 + -1 moreMy house is a single story, 1600 sqft house with a garage. Nothing crazy. Very accessible. I needed just over 200 linear ft of gutters installed. The estimate came back at about $1850. It was the highest I received out of 4 total estimates I got (all others were also Angie's list companies, also with A ratings). I did not use Halo, because I did not see the value in paying the higher price. In fact, the price was so high I didn't see the point in starting negotiations. The lower end of the spectrum was around $1300. I didn't use that one either, because that provider uses spikes to attach gutters to house, which are not as secure as brackets. I don't know if Halo uses spikes or brackets, but I write this because I want the reader and provider to understand that I did educate myself on this subject before making a decision. And so, I went with another Angie's lister that uses secure Raytec brackets and the work came to $1500 total.
Description of Work: The provider gave an estimate. He was 30 minutes late, and I had to hurry to leave before he was done. The guy was nice though and followed up with a phone call the next day.

 + 0 morei asked for an estimate regarding how many coupons i would need to buy to get new gutters placed.... the owner told me to buy the max in coupons (5) and it didnt matter if i over bought (mind you, on the site, the coupon said for an average house to buy 3 coupons)... and per the owner, if i did over buy, i could NOT use the credit towards the spouts.... i then asked, can they come out and measure so that i know how many coupons to buy and he said "no".... that if they came out, that i could no longer buy the coupons (even though the special was going on for two more weeks).... instead, i would have to buy the coupons blind first..... this didn't make any sense at all I could have called any company to come out for an estimate and get the measurement of the linear feet but i told the owner that i got their name from Angies list and that i did plan on using his services.... but this didn't seem to matter.... money only seemed to matter.... i was very disappointed
Description of Work: nothing basically..... it just seemed like he was trying to get me to buy too many coupons..... he even said that the deal on angie's list wasn't "making any money" for him but he decided to continue it for a couple more weeks

They office was polite, professional and made every effort to accommodate my special request as to when and how to contact me. (I work nights and my hours are a bit crazy.) The day of installation the team was on time, well organized and extremely efficient and effective. In fact, they even finished and cleaned up the job a full day and a half early. Over all the experience was surprisingly painless. If you need a new roof or repairs, I Highly recommend working with Halo Roof!

 + 0 moreThe appointment with the estimator was set up within the following week. The estimator visit was free and he was professional and took the necessary measurments to perform the job. The written job estimate was not provided as promised, but was sent to us by e-mail the next day and the date for the job was set for the following week. The estimator visited our house a second time to obtain additional measurements and pick up the job deposit check. We were very fortunate that the owner of Halo Roofing, Ron, was on site for our job. The Halo Roofing crew arrived on time and started to remove the old gutter and fuscia board. The estimator had not measured the height of the fuscia board so Ron had to go back to purchase the lumber. The rest of job was accomplished very professionally. The fuscia board was cut, primed, and painted (paint supplied by homeowner) prior to installation. To accommodate the 55 ft gutter length, the work site was cleared. Ron took the time to explain to me how the seamless gutter is produced from his truck. The fuscia board and gutter were installed and the work site was cleaned up and the trash hauled away.

 + -1 moreI was very happy with the whole experience. I called for an appointment to get an estimate. Their representative Herb arrived on time for our appointment. He went on roof to examine and took measurements and then discussed at length the various roofing material options. I received a written estimate by email two days later. They started the job a week later. They arrived by 8:00AM everyday and worked until 5:00PM. They cleaned up everyday. They said it would take 5 days to complete and they finished in 4 1/2 days. The job manager was there everyday and the owner and Herb came by several times to check on things also. They were all very professional and it was a very good experience. I would definetly use them again.
Description of Work: They provided complete new roof for my ranch style home and a shed in my back yard. They also replaced two skylights on my patio roof and installed rain gutters on front of house.

 + -1 moreThe job went great at every stage. Ron gave me a fast quote which was within the range of prices I had been quoted. I knew it was going to be a pricey job because every roof that had ever been on the house had to be removed and, like every structure this old,...there were bound to be problems that would have to be dealt with. Rons guys came ontime every day and Ron himself was often on-hand and was always easy to reach when i had a question. The new roof is beautiful and really makes the house look fresh. The clean up was complete. The yard was cleaner after they left than it was when they got there!
Description of Work: Halo Roofing completed a tear-off, plywood sheeting, and re-shingle of my 110 year old two story house. A complicated roof on a big old house with lots of dormers and extra peaks and valleys. Even the gutters were installed with precision.

We report one minor leak on one rain gutter joint. Halo fixed leak within 24 hours. Absolutely no issues with roof. We love our new roof. Would gladly recommend Halo Roofing.

 + -1 moreAvi came to perform an estimate, and then came again to show color samples. He was very accommodating to my schedule. The workers arrived and completed the work in just a few hours, finishing when I wasn't there, which was fine. They used their own equipment and left the premises exactly as they found it, except for the new work done. The installation is brand new and I will monitor the effectiveness, but the work was well done. They were fast and easy to work with via phone and email, and very friendly.
Description of Work: They replaced gutters on my small home with a flat roof. The existing gutters were installed just a few years ago by a handyman type provider, and were not doing the job. Water was pooling in them and was gushing onto a wall, causing water damage. They determined that we needed more slope in the gutters to drain water away better. They installed new aluminum gutters (much better than the plastic which were warping) in a color that matches the house.

Several options were presented to us, and they got on the roof and conducted a quick "experiment" for us to ensure that the 6" gutters that they were recommending fit our needs before installing. Their team was professional. We work with a lot of contractors (we're renovating our home), and this was a great experience.
Description of Work: Halo Roofing supplied and installed gutters on the roof of our garage/guest house, approximately 25 feet with down spouts and a catch basin. We own a Spanish style home with a complicated roof line (hacienda), and Halo spent considerable time ensuring us that the gutters would match our drainage needs - this was not a simple job.

 + 0 moreProject was started on 9/4/12 and the roof installation was completed on 9/6/12. Clean up was very sloppy. The gutter was installed on 9/21/12. The contractor failed to install a "point of connection blocking" required by the Department of Water and Power immediately. It was finally done on 12/8/12 and the DWP completed the connection on 12/31/12. The roof ing supplier GAF who will provide the material warranty inspected the roof on 12/19/12 and deemed the roof an exellent installation.

 + -1 moreGREAT! They were able to get everything set up for the work on Monday after coming out for the estimate just the Wednesday prior. All work was completed by Wednesday afternoon. We were so comfortable with Ron that we had him move our car back into our driveway after his trailer was done since we were leaving town (as in we did not stay to make sure the work was completed correctly because we were that comfortable it would not be an issue). Additionally, Ron and Avi were VERY communicative about timing, what we could expect and making sure that our curious kids would not be injured by any of the work or materials (they were careful to pick up at the end of each of the three days and even used a magnet to make sure no nails would be in the grass that my kids like to run around barefoot in). They worked directly with my HVAC installer to work out the details and everything looks great. They are even helping me with an issue that has arisen when I went to get my DISH satellite re-installed. I would definitely use HALO again. As a matter of fact, I was so comfortable working with Ron I was bummed to learn he does windows too as I had just signed with another company a few days prior. I would have loved to give Ron my window business too -- that's how comfortable I felt working with him and his company.
Description of Work: We were installing a new HVAC and that provider brought his roofer to give an estimate of the work needed. When we were told we needed a new roof (Tuesday morning) I had to quickly get a second estimate as the work was scheduled to start the following Monday. I looked all over Angie's list and most of the roofing companies I viewed had mostly A's. Of all the companies I looked at ONLY HALO had all A's. I gave them a call Tuesday afternoon and they came out Wednesday morning. Ron and Avi were great. They went up and told me they agreed with the other roofer in that my roof might last a few years but it was hard to tell. Since i had a leak and most of my shingles were damaged it would be better to re-roof at the same time the HVAC was being installed as all the seals would be much better and it is the correct way to handle projects of this nature. Ron also took the time to explain the products and their warranty, what is involved to be certified by GAF and that GAF comes to inspect the work themselves and would make Ron and his team repair anything that was not up to their standards. This made me feel very comfortable since GAF would be responsible for any materials issues that arise so I know they would not approve anything that was not done properly. We agreed to re-roof the house and detached garage.

 + -1 moreAfter calling and making an appointment, I received an estimate from the owner of Halo Roofing. Ron described the condition of the shingles that were on the roof and that I needed a new roof. We talked about the process of removing the old roof, cleaning up, and installing a new roof. Ron gave me a sample of the GAF shingles and lots of written info that I was able to share with my family. I received a free written estimate via email and a follow-up call. After considering the other estimates I had received, meeting personnel from other companies, and reading the reviews on Angie's List, I decided on Halo Roofing. Ron brought the contract and encouraged me to ask all and any questions I wanted. I had a list of concerns, so we covered the list- item by item. I am very pleased with how the roof turned out (ahead of schedule I might add). The workers were on the job on time, worked diligently, were safety conscious, considerate of some special needs that I had, and cleaned up thoroughly each day. Ron called and came to the job site to supervise the removal of tons of old roofing. I highly recommend Halo Roofing Company. Bring on the rain!
