They came out and charged $250 to tell me that my ice maker was broken which I already knew. They wanted to repair it. It was pretty pricey but not as pricey as I have spent before. They're very expensive to run. It was 20% - 30% less than the gentleman who came out of Subzero before. I didn't end up getting it fixed by them. He did come one time before and it was totally fine. He was very nice. They came out right away and they were very, very nice on the phone. They were very nice and very respectful. He bent over backwards just to try to do the best for the least amount of money.
Description of Work: They had to clean out the system underneath and repair a couple of spots.

Description of Work: After our kitchen was remodeled there were two problems with my professional viking - one of the oven hinges was broken and one of the burner igniters. Got a quick appointment and both problems immediately resolved.

Luckily they had the 1 part in his truck. What I did not like was the 5 hour time frame where I had to take time off and wait at home. When I called call center for quicker time frame. The dispatcher said they would be in touch shortly. After an hour and a half without a call, they said they would call the repair guy again. Eventually we got a call telling us technician would be with us shortly after he finishes up another job. The good thing about GE is since it was only 8 months, they gave us a check for $200.

Description of Work: I spent $75.00 to be told that my trash compactor would cost over $600.00 to repair because the motor was shot and the rods were frozen. I almost bought a new one when a friend volunteered to look at it. I learned that the problem was that I had gotten some plastic bags jammed on the rods. we were able to clean out the rods and it works fine. My question is why couldn't the professional figure that out?

Our experience with Sears Appliances started off good- they were very responsive with the company sending a technician out soon after our call early on Saturday morning. They quoted $45 to diagnose the problem and provide a repair quote. Like everyone else I called, the $45 was to apply as a credit against any repair job. It was all downhill from there. The technician took 1+ hours to announce that he couldn't figure out the problem, thought it was maybe a "main board" malfunction and said the part would cost around $1,000 (later we found out it costs under $300). He then pressured my wife (I was gone) into paying him $250 and left. No follow up on the part, future repair- basically "I have no idea and you owe me $250, bye..." When I got home I see a receipt from a completely different repair company at a different address- not "Sears Appliances". When I called to complain they answered the phone with a different name (I don't recall it). When I asked if I had reached "Sears Appliances" the woman explained that since they "...do work for Sears, we call ourselves "Sears" on Angies List. They then admitted they sent an outside contractor and that they just "dispatch" other companies. When I asked about the $250 diagnostic charge, they told me to call the sub contractor company they sent out. I did and got the run around from the owner of that company- not a pleasant conversation. F+++
Description of Work: Issue was a refrigerator that was not reaching sufficient cold. Diagnostic analysis done.

I have no complaints about them. They came on time. They did what they said they are going to do. The guy was polite. They cleaned up after themselves.
