TOP NOTCH GARAGE DOORS

Bernie was great. He was prompt, professional, clean, attentive, and when done our new door worked wonderfully. The battery back-up we wanted is a real plus. I have already recommended him to a co-worker and she also was very pleased with Bernie's work. I would not hesitate recommending Bernie again.

Bernie was not only early but worked extremely quickly during the install. He also installed a free outdoor keypad for my garage door which has been a huge benefit to me. If I have any further issues with my garage door or garage door opener, Bernie is the only guy I am calling. I have referred him to a number of my neighbors already. I am already contemplating replacing the doors with a much more expensive design, an again, i will work with Bernie to do so.

For the first time I used Angie's List to find heip. I looked for a gargage door repair in the neighborhood and came across Top Notch. I gave them a call explained the problems I was having. They said they could come out that afternoon and would take a look at the garage to see what could be done. The repairman showed up a little earlier than expected. Saw my broken spring. Said he would replace both springs. Since once one breaks the other soon follows. I also showed him the tear in one of the panels. He said he thought he maybe able to reinforce that section. As it turned out he was able to fix the tear. Replaced both springs with longer stronger springs. Garage door opens and closes with no problems. Thank you, David Forman

To soften the blow of the service call fee for a five minute fix, he lubed and adjusted the opener. Very pleasant man, seemed to know what he was doing, very professional.

I have had a lot of trouble with my garage door over the years. It, evidently, was not installed properly originally. Time after time, I have had people come out to address the problem of it not closing or closing only part way. I am going out of town this week-end and I was worried that something bad would happen just before I left and I wouldn't have the time to get someone out. I called Bernie and even though he had 2 big jobs, he came out at the end of his busy day to accommodate me. He looked the door over and figured out the problem, the cables. One was tighter than the other. He adjusted them, lubricated everything and the door works perfectly. He is such a nice person, and he didn't try to sell me a $1,500 door. I even got a discount because of Angie's list. I'm so glad to have him on my list of excellent tradesmen.

Bernie arrived right on time (or maybe even a little early). He is a very personable man who appears to understand garage doors well and knew almost immediately what was needed to fix the problem. He replaced the rollers and tightened everything up and the door now functions beautifully. I can't tell you how much I appreciate his prompt, excellent, and reasonably-priced service. I would recommend him to anyone and will definitely call him in the future if the door presents problems again.

Bernie came right out, and recommended that the other 3 springs on the door be replaced, as well as the hinge apparatus. He looked at my other garage doors and told me that they were fine. I appreciated his honesty and that he didn't try to get more work. He replaced the 4 springs right away and came back the next day to do the rest of the work. He was professional, fast, reliable and trustworthy.

The interaction with them was fantastic. I called them in to do the evaluation. They came out and did the evaluation, by the next morning, it was all done. They were very professional, great, on time and clean.

The old garage door when being lowered it got stuck and was crushed. I called two garage door companies from Angie's list for a diagnosis and estimate. I liked Top Notch the best because Bernie was bidding a higher quality door (thicker steel gauge), probably bidding better hardware and knew the exact issues with the door installation since he is both quoter and installer. His price was only slighter higher than for a lower quality door. His installation required a number of detailed adjustments to the old installation which had not been a quality job. Bernie is very responsive and knowledgeable. Update - After a week or so some minor issues appeared - some rattles, door scraping frame, etc. Bernie cheerfully returned twice to fix the nagging problems. These problems were due in part to the prior frame which was used for this new door. Bernie took care of all issues. I was very pleased by his responsiveness, attitude and competence. I would highly recommend him.

I logged in to Angie's List at around 11 am today, 2-10-2011. I found a listing for 'Top Notch Garage Door Specialists' and liked their reviews. I called them at around 11:15 am. They just so happened to have had an opening on their schedule for the next 1 hour or so. They were not too far away from my home so they asked if they could come over now and take a look. The owner himself arrived at about 11:30 am and inspected my garage door. He told me that he thought it only needed routine maintenance and service. He commenced at about 11:35 am and was done by noon. The service was grade A, the personality was A+. Thanks 'Top Notch' and thanks again 'Angie's List'

This was a complete pleasurable experience. Wasting time with another AL company, (for whom I left a report) I called Top Notch and spoke with Bernie. We made an appointment that was very convienent and worked for my schedule. He was very prompt. He was able to assess the situation and went about fixing it. He was very reasonable in cost and I'm completely happy.

Bernie was extremely professional and honest. I had been told by another company that my garage door would have to be replaced which would have cast at least $1000.00. Bernie came over and saw the problem immediately. He told me that something was simply stuck up there and only charged my $60 for his time (after the Angie's List discount) and explained how to fix the door in the future if it get's stuck again (which I have done). I would highly recomend this company.

Bernie came on time, was very professional, and did a great job of installing the new opener. He even quickly tuned-up the garage door (adjustments, etc) which was a pleasant surprise to me. I would definitely use him again for future jobs.

Bernie came same day I called. Gave me a quote and completion date. The quote was very reasonable and competitive with other quotes I received. He completed the work exactly on schedule. The door is working perfectly. I would defiitely call Bernie again if I had problems with my garage door or the opener.

Great experience. Bernie is easy to work with and courteous - responsive and on top of things. It did take 3 weeks for the door to be built, but that was for a custom size as our opening is not standard at all. He was flexible on installation date, and very professional. Highly recommended.

Bernie was very responsive to phone calls, and was able to come the quickest on a Saturday. He was punctual and worked quickly. Although only one spring was broken I took his advice and had both replaced. The price he charged was comparable to other companies I called, and he included the Angie's list discount and all taxes, labor, etc. I would definitely recommend this company, and I took several of his business cards so that I can refer other neighbors (there are about 110 identical garages in our condo complex, so that's lots of potential business!).

Bernie was very prompt and professional, and within 15 minutes he not only had the door opened, but he had bent everything back well enough for the door to open and close properly. The bottom panel is still a little dinged, and the weatherstripping needs replacement, but I was stunned that he was able to get it working again so quickly. I thanked him profusely for rearranging his schedule for me, and happily paid him $100 for his time. I was only an hour late to work. :)
