Spent about a week trying to get past a rude receptionist. Finally I receive a phone call from one of the sales reps and he comes out to give me an estimate. All I needed is one straight fence aprox 49 ft to cut my yard in half. He couldn't quote me on the spot, however he did send me an estimate for $975 via e-mail. I responded asking why such an outrageous price for such an easy job. This was on the 3rd and I have yet to hear back from them. I guess my business was just too little for them.
Description of Work: Absolutely nothing except waste my time and (if I can't get a refund) money.

Excellent. They're very easy to work with. They took a small job, something that other people don't want to do. They were prompt, couteous, good-priced and had good quality work. I had no problem with them. I have no complaints.

I contacted Steve Jones of Ed's Fencing three times over a period of 4 days and he never returned my calls or responded to my e-mails. When I asked his admin if I should consider his unresponsiveness a sign of disinterest, her response was "I leave your messages for him". it is now 2 1/2 weeks later and still no response. I will never understand why contractors think this type of behavior is acceptable.
Description of Work: I was asking for a quote on a 36" high by 10' long iron side fence with gate. The project ended up costing approx. $2000 with a different contractor.

EXCEPTIONALLY WELL. My initial call was answered and routed to a service representative. The rep returned my call when promised. He was very patient with me on the phone, then recommended that he come out to assess the job. He felt the gate (one of the two doors) could be repaired rather than construction an entire new gate. He worked on it for a while, but was not satisfied with it. He arranged to have a team of workers to come over to further assess and repair the gate. They arrived as promised (I received a call notifying me that they were on their way). After working for a while and not being satisfied, they took the one gate to the shop, returned with it, and re-assembled it. They repositioned the one post, and re-drilled a hole for the stop bar. The gate looks better than new.
Description of Work: The service rep returned my call when promised. After sharing information about the job, I realized that I was not giving his enough or proper information. He came over to assess the job. He attempted to repair the chain-link gates (two portions). Being unsuccessful he said his workers would be out the following morning to repair it on site, or take the damaged gate in to the shop to repair it. He thought that the gate could be repaired rather than replacing the entire unit. The next morning, today, two workers came out and worked on the damaged gate. They removed it, took back to the shop, completed additional work on it, and reinstalled the gate. They re-set the one post, and drill a new hole for the stop bar, allowing the gate to remain closed. Excellent job!!

Called them last week, they called right back, asking for sizes need, which I faxed right back to them. Same day I got a fax back with a price. I signed it, faxed it back, and they called to schedule. They showed up as scheduled, did the work, and did it beautifully. No delays. no surprise charges, no drama! Just a terrific and hassle-free experience from call to finish. I will absolutely use them again, and will tell my friends.
Description of Work: They installed one chain-link gate at my side yard, including posts that needed to be set in concrete. They also installed one small chain-link section of fencing at the alley, which also needed posts set in concrete.
