G&H Painting

After I paid Angie's List, it seemed to take longer than expected to have Gary come out and preview all work, After several phone calls he made up for the delay, by showing up punctually to do the work. He made up for all delays with the quality of his work, the care he took to make things right. If you want good craftsmanship at a reasonable price, he's your man. You'll soon appreciate him doing your work and as I did forget about the lag time.

Garry Holguin and his team arrived on time and have completed the project one day earlier than we were promised. The project included removal of loose stucco, patch/repair of structural defects stucco, exterior painting, replace/repair/paint of eaves, and painting of exposed exterior rafter. We also asked them to remove a wall-hung air conditioner, seal the hole and paint the wall to match the existing wall. Garry has helped us to request samples of light-yellow color paints that are suitable for stucco house for the comparison. They have covered non-work area during the work and cleaned up all work-related areas afterwards. They also recovered soil bed of flowers/plants attached to the house. Garry accepted our opinions and also gave us good advises. His price for the amount of work is lower than similar work load as offered by other companies. We are very happy for the home-improvement service by G&H Painting.

I feel bad leaving less then great reviews for people with their own businesses but it's just his attitude and manner with clients that needs adjusting. It's not WHAT YOU SAY BUT HOW YOU SAY IT. Gary and his partner ended up doing an okay job in the end but it's his attitude that you're getting a huge deal and that he doesn't want to be there doing this cheap job that is the problem. During the middle of the day I ran out of the paint I thought I needed and got 5 gallons more of paint (per Gary's request) and he only needed another 2. So yeah that's another $160 I wasted on paint that I didn't need, sitting in my garage. If you're looking for someone cheap who makes you feel cheap, then here you go. If you're looking for someone who is pleasant to be around and who you might use again, then unfortunately this isn't the guy.

After an emergency prevented me from keeping our first appointment, I tried to re-scheedule various times, using various means of communication, to no avail. As I was moving into a new place the timing of the job was particularly crucial. I haven't heard from him in two weeks, and in the meantime hired another painter to do the work. I don't know what else to say; he sounded like a nice guy who might've been overwhelmed by work or who regretted extending his services to my area in Hollywood. But this was extremely unprofessional, and on a human level, is pretty bad karma. I probably won't be using Angie's List again.

Great. Garry and his helper Gary showed up on time and ready to work. I had used G&H before but this was the first time Garry the owner did the work. He did an excellent job. The service was first rate. I will definitely use G&H again even without the coupon.

They were pretty good. They seemed very professional.

He did a good job. I'm laughing because this is the second time I purchased his deal. I didn't realize it was his deal the second time. He kind of chastise me for purchasing another deal, it was a lost leader for him. He did the work, he gave me a bad time on the phone, and he made me think he wouldn't show up. He got here, and reminded me again. I didn't appreciate it. My suggestion to him was in the ad for first time customer. I didn't see anything like that in the ad or anything. He did the job. I did ask him for a quote for rain gutters, and he hasn't provided. Its been a couple of weeks since the job. I don't know if he is frustrated if he had to do the job for loss profit, or what. He is a nice guy. Its not the level of service I expect for an contractor. He got out to the house in an week of me reaching out to him.

They were quick, polite, and did good work.

Cancelled, because the vendor didn't like that I had already used an Angies list purchase for a different service(molding installation). He said he doesn't make money off the Angies list purchases. I didn't schedule the service and ask Angies list for a refund. Don't post your service if you are going to complaint to a customer about not making any money.

Gary did an outstanding job in my opinion. He was very professional and explained the process as he went and exactly what I need to do to maintain the stucco moving forward. I could not be happier with the results.

Great! Gary's guys did a fabulous job. They were friendly, professional and did really quality work. The doors look fantastic. I will call them again next time I have a project that involves painting.

He was quick. Did two coats. The offer only includes walls. Does not include trim or ceiling. We were able to add the ceiling for an additional fee.

Garry and another painter showed up promptly. Reviewed the area that needed to be painted and quickly began the work. The project went quickly and complete very professionally.

He was great. he went well beyond the call of duty, and treated me extremely fairly. Also, he was very nice and professional and on time and communicated clearly with me. I would definitely hire him again. I really appreciate the great job he did for me,

Gary was wonderful. The dining room came out beautiful and looks great. He was very honest and fair with me, and he did a lot of work for me and did a better job than I had imagined. He communicated with me throughout the day. He was nice and I liked him. I would definitely hire him again.

Gary was punctual, professional, neat and personable. I purchased a coupon via Angie's List for one room ($99). Once he arrived I asked him to paint an additional room and he gave me a great price. The work is great...well done.

Garry arrived early and provided a professional consultation before beginning the job. Process was seamless and completed in a timely manner. Wonder experience!

Very well, we were very happy with the job.

Boo!!Hiss!! My gardner at $17 an hour does way better work. I'm afraid I'm going to have to have my doors removed and totally stripped before I can proceed. Painters didn't seem to have a grasp of what had to be done, left with paint smeared on almost all of the 42 4"x4" windows, also on the bottom trim. Application was poor and time was wasted listening to the owner berate one of the painters for taking so long to get to my house. ( Lost at least half an hour on the phone. ) I have spent over an hour just trying to get the paint off the glass. I feel I should get my money back and my fee for joining Angies List. This is going to be a costly mistake on my part. Obviously G&H doesn't realize that when you give a special price you should give the highest quality service, hoping to get more work, not your worst. Can't recommend to 2 neighbors desparatly looking for a painter. Too bad. I won't be doing this again... So sad

We talked and both agreed to wait till after the rain. Then came a window of sunshine. Multiple calls to Gary proved futile, no call back, no response. I need my money back! I pre-paid on Angie's list for 4 hours of work and it went nowhere.

A drew of 2 came out in the morning to sand the doors and then Gary came out to finish the varnish job. Punctual and professional.

Not well, as Garry never came to property to assess job for a quote.

Work has not been performed as of today. The initial appointment was cancelled by the contractor due to rain. I sent several text to him to reschdule. After several attempts he responded that another customer needed to move into a house do he had to finish that first, That was last Tuesday. Don't know what your policy is but I would like my money back. You shouldn't have this company on your site. Doesn't lend credibility to your service. Waiting to hear back from you. Hopefully you respond bsck in s professional and timely manner. Rickey L. Green
