RK Knight Plumbing & Rooter

R.K. Knight is a reliable plumbing service. The company has worked on my plumbing and installed a new garbage disposal in the last two months. Their employees are professional and knowledgeable. I found their prices to be fair. I plan to use the company for all my plumbing needs. Their response time was prompt.

Woke up and found the garage sink backed up and the tub in the front bath filled and overflowing with water. I called RK Knight because they came up first on Angie's List and were rated well. They opened at 8 on Saturday, and I called just a few minutes after. The woman answering the phone was friendly and helpful, and said they could have someone out in about 15 to 20 minutes (?!); I'd expected to wait all day with the usual "4 hour window" thing you deal with most times. Sean arrived in about 15 minutes. I less than an hour he had cleared the line (too much stuff down the disposal on Thanksgiving most likely), explained what he was doing and why, and had checked the flow in each drain in the house, not just the garage and tub. He wore shoe covers whenever he came in the house. He hosed down the area outside where he'd worked. He rinsed out the tub after he had finished clearing it. He as as efficient and professional as you could want. He also was patient with my questions and very informative about my home plumbing system and how it worked. I've already recommended RK Knight to my dad, and would give them two thumbs up to anyone in the area that needs a plumber. I highly recommend them and will absolutely call them again if I need assistance.

Everything went as planned. They are always on time, very professional, and friendly.

The office called shortly before our technician, Lou, arrived. Lou was great. Very professional. I have lived in Whittier for over a decade and did not even realize that this provider was so close by. I found them on Angie's List and will call them for all of our plumbing needs from now on.

We had a leak at the house. We were able to verify that the leak was Not in the house. We have a water heater in the garage and solar panels on the garage roof that heat the water in the heater. The leak could have been anywhere under a cement slab, under grass or within balance of lines outside. I contacted RK Knight at about 10:00 AM on a Monday morning. They were able to get to the site the same day, and were able to locate the problem very without having to disrupt the grass or concrete areas. Everything was done and the problem was corrected in on the first visit. I was quoted $450 to locate the leak due to the wide area the search encompassed. And additional parts/time to correct the problem once identified. They located the leak in the solar system plumbing on the roof of the garage. They were able to isolate the problem and turn the water off so that the leak was eliminated promptly. The price was exactly as quoted, and we are thrilled!

The work was fine.The issue I have with Knight is that they charge a service fee to come to your home. Most places waive that fee if you have the work done; not Knight. They charge you $49 for coming and then charge you for the service. Another problem is that they greatly overcharge on simple parts. I was going to have a gas barbeque hooked up by them. Their estimate was about $300 for parts; I went to Home Depot and bought ALL of the parts for a total of about $35 and did the job myself. The plumbers are good but the price to way too high.

The work went very well and I would definitely use them again.

We had my parents in town and with all the extra showers, flushing, laundry, etc. our slow lines backed up into the bath tub. I called RK Night late in the afternoon and they were there early the next morning to snake the main line and get us all back to normal. The people I spoke to were so cheerful and nice, it made me feel like I'd called the right place! We discovered the house has had plumbing issues in the past and the thought it might be tree roots. The plumber offered their camera scope services when we were ready to tackle the whole problem, since we were just looking for a quick fix to make it through my parents' visit. It has been over 6 months since they did the work and we're still functioning just fine. Once the roots decide to rear their ugly head again, I'll be back on the phone with RK Knight to handle it. It went great, showed up in a half hour, and approximately 45 minutes it was clear.

Ronnie Sr came out first and gave me an estimate. He explained the process in detail and provided a written estimate. Since they would not be able to complete repairs immediately, Ronnie Sr. hooked up a temporary water line at no charge so we could remain in our home with full water service. Ronnie Jr kept me informed of when they would be out to work. He and his brother Randy did great work, which was completed when they said it would be. They even protected my lawn by figuring out a way to limit any digging that had to be done. Great work! I hope I don't need their services again but if I do, RK Knight will be the first I call!

This home is a rental. I initiated the work request with R.K.Knight Plumbing & Rooter company. R.K.Knight called our renter and arranged an appt. The plumber arrived on time and performed the agreed upon work without any issues. The plumber also helped catch the renter's dog, after it escaped from the house. I had a question or two about cost of the toilet work. No billing took place, until I was able to have that discussion. I was satisfied with the explanation and then paid the bill over the phone by credit card. The whole process was successful and seamless, which fit my need, because I live around 400 miles from the rental house. Our renter was satisfied, as well.

Ronny and his "crew" are always very punctual and professional. On this occasion, Randy was the professional who performed the work. He did a great job and left everything nice and clean as he found it. I would recommend their services.

The service was fantastic. The main office is responsive and proactive. Lou is the man. He is extremely knowledgeable, professional and gave us a great experience. We could not be happier and will definitely be calling them to help us with our renovations.

Called for an inspection at 8 a.m, and Shawn was here by 9:30. He quickly identified the leak as coming from our old kitchen faucet. He discussed options available, buying a faucet from the company or getting one and calling them back for installation. Buying my own saved about $100. Found an excellent one at Ace Hardware in Fullerton by 10:30 a.m., and called again to set up an installation time. Shawn was able to return shortly after noon the same day to install. I also asked for an estimate for another project we were thinking about, and Shawn showed me a catalog and went over the various choices. The experience was pleasant from the person who answered the phone (Debbie) to the service performed. Prompt, efficient, friendly. Both of them thanked me for my business. I thank them for their professionalism and skills.

Our old sewer pipe broke. We had received a quote from Rescue Rooter which floored us. We called R.K. Knight to take a look at the job. They demonstrated that the statements made by the the Rescue Rooter team were not factual - they had not removed the roots from the sewer line all the way to the city hook up. Therefore, they could not have seen whether or pipe had collapsed at the city hook up. After we informed Rescue Rooter that R.K. Knight was doing the job a Rescue Rooter employee showed up at our door the next day and asked to see what R.K. Knight was doing in our back yard; we declined. The Rescue Rooter employee tried to pressure us into paying ~$1k for the time that they had been at our house. We reminded him that aside from digging a hole they stood around while waiting to get a quote and took lunch in the car for two hours. We agreed to pay Rescue Rooter for digging a hole which took a couple of hours. When the R.K. Knight team came out to look at the problem they were low key in their approach. We did not feel pressured to make a decision immediately. R.K. Knight completed the job for less than half of the price which was quoted to us by Rescue Rooter. R.K. Knight was able to provide running water very quickly and completed the job within a few days. They demonstrated what they were doing for us during different stages and were good at communicating what they would be doing and why. We felt confident in their knowledge and skills. The price was as quoted. The work was guaranteed. We have had no problems and would absolutely use R.K. Knight for plumbing issues again.

I had a leaking commode as water was subtly seeping out around the base of the toilet. I called R.K. Knight Plumbing and explained my concerns to a very pleasant receptionist. I was immediately impressed by her genuine concern and interest in my situation. The level of courtesy was very professional, customer service was outstanding. I was pleased to know a plumber would be at my home within a couple of hours. Prior to his arrival, I received a courtesy call notifying me that the plumber was about 15 minutes away which was within the two hour window they provided me when I initially called. Shawn arrived on schedule and his appearance was very professional as he greeted at the front door. His demeanor was also courteous and professional. As I escorted Shawn to the leaking problem, explaining that my major concern was not just a leaking toilet but rather possible damage to the sub-floor of the bathroom. Shawn quickly examined the floor and reassured me that the floor was still in good condition but that he would reassess it when he removed the toilet. Shawn explained everything he was going to do prior to starting the project which was good to know from the very beginning. Shawn took great care with his preparation to minimize any water spilling onto the floor. He worked continuously without any break and completed the job without any discrepancy. Shawn also provided an update on the condition of my floor as in good condition. The finished result was he had stopped the leak by replacing the was seal and provided a new water flex line from the wall to the commodes water tank. Although I thought the price may have been a little high, I was completely satisfied with the finished product and the results from his skilled craftsmanship. The level of professionalism and skill far outweighed the price I had to pay. I have gained complete confidence in R. K. Knight Plumbing and will definitely use them again in the future without any hesitations or reservations about the quality of work to be performed. Shawn concluded his work by checking my water pressure and assured me that I was within a good range, which was refreshing to know as well. The whole job went smoothly and I was completely satisfied as a customer and I will recommend them to family and friends for their plumbing needs. I also think it is noteworthy to mention that Shawn took great care when he finished the job with a thorough clean up of the area, it was like he was never there. I'll probably use them again. They are somewhat over priced.

They did an excellent job.

They sent someone out for a $99 service call. He said the cause of the problem was that I had dirt and debris underneath the water heater, which would cause it to turn off. He swept underneath the water heater and relit the light. The light continued to go out after that and wouldn't relight. The same error message continued even after the gentleman relit it. Rather than having the gentleman come out and relight it again, I called the manufacturer American Water Heater Company and told them what the error message was and described the problem. They said the gas valve needed to be replaced and that it was under warranty. They sent it out to me and they gave me the name of a qualified service person. After it was installed on 10/17/14, I called R.K. Knight to let them know their employee couldn't read the error message but they were out of town. I asked Lonnie to have them return my call. It has now been about 4 weeks and they still haven't returned my call. They're very nice and quick to come out. Their customer service is good, but their technician didn't know how to resolve the problem. Update: Mr. Knight contacted me by telephone after this information was posted. He stated that he never received the message from Lonnie, and that she was no longer working for them. He apologized for his technician not being able to fix the problem. He further stated that he has scheduled a class with an American Water Heater representative to retrain his plumbers, including himself. I did not ask for a refund, but he said that he would be refunding the cost of the service call since the problem was not resolved by his technician. Shortly thereafter, I was refunded the money. I changed my rating because I believe that Mr. Knight did not receive my message and upon learning of the issue, he responded immediately. He is taking corrective action by retraining his employees. I believe that he is an honest man and aims to please the customer by providing quality service. I would recommend him to my neighbors.

Their service was professional and punctual. They were not high-pressured and did not try to sell more services. They were honest and cleaned up after the job was completed.

I saw a water stain in the garage ceiling and determined it was coming from my 2nd story bath tub. I found RK Knight plumbing from Angies list. Their office is only about 3 miles from my house. I called and the receptionist was very responsive and scheduled an appointment for the next day. Lou Lona came out and I was very impressed with his appearance, knowledge, and professionalism. He determined that the waste & overflow for the bath tube needed to be replaced due to a crack in one of the fittings. It was a very difficult job since the floor joist and another copper water line were in the way. He cut out all the old ABS pipe and replaced it with all new and improved fittings. The plumber who originally put in the waste & overflow during the home construction completely botched-up the job with convoluted pieces. This was not an easy job to correct but Lou said he could repair it and he did a fantastic job. I would not hesitate to recommend RK Knight to anyone. I feel I received my monies worth and would highly recommend Lou for your service technician. Great Job Lou! His helper Shawn did a great job as well. When the job was completed, all the mess was swept up and surrounding areas cleaned.

I called and asked about cleaning out the kitchen pipes. I was given the full details of the process. High pressure water injected into the kitchen pipes all the way up to the sewer line. After the service was completed, the plumber inserted a cable that had a camera on the tip and showed me all the lines were free and clear. I was very pleased with the service and courteous manner. I will use them again.

Had a sewer clog, checked Angie's List and R.K. Knight Plumbing had the most ratings and most recent positive postings in the area! I work from home, so I appreciate their two hour window as I did not have to waste my time waiting and waiting! I was given a call 5 minutes before the plumber arrived. Upon arrival, the plumber was dressed in a uniform and presentable, he also had disposable booties and used them before entering! I love that detail because I can't tell you how many workers dirty my floors ! He made the assessment of the job, described in details his findings and gave me the estimate prior to starting. He finished in a timely manor, cleaned up, and showed me the work before signing off on it. Another very important note is that this company is family run and around for years! A very positive experience and I will definitely recommend and continue to use R.K. Knight Plumbing

We have use this vendor before with excellent results. Very courteous on the phone as usual and accommodated our appointment time two days prior. Randy was the plumber that found and fixed the problem this time and did so with upmost professionalism and attention to detail. Randy always covered his boots with covers so as not to track dirt, etc. in the house. He also provided photos since we didn't crawl under the house to see the the leak for ourselves. In addition he also showed us the section of copper pipe that was removed and replaced further showing where the problem was. This really helped in understanding the problem. Randy was upfront about the estimate and timeframe to complete the job as well. Highly recommend this vendor as mentioned before.
