A courtesy call indicating that a previous customer and cancelled and was asked if it would be possible to show up earlier than planned. Careful and totally professional as to the scope of what had to be accomplished and was able to complete the job in an expedient manner. I needed to replace two cracked panels in my prefab firebox. I called three companies that gave similar quotes which seemed high to me. I then called Kelley, the owner of Safe and Warm who gave me a quote significantly lower than the others. He came to my house that afternoon and did the job. His expertise and knowledge of the project was obvious. While he did the work he gave me many helpful hints in dealing with the fireplace in the future. When he finished the job my fireplace area was cleaner than before. I highly recommend him.

Kelly saved the day after I fired first chimney service for lack of service. Kelly arrived on time and was fully certified and experienced and gave me an honest assessment of work needed to make my chimney and firebox safe. Did the work fast and at a fair price too! Had a fire later that evening...nice. Go with Kelly and his company if you want it done right!

I hired Kelly to clean our chimney and inspect the chimney cap because we have had water coming into the fireplace below and the wall directly next to the chimney column. When we spoke Kelly told me he would physically inspect the chimney on the roof because of the leak, I knew it wasn't the roof that was leaking. He told me the cost would be $175 for the cleaning and inspection. I trusted that he knew what he was doing based on reviews and how he boasted about all the years of experience he has. He cleaned the chimney in less than half an hour (and it was extremely dirty) and gave me tips and instructions on how to build a fire. I never asked him for tips and instructions but thanked him. What I needed was the inspection of the chimney and asked if he was going to inspect the chimney cap. He said he had looked at it from inside the fireplace and had gone across the street to look at it and it was fine. I asked how he could possibly know it was fine by looking at it from two stories below and if it was fine why is it leaking. The chimney cap has a metal storm cover on top of the chase pan so is not visible from anywhere but the roof. He told me it wasn't the cap that was the problem and he knew what he was doing. I asked him again why it was leaking if it was fine and he became annoyed and snippy. He didn't like that I was asking him this or questioning what he had done and he told me that and said I was just arguing with him. He suggested I hire someone to inspect where the leak was coming from because it was not the cap, maybe it was the flashing. So I dropped it as I could see he was not being very nice and I did not want to be treated like that anymore. I paid him $175 for cleaning my chimney, which is basically all he did. It took awhile but I finally found a contractor to come inspect the flashing thinking he was right. Roofing companies will not come out for that type of job, I was told to hire a handyman. A contractor inspected the flashing and roof and said that they were both fine. He then inspected the chimney cap and saw that the chase cover around the flue was not sealed properly and that the water that collects there was running down next to the pipe and into the house. The cost to fix this would be $300. I had to have it done, but am very angry that Kelly did not perform the inspection that he was supposed to do when he was here. He would have found the problem. I hired him thinking he was a professional chimney sweep. He cleaned my chimney but was rude and treated me, the customer horribly!!! I have since learned that a professional chimney sweep should inspect the cap and chase pan for rust and corrosion which are common sources of leaks in chimneys. And a professional chimney sweep welcomes questions and treats their customers with respect. I have never been treated so poorly by anyone!! Kelly claims to have over 25 years experience in chimney building and cleaning but he is not in my opinion a profess

Thanks to Kelly, we have a nice, clean, and safe chimney. He went beyond the call of duty and returned to our place after being unable to reach us when he first arrived on time. Our fault entirely, the phone ringer was turned down and husband was outside.

Kelly cleaned and inspected 3 chimney's, he did a great job with his inspections and i felt he was very honest in telling me that 2 of the fireplaces were perfect and didn't need any cleaning. Only 1 needed to be cleaned and 2 needed some minor parts, which he provided. The price was great!! Thanks Kelly
