Description of Work: They cleared out 1 bathroom sink drain. Though it had to be done & I wasn't going to send them away, $150 seemed a little high. Flip side of that is I have my sink back!

Description of Work: We had a very slow leak in our wall behind our washing machine. He arrived on time and wore painter booties in our house. He thoroughly discussed the different possibilities of our problem and the solutions. We worked with him to determine the exact problem and agreed to his resolution. He replaced the hoses and the nipple. Everything went as smoothly as possible and he completed the work efficiently.

Description of Work: Since we purchased the house 5 years ago we've had plumbing problems and many plumbers. R.K. Knight Plumbing recommended hydro jet cleaning. We haven't had a problem since. It didn`t!
Description of Work: We have now called this company twice for a quote. The first time was to change out a bath tub and hot water heater. They made an appointment and never showed up. The second time was to clear a drain and they wouldn't give us any kind of price over the phone.

I apologize that the Customer feels this badly about my company. As you can see in the other customers reviews our professionalism and respoiveness are always an A. It is quite uncharactersitic of us to miss an appointment with out even calling to explain why and trying to reschedule the work. As far as giving prices over the phone, we just don't do it. I have found it most fair to the customer and to me to come out and see what I'm working with and then give an exact price. I do give free estimates because I just want to see if there are any complications, wheteher it be cleaing a drain or fixing a leaky faucet, that the home owner might not be aware of. It would not be fair to the home owner for me to tell them a price on the phone and then discover a complication and have to adjust my price. It would also not be ethical for me to give a low price just to get the job and then raise the price when I'm done. Also, I have a secretary who answers the phone and is not trained in the plumbing field so it would also be unfair for her to try and give a price to make a repair. These are the reasons why I don't give pricing over the phone. I have been in business since 1956 and have seen many strange things with plumbing and have learned no two houses have the exact same plumbing. I am only trying to do what I feel is the most honest and fair thing to do. Again I apologize to Lisa for feeling that my company has let her down. I continually strive to be an award winning company and to provide the highest level of service.

Description of Work: Called to get "free" estimate to repair a leaking drain pipe in the crawl space under my home. This company charges an up front fee of $39.00 simply because the pipe is in a crawl space under the house. This crawl space is large enough accommodate a 250 lb man.Thanks but no thanks.

Yes, we do give Free estimates. However, we do have a $39 diagnostic fee, which is a flat fee regardless of how long it takes, to locate and identify a particular problem, no matter where the problem is located. We cannot give an estimate on something if we do not know the exact location of the problem and what is causing it (ie a crack in the pipe, separation, corrosion, etc.). It takes time to find which pipe and where on that pipe a leak is coming from, which is important information that needs to be known in order to give a proper estimate. The plumber would not have only located the leak, but would have also done a thorough inspection of the plumbing system under the house in order to evaluate the condition of the rest of the pipes, noting any other potential problems. If there is one bad spot on a pipe it is likely there may be another since everything is the same age. Once the problem is located the plumber would then explain the problem and go over the available options. For example, just fixing the immediate problem vs possibly replacing more pipe so that the homeowner would not have to worry about another leak in the near future, depending on the condition of the rest of the system. The plumber will also provide pictures of the plumbing system and any potential problems and answer any questions so that the homeowner fully understands his particular situation and can make an educated decision. We want the homeowner to be confident when they are making that decision.
