Fairway Electric

These people were hired, and paid in advance, to install landscape lighting in my backyard. In November of LAST YEAR, I hired Fairway Electric for a simple light installation and paid them $170.00 for a mere two hours of their time. They took the money, but never showed up. It was impossible to arrange a time with them to show up to perform the work. Further, on more than one occasion, when a time was finally agreed upon, they called last minute and cancelled, when I had already taken time off work to wait for their arrival. More commonly, their trick is to get the customer off the phone by claiming that they will call you back after checking their availability – but they never do. So, the lights I bought last November for these flakes to install are now out of warranty and, thanks to Fairway Electric, have never even been taken out of the box. Be extremely careful when choosing vendors. Great weight and credence should be given to these reviews. After all, these reviews are precisely why we pay extra to be members on THIS website. Unless you want your money and your time wasted, look for an electrician elsewhere. Fairway Electric is far from FAIR!!

I was very pleased with their service. I have a relay switch electrical system which is uncommon. The tech sent was Oscar and he was familiar with this type of electric so that gained my confidence in them. He was knowledgeable, professional and did good work.

They charged an extra $425 because they had to open up the electrical box to fix the light. They had to replace the electric line going from the box to the light. I was not expecting it to be so much more expensive.

He was very professional and knew what he was doing. It was very excellent work.

Paul and his team went above and beyond all expectations. There was no lack of communication and his team were prompt the entire time. Fairway electric is one of very few contractors we've had a positive experience with. So much detail was put into this project, I can't even express how happy we were at the results. They will become our default electricians.

They were great! They were able to fit me into their schedule quickly. Tommy came out and did a great job helping me figure out what I would need and how to bring it up to code. Chris did the actual installation, and he was phenomenal. Extremely kind and hard working, he really went the extra mile. It was a big job and they got it all done in a day and a half. Would absolutely hire again.

Oscar, very good worker. Best service I've every had. Excellent, I wouldn't use anybody else. His workers are excellent, from his desk to his wife and his workers. Good work.

The electrician installed 2 sets of 3-way ge smart switches and a new gfi outlet without any problem.

The actual work on the light fixture was completed in 10 minutes or less, but getting here at the scheduled time was not a concern of this company. After several specific requests that they keep me posted on arrival time, they did not show up on time and I had to call them. Original appointment window was between 10:00 AM and 12:00 noon. After my call they changed it to between 2:00 and 4:00 PM. Field Tech was polite and professional and got here around 2:45 and left around 3:30.

I had a breaker that continued to trip, I contacted Paul and he said he would try to get a member of his team out to my house later in the afternoon. Unfortunately due to schedules and the way traffic is in Southern California it wasn't going to happen, but Paul called me and fully explained the situation and he gave me a few options. Either he could get someone out the following afternoon, or if I felt comfortable he would stay on the phone with me and assist me in troubleshooting the issue. I would consider myself a weekend handyman so I gave it a go with Paul, let's me start by saying Paul was a true professional and didn't treat me like an adult talking to a 5 year old and was clear and precise in all of his instruction. Needless to say with Paul on the line I was able to correct the issue and the breaker is no longer tripping. Though Paul lost out on the service call to the house, he left a lasting impression and if I ever need anything done I will be calling Paul first, Thanks Again!!!

Came out and looked. Was over 2 hours late. Never provided me with an estimate for service. Terrible company.

Not long after we bought our new home, we had a few electrical problems…a couple of bad breakers that needed to be replaced and a wire that wasn’t properly attached to the panel. Small stuff and it was all taken care of by the homeowner’s insurance policy that we purchased when we bought our home. Unfortunately, as we added a few ceiling fans and our A/V equipment, we started to have more electrical problems. Enter the Poltergeists. We would turn on a light in the living room and all the lights in the kitchen would start to flicker or we would turn on a light in the laundry room and the kitchen lights would go out, and it got worse from there. Not good. Of course, these problems were not covered by the homeowner’s insurance policy. We were told that bad wiring was the cause of the Poltergeists. Plus we also had another problem. A different breaker had the microwave on the same circuit with 4 other outlets in the living room and, two others in the kitchen, one of which was a GFI. So, we had to make sure that if we used the microwave, nothing else was in play. At this point, my wife, who had an experience like this many years ago in another house was thinking that we would have to have the whole house re-wired, which would be very expensive. Not a happy outlook. Needless to say, we needed a good, reliable and honest electrician to assess the situation and the sooner the better. Two “very good” recommendations from friends turned into one “no show” and one “never returned our call”. So, I started researching electrician reviews on Angie’s List, Yelp and Google, and that’s when I found Fairway Electric. They had really good to great reviews, almost too good to be true. Could they really be that good? There was only one way to find out. So, I called the number and Paul Harris, the owner answered. I explained the situation and yes, like many of the other reviewers stated, he was very patient and understanding. He told me that he would send one of his guys out to get a first-hand look at the problem. That guy was Jaime. Jaime arrived on time. That alone, in my book, gets you points. I’m sure most homeowners have experienced, more than once, the frustration of waiting and “no shows”. Jaime was very professional and after walking through the crazy “electrical light show”, told me that this troubleshooting was a two-man job and that if I wanted to go forward with the job Paul would put us on the schedule. Absolutely! And by the way, there was no charge for the visit. I was floored. A couple of days later, Jaime and Oscar showed up and on-time. Three hours later all the problems (very bad wiring) were fixed… every one of them. They were amazing! My wife was ecstatic! No more Poltergeists and the cost…$460. A lot less than thousands of dollars for a re-wiring job. At that time, we also discussed installing two new dedicated circuits, one for the microwave and one for the GFI and the other outlet in the kitchen that was linked to it. They gave me a very fair quote of $570, which we accepted and scheduled an appointment for a couple of weeks later, when I had the time. Thanks to Kyle in the office for taking care of the scheduling. So, in the end, all those good to great reviews were true. VERY TRUE! If we ever need electrical work again in our home, there will be only one phone call and that will be to Fairway Electric. Thanks to Paul, Jaime, Oscar and Kyle.

I responded to their quote and told them it was too high compared to many other highly rated electricians here. They ignored my message. They obviously like to bid high and wait for someone to bite.

Very well; appointment was easy to make, worker was delayed due to traffic and we were notified of the delay. Work was done well at a reasonable price.
