AFFORDABLE POOLS

despite many phone calls and stopping in store to speak with ryan&grant. unacceptable service continues. paid for filer clean as requested. they cashed check last month but have not cleaned filter. my pool&jacuzzi have been unusable for months. do yourself a favor. do NOT. hire these crooked people

The estimate was accurate, they were not pushy about booking, and the price was well worth the quality. My pool had a big chip on the deep end and our tiles were falling Apart. We decided to redo the entire pool and wow they left me with a beautiful one. The team was so professional, always cleaned up after themselves, never made me feel unsafe about leaving them access to my backyard, and were so kind. I came to leave a review because I’m currently looking on Angie’s list for another project and realized someone might find this review helpful! I never look back on this job with regret! I’ve had other projects go awry, which is why I’m looking, but the pool project was PERFECT!!

Had no pressure on my pool pump. My independent pool guy said I needed a new motor. Decided to get a second option and went to Affordable Supply for a motor replacement estimate. Grant can out a few days later to my house and said was very honest and said I don't need a motor. He suggested I look at the impeller and didn't charge anything for his time. A couple days later, I took it apart and realized I needed new seals and diffuser was in pieces. Went into their store with the old parts and the guys there showed me exactly how to do it. 5 min fix and $60 in parts and good as new. Thank you Grant for saving me hundreds of dollars.

Grant was prompt for the June 19 meeting and seemed knowledgeable. He said he'd have a quote for us in a few days. I called June 24 and spoke to someone who said Grant was in a meeting but that they'd get back to us. As of July 12 we've never heard from them again.

It went well. There was a minor glitch that was promptly fixed. They provided very good service and followed up when I had a concern. It was solved to my satisfaction.

They came to our house to give us an estimate. Once we called back to have the work done, they wanted us to drive out to sign a contract. They have not returned our calls as promised.

I called Affordable Pools to repair or replace my pool motor. The people at Affordable were very friendly, professional and completed the repair in a couple of days. They also advised me on the reason for the motor shorting out and how to avoid it in the future. I highly recommend Affordable and will rely on them for future repairs.

It was pretty good. There were problems along the way but they came out and fixed it right away. They also gave good advice.

I contacted Affordable on 7/1 to have them come to my home to show me how to program my Pentair pool pump. Grant was able to come out the next day between 2:00-5:00. He called me at 2:15 to say he was about 10 minutes away I told him that I had the pump instlaled about 3 years ago but was not shown how to program it. I was able to set the start and stop times, but I wasn't getting the energy savings that the manufacturer promised. Grant said that he works on a lot of variable speed pumps and he suggested we call the Pentair Tech Support. The technician was able to walk us through the programming and troubleshoot some problems I was having. All in all, it was what I was hoping for. Grant listened to my questions and did a good job of teaching me what I needed to know about using the program's commands. He also spent a few minutes answering my questions about my pool filter. This is exactly the kind of pool person I've been hoping to find, and, they're close to my home. I definitely plan on using Affordable Pools in the future and will recommend them to my neighbors.

I contacted Affordable Pools to take a look at a leaky pump. The owner, Grant, was courteous and prompt in setting up an appointment that worked with my schedule. After assessing the problem, he asked me how old the pump and motor since it was visually obvious that the system (pump & motor) was very old > 15 yrs. They told me that the pump /motor system would have to be taken to the shop to determine what specifically needed to be done and that they would contact me the next day with the assessment and estimated repair cost. I ask that they also provide me with several options - 1) repair pump & stay with the old motor, 2) repair pump & install a new motor and 3) replace pump and motor. They were timely in providing me the information and associated costs which allowed me to make a quick decision. In addition, Grant was very helpful in answering all my questions regarding the system operation and how they might improved. Bottom line, they are a great company who I would use again and recommend them to my friends.

Grant came over, we discussed what I wanted to do and he took some measurements. He said he would get back to me about pricing but needed his hardscape person to come over to take a look. Planned to have this person come three days later.He said he would call to set up a specific time.Never got a call or an estimate.

I have been concerned over my electricity usage. I obtained several estimates to replace my old pool pump with a variable speed pump and motor. I chose Affordable Pool and was very happy with their work. The price was comparable to others but I liked the people and the knowledge of the product.

The owner came out at the agreed upon time. He was very knowledgeable about what we needed to repair. I described what work I would like done. The owner mentioned that he would have to talk to his masonry guy. One week later the owner called me to let me know he hadn't forgotten about me and that he was still waiting to get in touch with his masonry guy. After 3 weeks of waiting we called them and they said they would send the quote the same day. It's been another week and still nothing has come. It has been over a month since the owner came to our house and I still don't have a quote. I wouldn't go with this company for a large job now just because of their lack of follow through and timeliness, I don't want them to start the job and forget about me.

My pool pump wouldn't come up to pressure even after the filter was cleaned and line was primed. Over the phone they thought the line from the pool might be clogged. That didn't turn out to be the problem when Grant got here, but he still got the motor unclogged and back in working order in about and hour and for the basic charge. He also noted a few other items of maintenance I ought to do, but didn't pressure me into having him do them right away. Great to have an experienced professional available.

I should have posted this last year but kept putting it off. The business owner, Grant, came out to give us an estimate on acid washing our pool and replacing tile. I told him at the time that we had other work to do on our roof and we were limited in what we could do with the pool. He gave us an estimate but recommended that we wait until next year as putting off part of the pool work would result in only a temporary benefit for us. He recommended how we could save quite a bit of money doing some temporary work ourselves and then have all of the work we wanted done when it wouldn't be such a stretch on our finances. I was amazed that he wasn't out for the quick buck but more concerned about the longer term outlook and our overall future satisfaction. He was very pleaseant to deal with and spent time discussing our options knowing we would not have the work done until the following year. Grant will definitely be getting the job when we start!

I called them regarding repair of an above ground spa. I spoke with office personnel who indicated I would be contacted by a technician but I did not receive a call back.

They were absolutely excellent. We got quotes from three companies and they were all very professional, but we chose Affordable Pool Supply because they are the closest to my home. They were thorough and they didn’t ask for any money upfront. The heating and pump was put in a little crooked and I told him that it was fine, but he came out the next day to fix it. He said he hadn’t slept the night before because it wasn’t the way it was supposed to be. He spent about a day and half rerouting things to make them correct.

I noticed them on Angie's List and have used them before. Their service was great. My experience with them was great. They came out to check the problem and they let me know what it was. They gave me a price upfront. They told me that they did not have the materials to do it the following day. I approved it and they did it. I would most definitely use them again in the future.

They were good. I thought their price was good and they were responsive.

I have a pipe problem leading to the filtration system that you turn on and off for the swimming pool. I called this company to see if and when they could come out and give me an estimate of what is wrong forst of all and when would required to be fixed. Well I called and the guy was courteous and told me since it was the 4th of July weekend they might not be able to come out until Tuesday or Wednesday. I completely understand that due to the holiday. BUT what I do not understand why after they said to send a picture through a e-mail to them and they could give me a quote via e-mail or see where the problem lies...Well I did not get a response so I called them and remind them that I sent a picture via e-mail. Still waiting for a response and it is Wednesday. This is terrible customer service. If you are busy just call me back and tell me that they are very busy but do not leave me hanging after I read such good reviews on this company and I am shocked. The economy is bad as it is today...you think any company wants to do the best they can to stay in business.

They worked with me on the problems involved with an obsolete pump. They were patient and willing to work the problem. Their prices for all the extra work were very reasonable.

The young man that works there really knows what he's talking about. He doesn't try to pressure you or sell you unnecessary things, like other companies. He did exactly what I wanted.

They are great. They helped me learn how to take care of my pool. They were so generous with information that I was able to fix the problem myself. The young man that I spoke with is just a water genius and he totally hooked me up. I go in there almost every other week asking what to do and they show me what to do. I?ve never been sold something that I didn?t need which is more than I can say for other pool supply stores. Also, they are about a quarter of the price of the other pool store in town.

The repair work was not done as soon as I would have liked and the price was slightly steep however the company had a great response time when I originally contacted them.

They were flexible, accommodating, and quick. Only a couple minor scheduling difficulties, both my fault. Good about informing you about pool care. Company uses a subcontractor for plastering. One issue for me was insurance, and that info was easily found online at the licensing board website. Estimated price was similar to other licensed companies' estimates, but higher than unlicensed ones. They provided the most information during the estimation process, and their photos reflected how the final work turned out.
