, he had fixed my closet door but the main door in the master bedroom was not fixed and was still broken, the towel rack had been installed twelve inches from the place that I had specified. I let the service provider know that I was unhappy with the service and he didn't fix what I had hired him to fix. We communicated back and forth and he kept saying that he had made all of the necessary repairs even though it is still broken.

There was one problem. For some reason one of the doors on the cabinets didn't close properly and there was a little bit of a gap there. He told me if there was anything wrong that he would come back and fix it but he never really got around to it and I had put the house on the market and it sold within a few weeks, so there was no point to him coming back after that. And that was that.

The fine print said "no appliances" not "no electrical." After purchasing the deal, I told them I needed electrical work done and they stated that they could not do that work. Their fine print was not inclusive enough apparently.

Before I purchased the $125.00 for 2 hours on Angies' List I contacted the provider and told him that I wanted a ceiling fan installed in my family room. The room is already wired for a ceiling fan. The difficulty is that the ceiling is 18 feet high. I wanted to make sure that they had a ladder that would be tall enough. I was asked to send pictures of the front door and the area that the ladder would have to go through to get to the family room. I did that and was told they could do the job. There was a conversation about how long it would take to install and I was told to have a list of other things that needed to be done.When I finally made the appointment to have them come out, I reminded them that I was the person with the really high ceilings and that they needed a huge ladder. I was given an appointment for May 27 between 9:00 and 9:30.On the day of the appointment Warren calls and says that he's stuck in traffic and will be there at 10:00. Fine with me I understand traffic. Again I said I hope you have your big ladder with you. Upon arrival Warren comes in and looks at the ceiling and realizes that his 12 foot ladder was not tall enough for him to do the job. My sister gets on the computer and finds a place that will rent a 16 foot ladder for $45.00. Of course Warren has to go and pick up the ladder and bring it to the house. He then spent about an hour installing the fan, but because of picking up the ladder and then returning it, 3 hours have gone by. When he returned from dropping off the ladder, I asked him where we were as far as time. He replied that I owed him an extra hour. I disagreed with that assessment and he informed me that he had clients lining up for his services and left.Without the running back and forth for the ladder he would have time to install a second ceiling fan. How many times did I need to tell him that the ceiling was 18 feet?I was really disappointed that this didn't go better as I had other projects that I would have wanted him to do.In the end I paid $170.00 for a ceiling fan installation.

most communication was done by email, which I prefer. After some emailing back and forth, we settled on a date for Warren to stop by and look at my wiring and what needed to be done. Then he gave me an estimate, etc. I bought the fan based on the measurements and features that he recommended. His team installed it while I was at work. There was slight damage to my ceiling because of a misstep in the attic; Warren was professional about that and sent someone out the next day to repair it and repaint. The fan looks excellent.

He was punctual and the services were performed professionally. Will call him back for future services.

Hawley and Sons went over and above on their work for our non profit. Very trustworthy. Able to deal with project challenges. Work was so impressive they were recognized as a model by our Federal funding source.

Overall, the service was good, professional and I would call company back. A few, minor things where corrected before leaving but nothing serious.

I paid them extra because the work took longer than the 1 hour of the Big Deal. They put together a bookshelf and a desk. I had the wrong pieces so they had to go back to the store, return what I bought and get the right pieces. Then they came back and put it together. Then he switched out one of my light fixtures. Then he fixed my dog run gates. I liked that he went and did the work for me. Most places would say, well, I can't finish the job because I didn't have the right equipment. He just went ahead and went to the store and got the bookshelf that I needed. They are capable of doing a number of different things.

From our first contact to obtain a quote to the final touch-up work, it was a pleasure working with Rick Hawley. Everyone was responsive, on-time (or called if they were delayed) and patiently answered all of our questions. They were extremely careful while in our home and very, very accommodating. They paid attention to the details of the job and made an extra effort to assure we were satisfied. We are pleased with their work and so happy we chose Hawley. The price was commensurate with the work performed. We will use this contractor again in the near future.

Went very well. Warren worked at a good pace, showed up on time and was especially helpful in helping to get the right replacement parts for an older bathroom ceiling fan. He went out of his way to go to a specialty hardware store he new of to get parts that would work with the older fan housing. Very professional service.

Hawley did communicate with me, saying he could do it the next day, which was not possible for me. There were a few communications after that, but it took him many days to return my emails, and he didn't seem particularly interested in doing the job.

We purchased this deal to have a few things done around the house. We were told to give them three dates that would work for us and we did. The contacted us via email asking for more information. They told us that they would be able to do the work the following week however that next week they said that they would not be able to do the work. I asked them several times to contact me via phone and gave them our phone number however they continued to contact us via email. It was a terrible experience for us

I found Hawley & Sons by doing some research on Angie's List. Based on previous reviews and proximity to my home, I made an inquiry about handyman services. Mr. Hawley responded to my inquiry promptly. Via Angie's List messages, we scheduled an appointment for an estimate of the work I wanted done. Mr. Hawley arrived exactly on time, was friendly and professional, and his price was right; so we scheduled the work. On the day the jobs were to be done, Mr. Hawley again arrived right on time, was friendly and professional, and did a fine job with the repairs. My wife and I are very pleased with his work and we will call on him for some future work that we have planned.

Not pleased at all. Initial contact after purchase of a special $125 for 2 hours of handyman work requested 3 different days and times that the services could be provided that would work in my schedule. Offered another day that I didn't choose, but made it work. Asked what I would like done and was very clear about what was needed in writing. Once the day and time were set was asked to change the time to 5 hours later, changed my plans again to accommodate their schedule. Did give me 4 days advance warning of schedule change. On the day the work was to be done they were running late and asked again what I would like done and I reminded them. They had to stop on the way to the house to get supplies but didn't get all that was needed. I was charged for the time they shopped for the items and once they came to the house, there was very little they could do so they replaced a tub spout and then said they'd have to come back but they could spend a few minutes doing any other jobs I might need. So I had them tighten up loose doorknobs and asked for some bathroom fixtures to be tightened, they did one but not the other. We then started negotiations for how much more I would need to spend to get the work done I had originally requested. Was told it would be $200 more (which was for replacement equipment), plus another fee for the truck to come back, plus an additional $55/hour for the work. They generously offered to honor one hour of the original price, making sure they knew I was getting a deal from their original price of $65/hour. I still needed the work done so I reluctantly set up another appointment, for later the next month. I made arrangements in my calendar to be home when the appointment was set up three weeks in advance. Found out 4 days before the appointment that this would no longer work in their schedule as they had an important appointment and would be unavailable until at least 4 hours after the time scheduled. To me as a customer I had rearranged my schedule to make sure I was home again, and found later that it was a family conflict that kept them from being able to keep the original time. I understand family commitments and would have appreciated knowing that it was a family issue and not "an important appointment" that caused the cancellation of my appointment. I was made to believe there was another job that trumped mine. So I asked for a refund of the hour I was still owed and was reminded that I still owed them $25 for the tub spout. I will be getting a credit of $30 and all I got for my $125 investment was a new tub spout and the opportunity to discover a company that I could never recommend.

Mr. Hawley was very professional. He even called to let me know his ETA. He picked up the materials needed to replace the particle board under my kitchen sink which was damaged by a leaking garbage disposal. While replacing the particle board, Mr. Hawley noticed a leak in one of the pipes under the sink. He fixed the problem. I was very satified with the work Mr. Hawley performed. With his great business ethics and excellant work, I would use his company again for future repairs.

I am so very satisfied with my repair job from Hawley & Sons. I called them yesterday looking for someone to come & fix my side wooden gate, which was coming apart because of the rain. They had a good rating on Angie's list, so that's why I called them. I talked to Warren & he was very polite & said he could come out the next day & look at my gate. Sure enough, He called this morning & came out promptly. He did a beautiful job of strengthening all the boards and making it look like new. And he was so polite, I really enjoyed talking with him as well. I am so impressed with his work, that if I ever need a Handyman in the future, he is the one I will call and give references to my friends, as well. His price was very reasonable, as well. Thanks Warren for a great job.

He arrived on time, completed what I needed, and then since I had purchased services for two hours and he was done before asked me what else he could do around the house and then did it.

Mr. Hawley was punctual and professional. He was very helpful and explain clearly what could be included in the special and let me know before he started a task if it was going to cost extra. I will definitely be calling Hawley and Sons in the future for more jobs around the house.

The people who came and did the job were very good. They cleaned up after themselves. They were very good at keeping the work that they were doing contained.

The technician was courteous, professional and completed the job quickly. I am very happy with the result.
