AC Repair – there is a huge gradient of HVAC installers out there and you really need to do a lot of research and ask questions before settling on an installer. In my case, I had a 35-year-old house and the Furnace was about 15 years old: AC was older. The Compressor died and it was not cost effective to just replace the condenser. The ducting needed serious attention (2600 sq. foot, 2 story house). I had quotes as low as $7k for just changing the AC/Compressor (using the existing furnace) to $26k for a complete HVAC replacement. After talking to a number of installers, I quickly learned that some did a thorough job explaining what work needed to be done. Some suggested solutions that were code violations. Others provided only partial quotes AC replacement (didn’t even go into the attic to look at the system). Some quoted a 6 hour install and some quoted that it would take a week or so. I selected Fusion Star because after talking with Sean, I had a high confidence in their ability to professionally execute the installation. I asked a lot of questions and talked about various alternatives. Sean answered each question with a depth of knowledge that was very impressive. Additionally, he was able to clearly articulate the pro’s and con’s of each alternative. Fusion Star was also knowledgeable and helpful about Energy Rebate programs and helped to select a system that earned us a $1.3k rebate from SCE. We also upgraded our ducting system to increase the overall effectiveness of the HVAC system. We also zoned the upper and lower sections of the house. To be clear, Fusion Star is not the least expensive installer out there. That being said, confidence in a contractor will give you peace of mind and reduce your overall stress. The job was completed on time and on budget. As with any installation, the are a few bugs to work out and Sean has been on top of any issue in a timely manner. As a side note, if you get a permit the installation will need to be inspected. Both the HERS tester as well as the Calabasas Building inspector were impressed with the professional installation of the HVAC and went into detail discussing this with me. I highly recommend Fusion Star for your HVAC needs.

By removing ALL the old duct work from my attic and walls and installing all new duct work, sealing intake vents that were not properly sealed, fixing *many* issues that were due to a mickey-mouse type installation by the previous company, and splitting my house into 3 A/C zones, Fusion Star made my existing A/C unit MORE than well-equipped to handle the hottest summer the valley could possibly bring. Shawn (the owner) also gave me the 3rd zone addition at no extra cost, I'm still not sure why, it was a very unexpected and generous gesture. The employees were personable and polite - they were both long-time employees of the company and I felt completely safe and comfortable with them working in my house (and just talking to them in general - very personable guys). When I told people about what I had done to my house, I had them guess how much it cost, and most of their guesses came in close to twice as much as the actual cost. I'm still not sure how they managed to do everything they did and turn a profit, which is the hallmark of a successful company. If asked for a recommendation, Fusion Star would be the only company i would recommend to anybody needing A/C installation, duct work, zoning, and apparently a lot of other very advanced jobs they do for larger properties or commercial buildings. I spent a lot of time talking to Shawn while the work was being done and he and his team are the definition of a class act. The job took about 3 days as I recall, and was very labor intensive. Again, I was blown away at the low amount on the final bill. The amount of money I'm saving on electricity by having a triple-zoned system will probably pay for the cost of this job in the long run anyway. This was by far the best experience I've ever had with any A/C company - and I have had many, as a multiple-home owner in a couple of very hot cities. I would recommend them over anybody else.

It turned out great. They performed high quality work and everything was completed according to code.

I had previously had a bad experience with one of the larger AC companies in the Valley, but needed to replace my old ducts in the attic. I checked with various companies and ended up using Fusion Star, Inc. based in Woodland Hills. I dealt with Sean Marciano, President of the Company, and at our first meeting he looked over both my equipment and the old ductwork in my attic. The 30-year old ductwork was in bad shape and much of the insulation had split from the existing ducts. He went over everthing in detail and explained the options. I decided on the R-8 Flex, even though it cost a bit more, because it was the most efficient and highest quality. Sean explained that the job would take 2 days and his crew arrived at 8:00 a.m. each morning and worked the whole day in removing and discarding all the old ductwork despite temperatures over 100 degrees! Paper was laid on the floor to the attic entrance. Each of the entrances to the attic were sealed with plastic and each evening they cleaned up. After cleaning all the existing duct boots and cans, the new R-8 ducts were installed and sealed. The air ducts were redesigned and enlarged to be compatible with the air pressure of the System and distribute the air flow throughout the house. The sealing is very important so that no air excapes and the pressure is correct. His crew was very friendly and made sure we were inconvenienced as little as possible. After the first day, Sean decided he would add an extra worker to ensure that everything would be completed on time as promised and they were able to have it all complete at the end of the second day. After installing the new registers the System was turned on and you could really feel the volume of cold air had increased substantially. The house cooled down much quicker and you could feel the air coming from the registers like when the house was new. Sean arranged for a company to come out to check the pressure from both the intake and the outlets themselves. All the registers had to be taped up to do this testing. The numbers were then put into a report which would be presented to the city for issuing the Permit. The inspector came the next week and Sean was there to answer any questions which might arise. Sean was very open, always returned my calls promptly and explained everything clearly. He prides himself in the work and will be honest with you about doing the work correctly. His work is first rate and my experience has been very positive. With Sean you are dealing with the owner of the business, not some salesperson on commission, and he makes sure everything is done right and you are happy. You really get what you pay for!

Sean really took over in helping me fix and clean my mothers home air conditioner who was in hospice there at the time. He was honest, kind, fast and thorough. He followed up for maintenance the following year, and was kind enough to wait as she had just passed to follow up again. He was reasonably priced, didn't try to sell me on things I didn't need for her home (especially since I was so concerned for her care and comfort and stressed out enough). I needed someone to not take advantage of the situation, and he did not! Thank you Sean for everything! I've already recommended him to others. Top notch service!!

He provided a very detailed report. I have not gone forward with the project yet because I am remodeling. However, I will contact him when I replace my air ducts. He came when he said. He took his time to understand what I was telling him. He gave me a quote the next day after he came to my home for the inspection.

This is a very honest company. I had gotten a quote from another company that said I needed to spend $1,300 to have my air ducts replaced. This company informed me that I did not have to do that, and they cleaned my air ducts for me instead.

We have central A/C and heater that only cools and heats half of our ranch style house. We have had this A/C and heater unit installed about 7 years ago. After the 1st year of installation, the past installer came out a few times and were never able to solve the problem. We just gave up on it. One day my family member told me she has HVAC work done by Fusion Star Inc. She is very happy about the quality of work and the professionalism from the owner and the crew. Everyday Sean would let us know when he and his crew would show up. He would brief us on what type of work would be done for the day. His plan was logical and well thought through. Even though there was a couple bad weather days, Sean was able to work around it and keep the schedule. Sean and his crew would come everyday in the morning and leave at the end of the day. The crew always spent their time setting up and taking down their work area. We don't need to worry about cleaning up any messes after them. Fusion Star Inc. has provided quality work from start to finish. They took pride of their work and did not rush through steps. Sean has the eyes for details. Sean and his crew made sure the house return to its original state (in our case, better) after the work. Sean insisted work to be done properly and completely. Sean always elicits feedbacks from us. We have never met another contractor that has taken care of us as much as he has. We had some other non-HVAC improvements that needed attentions, Sean and his team jumped on those tasks with his talents as a general contractor. Fusion Star Inc. will be my goto contractor when we need help next time.
