Description of Work: Moved furniture out of an assisted living unit. Did the job quickly without damaging anything. Reassembled furniture at new location.

Description of Work: Provider packed all my furniture plush washer, dryer and refrigerator for storage and then moved it to my new residence on 9/11/2014. We had several old antique pieces that required special handling. The packagers and the movers were specialists and did a terrific job. Nothing was broken in the move and storage. I couldn't be more happy with the service from the movers to the support staff. A job well done!

Description of Work: they picked up all boxed items and furniture, some very heavy, and moved to new residence. It all went well. although we were charged extra for use of packing blankets.

Description of Work: Moving services - approximately 20 miles. Called them just a few days before and they were able to accommodate me. Showed up on time and their estimate of time needed was correct. Couple of furniture mishaps but so small I didn't even report it even though paperwork gave number and procedure for doing this.

Description of Work: My first contact was with Sandra over the phone who took my information and went over the details of the move, she gave me the hourly rate and also gave me some helpful tips (like buying extra boxes from Home Depot because they are cheaper). She was very nice and ultimately made me feel confident I had found the right moving company. On the day of the move, Kellly and Larson were at my house at the prescribed time, introduced themselves, and quickly went to work. And that pace didn't stop until everything was moved in at my new location. Kelly and Larson were very professional, quick, helpful, friendly and had a wonderful sense of humor - all of which I greatly enjoyed and appreciated. Although they were working by the hour, I was surprised at how quickly they moved. Most of the time they ran when they weren't carrying something, which really impressed me. I would have expected a slower pace to use up the clock so to speak, but to the contrary, their fast pace reminded me of the UPS drivers running to and from their trucks delivery packages during the holiday season! It was very reasurring that I was getting my money's worth. They were also very careful of my furniture, often washing their hands before touching something. I have white fabric furniture, and to my relief they wrapped everything for protection. They worked very hard and carefully navigated two flights of stairs with an "L" shape at the start location and another 15-step flight at the end location with some very heavy pieces. I couldn't find a scratched wall or nicked door frame anywhere, and there were some very tight situations. I'm sure the total of the move would have been closer to $500, if it weren't for me changing my mind about the location of my bed after Larson, bless his heart, had already set it up taking care to center it against the wall as I had asked. He didn't skip a beat when I told him I had changed my mind, and had it disassembled and set up in the other room in no time. The other delay was when we discovered the two piece sofa bed wouldn't fit in the room originally planned, which meant having to take all of the boxes and other items out of one spare bedroom and transferring it all to another room. Both Kelly and Larson were so professional about it and quickly went to work moving everything again. It was a great moving experience and I would definitely use Roy Mathis again and would highly recommend them. I have no "don'ts" but I would definitely make sure to have a few cold bottles of water on hand for the movers. They worked from start to finish without a break. Description of Work: We were moved from our two-story town home to a bigger house about a mile away. They accomodated our quick schedule and were quite pleasent to talk to.

Description of Work: All positive.....showed up early, worked like dogs...always in good spirits and never faltered. The owner called back after I had a question about locating an earlier moving company which I had to fire. My move was from a storage unit to a condominium a mere ten miles away. No damage was done to my furniture, grandfather clock or other possessions. They even swept the old storage unit! I will be using them for the next move for sure.

Description of Work: Moved 2 rooms of antiques and collectables from an assisted living facility (4th floor) to a storage unit. Movers arrived exactly at 8:00 am as agreed. They were packing things at 8:03 (seriously). There were many collectables that had to be packed and they worked from 8:00 to 1:15 and took no time out. All the furniture was handled with extreme care as were the collectables. Items were then placed in the storage unit so we could get to boxes if needed. John immediately put us at ease over the move with his positive attitude. The 2 helpers were the same. Highly recommend them.
