Fairway Electric

Everything went great. I reached Paul by phone and we scheduled an appointment for the following week. The technician arrived promptly, phoned me with details of the job and confirmed what the cost would be. The quality of the work was good and it was completed promptly. The technician was very polite and professional.

I called Fairway to set up an installation of a ceiling fan in a new room in our house. At first everything was great. Paul, the owner, sounded nice on the phone. He gave me a quote over the phone, which raised some red flags for me, but he assured me he used to do ceiling fans only and he could give a quote on the phone on the phone. He gave the most customer service out of all the quotes I got and seemed the most professional. We scheduled and his guy came out to our house, but 3 hours ahead of schedule (we planned 1030am the electrician came at 730am). He looked at the site and immediately had all sorts of issues with the job. What was a simple install became really complicated, and the cost went from $265 to $400 at least. Mind you I had another quote for $150 with wire molding. I suggested midway through to do, what I knew was simpler, a wire molding installation. He said he would have to talk to Paul. When he came back he told me the wire molding would still be $400 and proceeded to try to argue me into believing it was just as expensive. I said I would call Paul personally. When I tried his phone he did not answer, and I'll be surprised if he calls back. I then got a call from Hollis, the electrician who looked at the work, and he told me he felt a portable air conditioner would be better. His friendly advice is a little too late. I don't think Fairway is trust worthy at all.

I called company about a problem with recessed lighting and they sent someone over within 2 hours of the call identified and repaired the wiring. Moreover, he spent quite a bit of time inspecting area and explaining in great detail the problem re my request.

Two men did the above work in two days. They were very nice, helpful and competent. They cleaned up thoroughly when done - all-in-all very professional.

They scheduled an appointment right away, and came out to look at the job. They arranged for the DWP to come out and spot the new location for the panel. They gave an estimate that included both cases where I upgraded the panel, and where I kept the original panel. The only thing I didn't like was that they didn't explain to me the benefits of a new panel.

The work was performed very well, and once the men arrived they were courteous, professional, and careful. They explained what they would do for each step and when they left they cleaned up after themselves and did a great job. Unfortunately, the experience began not so great because on the morning of our initial appointment, no one showed up, and after I called and was assured someone was on their way, I was later told (after I called back again) that they had a scheduling error and no one would be available that morning. I was rescheduled for the next day (a Saturday) and told someone would arrive punctually. When, on Saturday morning, 30 minutes had gone by since the scheduled time, I again called. I was told the person doing my work had forgotten to leave an earlier job and was just now leaving, and would arrive in an hour, which at that point would make it on the way to two hours after our scheduled time. The most frustrating part of the entire timing issues is that I had to call multiple times to obtain this information - no one contacted me to tell me directly of any scheduling mishaps or that they were running late until after I called. Between taking time off of work and then giving up multiple extra hours on a Saturday because the company did not arrive as scheduled, twice, I feel this showed a lack of respect for my time. That said, I would use this company again and give them a second chance because they did good work, and they were courteous and professional when they arrived and in handling my grievance. I would suggest over-confirming your scheduled times with them and possibly requesting the earliest possible time in the day.

Technician arrived on time. Work was done well, and in a professional way. Results are very good.

Paul was very responsive and helpful, offering his cell to help me while I shopped for the parts (which I chose to do to save $). Tommy and crew showed up on time and were very thorough in their assessment, ensuring that he knew EXACTLY what I wanted. He also provided great advice where I needed it. They were very careful, clean and did the job in one day...the day after I called! There was one spot where they misjudged the line and had to cut an extra hole but all in all I had very little to paint and patch. They had a great attitude and were a pleasure to work with. I'd definitely use them again!!!

We bought a condo which had a gas dryer instead of an electric dryer. our new dryer was an electric dryer. The previous contractor ( who set up our dryer) didn't adjust the amp needed to run the dryer properly, so the dryer stopped frequently and we had to reset the brake switch often. Very frustrating! Fairway Electric had been very profesional from start to finish. Tommy was very nice, arrived on time, and he worked on rewiring the outlet ( he increased the amp) and now our dryer is working great! We will use this company again whenever we need any electrical work done in our condo.

Called in the morning and the office had electrician in the field call me and scheduled repair the same day. Work was completed by the early afternoon.

They were very good, very quick and very clean. They were very professional and cleaned up after themselves.

The fan on our ceiling fan worked fine, but every time we screwed in a lightbulb we would hear crackling noises and the bulb would quickly burn out. I looked up Fairway Electric on Angie's List and emailed Paul Harris. He called the next morning, we played telephone tag over the weekend, then caught up on Sunday and arranged for him to come that Tuesday, between 11 am - 2 pm. In the meantime, he asked me to pick up a new light kit. At about 11:01 Jaime (sp?) was at the door. He was punctual, professional, and pleasant. About 30 minutes later our ceiling fan was up and running. The original bill was $100 but we received a 10% discount since we found him on Angie's List. We would definitely use Fairway Electric again.

Tommy called a day before he came to verify what the job was and to be sure that he would have the right equipment and parts to complete the job. He arrived exactly when he said he would (10 minutes early, actually, on both occasions, and waited in the car) and did the work efficiently, very well and cheerfully. He was able to make the wiring work so that the lights I wanted to come on together did, in fact, come on together. Fairway charges $100 for a service call and the serviceman was respectful of billing only an hour for the three simple jobs I needed done. The company also provides a 10% discount on service calls to repeat customers, so I paid $90 instead of $100 on the most recent visit -- a nice addition. With respect to the more elaborate job of installing lighting up the path in the backyard, the price was reasonable and the work was done as promised, neatly, and, again, efficiently. My only comment is, as a person inexperienced with electrical matters, I did not understand that putting in a low-voltage lighting system outdoors would mean I wouldn't be able to turn the lights on from indoors because they're on different voltage systems. Knowing what I do now, I would have made the same decision to install low-voltage lights, but it would have been helpful if this had been explained to me beforehand. Paul Harris, the boss, is very personable and obviously cares about pleasing his clients and seeing that the work is done well. Both he and Tommy seemed conscious of keeping expenses down and being honest about recommending fixtures, etc., that they know to be reliable and advising against those that aren't. I am delighted to have discovered Fairway Electric on Angie's List.

They were knowledgeable, and did the job pretty quickly. They answered all my questions. They were kind, courteous, and cleaned up once the job was done. It took them couple of hours to finish the work.

There was alot of follow up with this company. Very busy company. Had to email them alot. Took a long time for it all to happen from start to finish.

They were great. The man arrived about when they said he would. The technician was knowledgeable, courteous, and efficient. He had no problem when I asked for an extra item to be installed and even went to get the part himself. As a courtesy, he even checked our circuit breaker box to make sure it was still safe. I recommend this company highly.

I found that working with Fairway an excellent experience. They were prompt and communicated well from start to finish. They dug up my yard, but it was cleaned up and looks as good as ever. The electricians were communicative and informed me at all aspects of the job.

They called to schedule, go there on time, and completed on time. Notified us of existing conditions and told us that an extra day would be required. Came back the next day and completed the job. Worked around tenant without being imposing.

Just great. Called on a Saturday, estimate and work completed Monday. The electrician, Tommy, was punctual, professional, friendly, and a hard worker. He had to put up with our dog, a tight dusty crawl space, and electrical system from WW2. He took care of all the work, which was associated with our kitchen renovation, rapidly and professionally. Not knowing anyone else at the company, I would ask for Tommy.

It was a small job, but it was done quickly and professionally.

From first phone contact to job completion, they were professional, knowledgeable and pleasant.

They were on time for their appointment. Assessment was not very long and they had to order parts. The electricity had to be tapped from another sign. The bulb had to be ordered. They made two visits and the work was done neatly. Recently they called to let us know we overpaid and were sending us a refund.

The company was very easy to get in touch with, responded both by telephone and email. I made an appointment and the electrician came promptly on time working in about two hours. The estimate was exact and everything was done to my satisfaction.

Very professional and knowledgeable. If I ever need an electrician I'm calling these guys.
