This review is written based off of multiple interactions with the Westminster branch of Absolute Airflow, specifically in regards to the plumbing department. TLDR: Overpriced, bait & switch style tactics, and immoral. Avoid this company AT ALL costs. Willing to offend you if you frustrate them with valid questions. Also, I asked the technician 3 times for his manager to call me. Never received a call, email, or text. I ALSO called this branch's office & spoke with a receptionist who assured me the manager would call me. Never received a call, email, or text. The story: I've been having drainage issues in our home (built in early 60's) starting at our laundry drain which ties into our kitchen drain for a few months. We contacted Absolute Airflow because of its *glowing* reviews. My experience has been extremely disappointing. -June 3, 2024, Absolute Airflow came out to my home to perform a camera inspection. They insert their camera down my kitchen cleanout, and about 10' in, the camera "gets stuck" and the technician tells me that a spot repair has to be performed in order to fix my line, and then the descaling & epoxy can be performed for the remainder of the line which is sure to "save me money". Nevermind the fact that he was desperate to get his expensive camera out. Regretfully, I sign the contract for around $8,500, which guarantees both a spot repair, descaling, epoxy, and backfill is all completed. Spot repair is performed where they cut a 2'x2' hole in my kitchen floor & through my slab, and they install two $9 neoprene couplings and a 2' section of 2" ABS. When they put the camera back in, it gets stuck into another break and some techs are able to remove it. The tech "London" & the manager "Zach", then tells me my old contract is void because the descaling & epoxy CANNOT be done, and then that a new contract must be drafted for a whole drain line removal & replacement. They walk away and present to me an offer for approx $15,000 now, suggesting the scope of work has changed and that the labor has increased. I review the contract and tell them I'd think about it for a couple days. The technician messaged or called me every day for four days, urging me into signing the contract. I decided I needed more time to think on it and get more opinions. Well I am GLAD I did that. After a few more days, i asked if the cost could be reduced if I personally performed all the demolition, trenching, AND dirt/concrete backfill afterwards. All they had to do was plumb a new cleanout, laundry line, and tie it in to the bathroom drainline. The manager even said "this job's cost is all labor". So after I offered to perform all the said labor, they offered the new contract at $10,000, then I was able to haggle them down to a whopping $9,000 for new plastic. $9,000 to install less than $500 in parts? After I did all the setup, labor, demolition, trenching, dirt removal, drain line removal, concrete backfill, and cleanup? I then told the technician, London, that after much thought & consideration I would like to perform this job with help from experienced neighbors & coworkers (some of whom were previously plumbers) & would be happy to pay for the spot repair that was performed (which was only part of the first, signed contract that was actually performed). I asked him to notify his manager so that I could discuss the amount for the spot repair since it wasn't an itemized bill. London proceeded to insult me, stating I won't know what I'm doing and that the people helping me could mess it up. Up to this point, the tech was relatively professional. I was disappointed, but not surprised, by this arrogant young man's remarks. I asked the technician three times for his manager to call me. Never received a call, email, or text. I called this branch's office & spoke with a receptionist who assured me the manager would call me. Never received a call, email, or text. The only thing I HAVE received, is REPEATED payment requests via email and text for the first signed contract, which included the spot repair AND descale/epoxy job for $9,000. Sometimes I received multiple emails in the same day. It EXPLICITLY states in their contract that it is ILLEGAL to request payment for services that are not performed. Both the manager and technician told me the descale/epoxy couldnt be done, so how & why would I pay for the entire contract? I tried to be fair & pay for the spot repair that was done, but no one will contact me. My instinct are they are hoping for this payment to go to collections for services not performed. I refuse to be bullied into paying for job 1/3rd complete. Overpriced, intimidating, and immoral. Avoid this company AT ALL costs.

The job was horrible the first technician Tony who came out replaced the motor in my furnace and the two Motors on my AC units I haven't used my AC units until a couple of days ago and when I went to use them they turned on and then turned off. So the next day I called and they sent another technician whose name is Gabriel and as soon as he seen the AC unit he told me the motor was the wrong motor and showed me the shaft hitting the condenser and then he opened up the other AC unit he noticed the wires were connected wrong which caused motor to burn out. Just a note you really got to know who's working on your equipment it's costing me over $4,000
Description of Work: The technician Tony came to my home and inspected my heater and said I needed a new motor so he installed a new motor he also inspected my AC units and said I needed new Motors so I told him to replace them a few months pass and I needed to use my AC units I turn on my AC units and they start up and they immediately stop. So I call absolute airflow up the next day they send another technician whose name is Gabriel as soon as Gabriel sees me he tells me the technician Tony is no longer working with the company. I take him to the back to see my AC units he immediately tells me that the one AC unit that the motor was replaced on the shaft is hitting the compressor he then opens up the second AC unit and notices the wires are connected wrong which burned out the motor on my AC unit. So Gabriel tells me that he will let his manager and HR know happened I believe he did but they didn't even bother to call me so I called them and told them about the situation. And all the other person did on the other end of the phone was telling me he was sorry and that they would get back to me the same day and again to my disappointment they did not get back to me. It cost me over $4,000 to get both my AC units not working

This is a review for Yocum Plumbing and Absolute Air Flow, as they appear to now be the same company, and or affiliated with one another. On Thursday September 29th I hired Yocum Plumbing to come out for a clogged toilet. We have used them before and we’re great. John Jacobson the technician came out and preformed the service and we were happy. When it came down to paying, John mentioned they now do AC/Heating and that they offer a membership which would give us a 15% discount on the service but also comes with a free annual HVAC / heater maintenance service among a few other perks. I agreed, signed up for the membership and asked to be scheduled for the AC and heater maintenance. John said no problem and asked to take some photos of the ac unit and furnace for the technician they would send out so he knows what he’s working with. We had no problem with it and showed him where the compressor was and told him the coils and furnace is in the attic. He grabbed a ladder, went up and came down 2 minutes later. The next morning, my mother called me about 7am saying water is pouring down from the ceiling in the hallway (where the AC and furnace is) onto the hardwood floor. I immediately called Yocum and spoke with John and explained I believe a pipe burst or something. He said he will send out an AC tech that has plumbing training. I didn’t care I wanted someone out ASAP. The AC Tech, Chris Burkman called me with his ETA , said he talked to John and reassured me he will take care of this AC issue. (I thought to myself how does he know it’s an AC issue, he hasn’t arrived yet). Once Chris went into the attic he told me it would be $213 to clean the drain pipe that’s clogged. Once he finished that he told me we have significant water damage and listed off a bunch of things and said they work with 770 water damage restoration and can have them come out asap for an estimate. I agreed. At that moment Chris vanished. I saw on the cameras, They got into the truck and left. I didn’t sign anything nor make any payments which was odd. I called Chris he said they had an emergency call and since he’s coming out on Thursday for the AC maintenance he would just waive the fee and roll it into the maintenance but just asked for me not to mention this to the office staff. I thought that was suspicious. Right then, 770 showed up for the estimate, not 5 minutes after the phone call with Chris asking where he is. It was less than 10 minutes from when Chris left. Julio from 770 wanted to leave equipment but we declined as the home is in my grandfathers name, it’s up to him what we do and asked for the estimate which was $4800 CASH. He understood and told me that he told Chris what to say and put down in his notes when Chris was on his way to my home so should this turn into a insurance claim, it would get approved. At this point I realized that is possibly going on. They sabotaged the unit on Thursday, come racing to our aid on Friday when the flooding happens, and then collect a nice fat kickback from the restoration company. I asked several people and they all agreed it was too much of a coincidence for this not to be exactly what happened. I had our usual AC guy come out and make sure our AC and Heater were good to go. He also explained my AC unit has a back up drain to prevent just this happening and more than likely what was done is the drains pipe was popped off and turned upside down allowing the flooding otherwise it wouldn’t have happened.

December 9, 2021 RE: Letter of Recommendation for Absolute Airflow I am giving Absolute Airflow a 10 out of 5 stars! It is not an exaggeration to say that Absolute Airflow has set the bar for customer service – and they set it high! In fact, I have compared the service of every company we have interacted with since then to the service we received from them! In June 2021 we hired them to replace the 50+ year old air duct system and install a new HVAC. The air duct replacement had caused me some angst, as I had read articles where people choosing to have this type of work done had come up against nightmares for the homeowner. But I did not need to worry. Every person we encountered from this company – from the initial estimation appointment to the final inspection of the work was handled by courteous, efficient, communicative, responsive, careful, thorough, and professional employees. They arrived on time for every appointment and all scheduled work times. The new ducting installation was seamless, and it looks fantastic! They took a load of pictures, so we didn’t have to climb up there and inspect the work (thank you). The new ducting system was flawless! The transformation of the heater closet in which they installed the new unit FAR exceeded our expectations. They did a beautiful job. Their installation of the Nest thermostat brought our 50 year old house up to the standards of a modern home. It really did feel like a new house. The evening of the day before they were to complete the work, we went through the house, noting any concerns we wanted to draw to their attention to. We found only two minor ones: a small ding in the wall where one of the vents had been replaced and the company logo on the outdoor A/C unit was backwards due to the placement of the unit itself. We decided since they had done such a superb job on everything else, we would not mention these two rather insignificant matters. The following day, after they left, we discovered much to our delight and surprise, they had remedied both matters without a word from us!! Talk about attention to detail. This company is unbelievable! I didn’t think customer service like this existed anymore. Thank you, Absolute Airflow for your extraordinary work.
