Roy Mathis Moving

A team of three people showed up on schedule, worked quickly and loaded our 1800 sq foot home in about 4 hours. The move went smoothly because they spent the time on the phone with us before hand to make sure we were organized and ready to move. I was impressed with the teams professionalism and the speed that they accomplished this move. We picked up lunch for the group and they would not even stop to take a break and eat lunch. They continued working through lunch and eat when the job was done. They loaded our trailer so tightly that we were able to save a few hundred dollars by using less space in the trailer then was originally estimated as well. I had a great experience and would work with them again in a heartbeat.

They were prompt, polite, and careful. They moved me out on Thursday and held my belongings overnight for delivery on Friday morning. Due to a delay in getting keys for the new house, Johns crew hasn't to wait until late afternoon on Friday to deliver my furniture, which meant they had to work until 9 o'clock at night. Despite the delay they honored the price as quoted. They were courteous and kind throughout my difficulties, and I would not hesitate to use this company again. My furniture and belongings arrived without a scratch and i appreciated the care they exhibited throughout the entire move.

Since the move was close, I transported many of the smaller boxes myself. They did a great job transporting everything else from the little stuff left over to the big beds. They were very professional, on time, and great to work with. I would use them again.

I think the movers were careful and handled the furniture great. I was a little disappointed in the extra charge.

The most professional movers I have ever used, from the office staff to the actual movers. They were most accommodating, juggling a 3 legged move for us, and a little confusion on our part! Highly recommend!

Roy Mathis Moving is an awesome and first rate company. Sandy who coordinated the move and the team that showed up to complete the move were truly professionals. The moving crew were fast and efficient and worked so well together. It was a pleasure working with them and I will use them again.

OMG, Kelly, Lawson and Mark are absolutely awesome. I know they were exhausted when they were finished with us. They arrived promptly at 8:30 am and while I was doing a 5 minute walk through with Kelly, Lawson and Mark were already on top of things moving the living room furniture. These guys only stopped for a few seconds when I brought them coffee. Not one lazy bones in their bodies. They are hard and fast workers. We wound up doing two truck loads (the truck was really average size...don't know exactly how big) an then still had to go back a 3rd time to get just a couple of things. Even when I bought their lunch...I don't think they took more than 20 minutes to eat. They scarfed down that food and was back at it again. I cannot even find the words to tell you how well they did, how terrific they are and how highly I recommend them. If you use Mathis, you are in excellent hands. Yes, they are a little pricey and I know I could have found someone cheaper, however, my trust is in Mathis Moving. Excellent, excellent service and if you are really lucky, you'll get Kelly, Lawson and Mark.....what a team!!! Thank you so very much, Mathis!

We wanted a local mover and chose Roy Mathis Movers. John and Chato were a two man crew. They arrived on time and were very courteous with entire family. From arrival they got down to business from large furniture to small boxes, unhooking one large fridge plus washer and dryer. They moved everything to our new place no problems. They even connected our huge fridge(and reconnected the water line) plus connected washer and dryer. They made sure everything was in working order. I would use Roy Mathis movers again and recommend to friends and family.

They were very professional, on time and continuously worked. They did not just sit around, they were very efficient. They made sure everything was cleaned up and it was all satisfactory to what we wanted. They even placed everything into the storage.

I'm really glad we went with Roy Mathis moving - they had the best quote for our job, and did a great job. They were also extremely understanding and accomodating with our dates (issues with closing on our new house) and meeting us at a storage location to quickly load a few things there before coming to our house to load everything else. They unhooked and hooked up multiple appliances for us, while other moving companies said they wouldn't/couldn't do that. They also charged us the same rate for a Saturday move, while another company said they charged a significant overtime fee for a Saturday. It was an all day job, but our two movers ran the entire time and carried everything quickly like it was nothing. They were friendly and polite, and got our furniture up and down tight staircases with no issues. They asked me where I wanted things, and would happily move it around again if I changed my mind. I would definitely use them again, and would recommend them to anyone.

We were renting a truck and moving from West Covina, CA, to Laughlin, NV on July 30, 2013. Sandy was very friendly & helpful when I called the office. John assessed our two-bedroom apartment and gave us an estimate that we felt was very reasonable. He and one helper arrived on time on move day and got right to work. They were exceptionally careful of each and every one of our items, taking particular care with our flat-screen TV. Every single item, including major appliances, arrived at our new location as perfect as it left our old apartment. These friendly workers were professional, careful, quick, and efficient. The whole apartment was packed in the truck in 3 1/2 hours, and nothing shifted during the trip. The cost was exactly as estimated with no surprises. I would highly recommend this company to anyone needing the services of a mover, whether for a local or long-distance move or to pack a truck that you rent. They made our move as painless as it could possibly be. We did our best to help by having everything other than major items safely packed in boxes that were clearly marked with contents, whether fragile, or whether one end should be UP. For the movers at our new location, each box was also marked with the room it should go to. A BIG thank you to John, Sandy, and their whole team. Well done!

We would definitely recommend them, they don't normaly work on sunday, but they had their crew of 2 people come in on a Sunday, due to our timing. They called a day before, arrived exactly on time, loaded up everything professionally, they brought it here, unloaded everything, and separated it by room. They assembled the bed and table. There was no damage or marks. We would definitely recommend them.

My husband and I are so incredibly thankful for the team from Mathis Moving. We have never had to hire a moving company before, and we were scared at what might be in store for us. However all fears vanished when Kelly and Lawson showed up with the moving truck right on time. They were incredibly polite, friendly, professional, and even had a good sense of humor which instantly put us at ease. Kelly and Lawson worked incredibly well together as a team. Lawson flew up and down our stairs?with a smile?while Kelly cubed the truck with our belongings taking advantage of every square inch of space. They had super strength, too. They made easy?and delicate?work of moving our heavy entertainment unit, desks, dressers, etc. When we arrived at our new place, they helped to set up our bed frame, hook up our washer and dryer, add the feet back to our couches, plug in the fridge, and make sure we had our cooler right away to put away our food. Moving can be so emotional and stressful?and we were definitely stressed that day. But their helpfulness eased the situation. I've already recommended them to our realtor and friends. This company and its staff is top notch. We don't want to have to move again for several years, but if we ever do, we will be calling Mathis.

The two guys from Mathis showed up on time, and did an awesome job! They worked fast (even running up the stairs and moving at a fast pace around the house) even though they were being paid by the hour. They were also friendly, professional and genuinely seemed to enjoy being there and doing the work. Also, there were no hidden charges, as everything was explained up front. We bought a couple of extra boxes from them, which they assembled for us on the spot and only charged us a few bucks per box - I thought this was a nice added service and half expected to get gouged as an "up-sell", but they charged a very fair price for the boxes. They unassembled and reassembled our beds, dining room table and couches and helped us set up each in our new house so it looked like we had been there for years. I've moved a couple of times before and the moving guys were always a bit sketchy, this wasn't the case at all with Mathis. I couldn't recommend them highly enough!

From the very first phone call with John, this experience couldn't have gone better. I also spoke with Sandy who is a sweetheart. What nice people! On the day of the move, John and his guys showed up right on time. John is very friendly and super efficient. The two men with him were polite and courteous. They worked non-stop and were finished in no time. Moving is never easy, but these guys took a load off my shoulders during a stressful situation. Look no further- these people are the BEST!!

They were quick and efficient and even helped pack the last remaining things. They also dismantled and then put back together the beds and frames. They sealed covered the mattresses and box springs and all wood furniture. They were careful to get all furniture in the designated rooms. Both young men were very efficient, courteous and friendly. They went out of their way to m ke us happy with the move.

Great experience. Interviewed 3 companies all from Angie List. They were all very professional but their prices varied widely and the other two companies were quoting the need for 2 trucks. John Fuhs is very experienced from the estimate of volume the move was going to take, his quoted no added prices, prompt arrival, great hard working crew and everything John said he would do he did. He said his truck could handle our household and it did with a little room to spare. John and a 3 man crew showed up a little early and loaded the truck in 4 hours. John worked along with his crew and they had all been with him for 5 years or more, these are company employees and not day labor hires. They covered the furniture and took care with there blankets and plastic covers for the mattresses. This company did not use any specialized cartons that we had to purchase, they supplied wardrobe cartons at no charge which they reuse. All other furniture and televisions were protected with moving pads. Modesto end John and one of his crew arrived early today they unloaded and assembled the furniture, beds and dining room table. Installed the washer and dryer. And left within 5.5 hours. My wife and I are both very satisfied with the results. John showed his professionalism at all times and true to his word no added costs and on time.

Both moves went very well. These guys are fast. We had a LOT of boxes, and the typical assortment of furniture. They had our apartment emptied out, loaded onto the truck, and un-loaded in our new house, all in about five hours. These guys both showed a very positive, helpful attitude. No damage to anything. I could not ask for a better experience. I don't want to ever move again, but if I have to do so, I intend to use Roy Mathis moving. Roy Mathis also offers packing and unpacking services, but we did our own packing. (Maybe that is why I am so tired right now!)

They arrived promptly, worked efficiently, quickly and very professional. I was amazed how quickly it went with the loading up. We had not realized just how much we had and so the evening before notified them that we would need assistance with our packing. It was no problem for them to schedule an extra person to assist and they ended up helping us pack quite a few boxes. They loaded up quickly and arrived at our new house very close to the time givento us by the driver, John. He was even able to squeeze the moving truck into our narrow drive without any problems. The crew unloaded as efficiently as they had loaded, everything arrived safe and sound. All were very helpful with placement of furniture as well. Excellent company! From our first contact on the phone with Sandy we knew we were dealing with good honest people. She was able to schedule us on the date and time we needed. John and Charro showed up on time and jumped right in. They both worked nonstop and didn't slow down until the job was finished. I almost hired another company before I found Mathis but found out they had a reputation for the bait and switch. Not Mathis. They gave us an honest quote with no surprises on moving day. I highly recommend this company and would not hesitate to use them again. Moving is always stressful, but these guys made it all so easy and relatively stress free.

We've always moved ourselves before' so I wasn't sure what to expect. We moved from a 2200 sq ft house to one half the size. We only moved the furniture and half the furniture was going to our son's house. They brought two trucks, one for each household. I marked each piece of furniture with colored tape. One color for us and one for our son. they arrived on time. The loading went smoothly. They even moved my huge stag horn fern. They were very polite and helpful. They asked questions when they weren't sure whether something was to go or not. We gave them money for lunch and met them at the new house. There were no problems. when they were done they drove the other truck to our son's house and proceeded to unload everything in a timely manner. We were very happy with their service.

We needed to move furniture from one home in Norwalk to another (about 0.5 mi away). We had very little furniture; only a bedroom set, small dining room table, and living room furniture. There were also mirrors and misc. decorative items that they packed up safely. The woman I initially spoke with when I called was very sweet and her customer service made me choose this company over others. It was obvious that this was a family run business, which we love to support. They were able to come out on the day we needed, with just a few day's notice. They were on time, friendly, and had the job done in just about 2 hours. Will definitely use them again in the future.

I had read many, many reviews of moving companies before choosing one for our move. So many horror stories! So many unscrupulous people out there. I was skeptical about the 100% positive reviews I read about Roy Mathis. Now I'm one of those 100% positive reviewers. I was impressed by how efficient, honest, and reliable Roy Mathis Movers were. On the day we moved, one of the owners actually came to the apartment we were moving out of to make sure the quote we were given was accurate. Because there was a back patio with lots of furniture that I had forgotten to mention when I first booked, he didn't think everything could be moved within 8 hours, and we were advised the move could go into overtime. My husband has a chronic illness, so he couldn't help move the patio. The owner actually filled his pick-up truck with all the backyard furniture and moved it to our new home himself to try to save us the extra cost. His compassionate actions and the overall speed and care of the two movers saved us having to pay for overtime. This company is a real find: a family run business with high expectations for their employees and themselves. They were a bit more expensive than some of the other companies out there, but it was well worth it to ensure our move was not one of the horror stories I read about. -- AND I got a discount for being an Angie's List subscriber!

I exchanged some email before the move with Mike Glance. I first emailed them before I knew when I'd be moving, and realized that while they were often busy, they were very responsive. I didn't push him to come out and do an estimate, he simply provided pricing by the hour. Makes sense to me! The charge was $99 an hour for two movers, a truck, and their equipment. They charge $35 an hour for an extra mover. Ultimately, due to the size of our house and the amount of stuff in the garage we went with two trucks and four movers. A few days before the move, Sandy from their office called to say they could change our move from Friday to Sunday if we wanted, because there was rain forecast for Friday. It was perfect timing, I'd just found out the painters wouldn't be finished until Saturday. The four movers arrived at 8am on the dot. Kelly was the lead, and kept everything running smoothly. These guys worked their butts off, were cheerful, careful, and fun to have around. They got most of the contents of a 2400 sf house and 3 car garage into the trucks in a little over 3 hours. It was a quick drive to the other house, they grabbed lunch, and got back at it. The move was completed in a total of 6 hours. We did all our own packing, which helped speed things up. In a previous (employer-paid) move, 3 movers spent 8 hours packing, so we knew we'd save a lot of money getting that part done ourselves. I was most impressed that not one thing was broken or damaged in the move. That includes all of the freshly painted walls, wood trim, and doors in the new house. My 8 year old son did not learn any new swear words, always a plus. As I've left some furniture at the old house until we sell it, I will need movers again soon. Absolutely no doubt who I'm calling.

The company was on time, and did everything they said they would do.
