STS Movers

I wasn't going to write a bad reviewbecause I don't want anyone to lose their jobs over this but I spent afortune and didn't get the quality of service I expected in return. To giveyou some background: I am a single mom and I was supposed to move Fridaywith the help of my ex. Because of a last minute emergency he could notcome and I had to scramble to look for movers. My agent recommended STSmovers and I saw they had great reviews so I called Don. Don told me he hadjobs scheduled but if anyone cancelled he would let me know. I then hired asmaller moving company to come Saturday. They didn't have any recentreviews but one of my neighbors recommended them and I didn't have a lot ofoptions so I booked them and a uhaul. Don called me later and said he couldcome Friday at 2 so I cancelled the Saturday movers and uhaul because ofdons stellar reviews and the fact that they had their own truck. ComeFriday and I get a call from them that they are running late. The guy incharge, Andre, called and said 3-4, then later Don called and said 5-6. Iexpressed concern to Don over text saying that I didn't want worn outmovers, and even though I was moving out of a one bedroom I had a lot ofstuff, including garage storage (I mentioned this the day before as well).I was afraid the movers would be too tired to do a good job and I shouldhave trusted my gut and cancelled then. They showed up at six and rightaway Andre told me that my kitchen boxes could not be moved because theydidn't have flaps. I had used the big sturdy Costco boxes for packing drygoods like cereal. They don't have lids so I asked Andre if they couldshrink wrap them and he said no. I then called don and said you could havetold me this from before and don called Andre and told them to shrink wrapthe boxes. Before I go on let me just state that Andre was the only ***** in the bunch. The two other guys, a white and black guy, were absolutesweethearts and honestly did most of the work. Andre was the youngest and just stood there with clipboard in hand. I'm not saying he didn't work butthe other two guys did more with a better attitude. Also in the verybeginning before they even started their work Andre said tips areappreciated. Like fool do a good job without complaining first before youask for tip! Ugh. So unprofessional! He is young and immature so I hate togo this hard on him but he made me feel even more alone and helpless than Ialready did moving by myself. I wish I could say that the worst was behindme but I can't. Come nine o'clock the truck was filled and the truck doorclosed but a fourth of the stuff in my garage and house were still notloaded!!! I told Andre and he said he didn't expect to be taking thekitchen stuff so he didn't make room and I was like soooo what am Isupposed to do?? Then he huffed away and said fine I'll unload the truckagain! I swear my preteen throws less tantrums than this guy. I called himback and said look how much tip are you expecting and he said none. I saidhow much? He said 40. I said I'll give you 40 just please stop being a painin the ***. They literally packed three more boxes and Andre said if I packmore I can't guarantee the integrity of your tv. I told don many times overthe phone that I had a lot of stuff, including in the garage. Now noteverything fit! So guess what yours truly had to do the next day???? Comeback and pack up the rest of the garage and house! Including the microwave, two rugs, a couple mini plastic drawers, a futon, a huge lamp, etc. Thingsthat should have been taken care of! Not everything fit in my car so I hadto have my mom bring her car! Some things like my full length mirror didn'tfit in our cars so I had to leave them. By the end of the previous nightthe older white guy was wheezing and the black guy was sweating bullets.Andre was still holding a clipboard. I still tipped them 50 each but I'mnot happy. The only good that came out of it was Andre decided not tocharge for the drive because they stopped on the way to eat at jack in thebox, which is fine because they hadn't eaten all day. Honestly I'm not somuch mad at Andre as I am with don. He should know better than to sendexhausted men who haven't eaten all day to a second night job. Humansaren't machines they have limits! They didn't plug in my washer or fridgeand again I still had to go back the next day and do a second move on myown! I loved the two other guys, I forgot their names. They were thenicest, sweetest, most hard working guys! Andre was an *** up till the endwhen he became nice because I think he felt bad about his behavior but itwas too late by then. I was in a bind otherwise if you are going to getmovers make sure you are their first move that day! Empty boxes I couldn'tmove! I know I'm not getting my deposit back! Also later I found out theylost my bookshelves so now I have two bookcases with no shelves! BEWARE!!!

We called Don and he gave us a quote over the phone. It was a great deal and he had someone to our place immediately. He took care of everything and left nothing for us to worry about. His mover George was awesome and Don was very professional. I can tell he cares about his customers and that is important to me when I work with a business. If I had called any other company, they would have charged me 4-5 times what STS Movers charged and I would have received less than half the service that we did. Thank you Don, George and the STS Team!

These movers were very punctual and got right to work and didn't stop until the work was done. They were very pleasant and had great customer service, showing respect for all of our belongings regardless of their size or value. They very safely packed our things in the truck and effectively secured everything into place. They used moving blankets around all furniture and other items to ensure extra protection. I live in an apartment with 2 stories with some difficult turns and narrow passageways, but these movers were able to work there way up and down, and in and out without difficulty; I never heard a single complaint. These guys really know what they are doing. I would strongly recommend them for their great service and highly efficient work. I will surely use them again if the need arises.

4th time we've used these movers. Very pleased.

A few weeks before the move, Don came out to my place in Claremont to meet me and provide an estimate. From the start, he was professional, accommodating, good-natured, caring and clearly very experienced. He gave me a very fair flat rate, and I really appreciated the ease of that approach as opposed to bargaining over numbers of boxes and pieces of furniture. He promised 3 movers on the day of the move and provided 4. He promised to be there at 9 on moving day and he was there early (after a call to let me know he was on his way) to get things started. He and his movers were constantly checking in with me to make sure everything was going the way I wanted it to go. His movers were also professional, flexible, experienced, and good- natured despite having to drive up Highway 5 in terrible Thanksgiving holiday traffic. They were scheduled to unload the next morning at 8, and they were at my door at 7:50, ready to begin. All of my belongings arrived in perfect shape. Don provided a lot more than he promised without even mentioning it. For example, although we agreed that I'd pack everything except the kitchen, they ended up doing a lot more packing than we bargained for in that flat rate, yet Don didn't say a word about it. Somehow they made the move stress-free and even fun. I've never written any kind of on-line review before, but I decided to write this one because online reviews were so helpful to me in weeding out questionable movers and finding and trusting STS. I will definitely hire them again for my next move. Note re home build year: I'm not sure when the condo was built and it's not relevant to this review.

Great! On time, full team, very quick, efficient & well organized, definitely recommend.

They helped us move stuffs and they're very careful but after the moving we had a missing drawer. I called them and they said that there was nothing left on their truck.They communicated very well with their customers. Overall they provided us a good service.

Used them twice: decent job... but a few small details are overlooked. Hard to reach over the phone. 3 guys (always one slacker) but 2 good, hard-working, & experienced guys. Came unprepared for packing... got to go buy necessary materials my-self. A few scratches here and there on furniture and wall. Forgot to pack a bathroom drawer... would have been expensive to replace (shaver, cologne, etc...)

Unreliable. Bad news. Avoid.

This was the third time I have hired STS Movers, because my previous experiences have been so good. The two previous times were house moves. This time Don and his crew moved a 700 lb hot tub spa up 86 steps to a hilltop. Everything was carefully planned and executed. They couldn't have done a better job. I will definitely use STS Movers again for all my future moving needs.
