When you sell your home in California you are required by escrow to have a termite inspection, and repairs if needed. Our share of the projected repairs (if needed) were to be $1,000 with the buyer picking up any reamining costs. We were supposed to be all excited that we were getting a FREE inspection, but we both knew that no matter if we had or didnt have termites, it would end up costing us $1,000. Guess what?? Low and behold the estimate came in at exactly $1,000 and he said we did not have termites, but we had some dry rot that was attractive to termites, so he was to repair the dry rot in the trim on the front of the home, and spot spray three spots in the attic. When they arrived at the home, they were here for 35 minutes, didnt repace the dry rot wood, just slapped wood putty all over it and then they called it a day and went home, minus my $1,000 that is required by state law escrow. Later that day I recieved a copy from the escrow company , a certificate of completion regarding terminte extermination for the home, allowing us to enter escrow... Since he signed off without ever entering the home, and spraying inside the attic as the certificate claimed I called my realator. When the realator called Steve Navarro, Steve told him that they did spray in the attic. This is probally the biggest scam in America because California requires this for escrow purposes and since most sellers are getting ready to move, they dont care if the contractor scams them or not.. I would rather have my home crumble down into sawdust around me than ever, ever ever use the termite services of SC Termite Control-Steve Navarro.
