I have been growing in the trades from 1975, from my first job in a lumber yard stacking lumber then building custom furniture as well as obtaining a background in plumbing. This led to my first job as an electrical helper at age seventeen, by the time I was twenty I was in charge of a Los Angeles based Company for seventeen years. We work with and for several Property Management companies and we have remolded a Ritz Carlton from the ground up in MDR. For the last several years we have been part of building many homes from the ground up and several remodels. NO JOB IS TOO SMALL, we work on all levels of service. Absolutely the worst experience I've ever had with an electrician. I paid $100 to Paul the owner to come out and give an estimate for my EV charger five weeks ago. A week or so later I got an estimate emailed to me with the cost of the job listed at $0.00. I called a few days later and asked if I could have an actual estimate for the work and he said give him a couple days and he would send me an estimate. Two weeks passed with no word, I called him and asked for an estimate and he said he would look into it immediately. Another week passed and I called again asking if I could have a refund for the $100 which I paid for essentially nothing. He said absolutely not and that give him until the end of the day and he would have the estimate to me. ANOTHER WEEK goes by with zero contact and I called to ask for another refund and he said NO! FIVE WEEKS have passed now, with absolutely nothing to show. Horrible customer service, rude on the phone, and a complete disdain for his customers. Do not hire this guy Paul for anything - ever.

The customer had installed [Member Information Removed] conduit without his HOA's approval. We were asked to come to the property and evaluate what or how the conduit could be installed without [Member Information Removed] penetration through the side wall. Not approved by his HOA. He asked how much to come and evaluate his predicament and find [Member Information Removed] different [Member Information Removed] to install his conduit for the EV charger. I answered with [Member Information Removed] $100.00 consultation fee of which 50% would be returned if he decided to work with us. We made an appointment, the customer let us in but could not stay for the walk through. We even went back [Member Information Removed] second time to be hands on with the customer. But again the customer chose not to stay. All he asked for was [Member Information Removed] different option of how the run the conduit and wire. As for the estimate I gave him [Member Information Removed] verbal cost of 2 men most of the day plus minor materials $1250-$1500 on the phone and never received [Member Information Removed] call back. until [Member Information Removed] week later saying he needed something in writing ( Obviously ) This person can do his own work. AS he did the first install and it was [Member Information Removed] good clean install. He just wanted us to give him instructions for his next attempt We did leave him field paperwork . Which gave him [Member Information Removed] better option for install. I even told him to use Marine Grade concrete to patch the hole he made. When he called back He said If I didn't get his $100.00 back he would place [Member Information Removed] bad report on Angie's list . I said we did supply you with paperwork for your fist request. We met the obligation of the $100. fee I don't approve of being bullied. When we did supply the service requested on the first call an evaluation in writing. His request for an estimate came much later. Yes we were overwhelmed with work at that time and it was difficult . This is a great company. Everyone was responsive and the crew showed up exactly as promised. We had 6 ceiling lights put into our living room. There have never been any lights in there at all. Installed all six and a new light switch in less than two hours. Very minimal damage to the ceilings and wall. Lights look great! Would highly recommend these guys and will use them again if I need any electrical done.

Not well - he would not return the call to confirm a day to complete the request.
Description of Work: I simply needed an outlet to be grounded for a dishwasher. Paul answered the phone and asked I email him with the information so he could check his calendar. He promised he would call me later in the day as he was in the field. No call back. I followed up the next day and again said he would call me in 15 minutes as he was busy. No call back. I called a third time thinking surely he would have a general idea of his schedule - same reply, no calendar with him and would call back. No call back. I'm highly disappointed. If the job was too small, then his honesty would have been appreciated. Ignoring a customer is bad business.

I left a VM after 10PM and received a call-back in less than 60 minutes. Paul patiently walked me through switching off-on my circuits. The culprit ending up being a bad power strip which will be replaced immediately. I was able to get the issued fixed without him having to come out, free-of-charge! Highly Recommended! Thank Paul!!

I called the number where Paul answered and asked me to email the list of things done. I sent the email and told him that my appliances are being delivered on 12/26. He said he would try to schedule someone before then as his first availability was on 12/26. I got couple of emails from Tatiana but the response rate was slow. The weekend was gone and came 12/26 with my appliances delivered with no electrical outlet. Then called Paul on 12/27 and spoke to him. He again asked me to email and said he would schedule somebody right away. I sent the email right away. Today is Saturday, 12/30 and haven't heard from anybody yet. I just wasted about 10 days waiting for this company to provide service. I got carried away with all the reviews but not sure what happened in my case.

The electrician was courteous and worked at the lights - diagnosing for two hours. He ended up summarizing the capacitors were shot and clipped the wires as the lights were new construction and difficult to remove. I'm not an electrician but that was a long time to arrive at an issue and just have a couple of wires snipped - also shouldn't the ends of the wires be taped?
Description of Work: I light circuit wouldnt switch off, we asked to resolve this then swap out some of the recessed halogen lights for LED pots.

Workmen were very nice on the first visit . No work was done because fuse and circuit breaker needed to be ordered. Paid $40. Second visit the workman was supposed to show up at 7:30 am and arrived at 8:45 am (1 hour 15 minutes late). He was not knowledgeable and made an error but corrected it. He didn't have a receipt book. I paid him anyway because it was during the heat wave and we needed our A/C. The second visit was $125. We have not received a proper receipt and instead were sent an invoice for payment. The owner is a flake.

We had an appointment set and he missed it. We rescheduled for today and so I took off early from work to make the appointment. He wanted to come in the morning, but I told him I work in the morning and the afternoon is best for me. Our appointment was for 12:30 pm, and he never showed. After an hour, I called him and he said he would be there in about an hour. I left and had lunch and he still did not show. I called him again and asked, "Where are you?" He said, "I'm on your street and in front of your house in one minute." I went outside and waited for 5 minutes and never saw him. I called him back and he told me that his tech was on the freeway which was about 20 minutes away . He told me he would like to do the work in the morning, I reminded him why that wouldn't work for me. He said that he didn't like my tone and that he didn't like being spoken to like he was a child. I did not speak with a tone, he became upset and disconnected the call.

OK so my customers afternoon calls are very difficult to be exactly on time as much as we want to be we live in Los Angeles I also have to cater to the customers that came before I tried several times to make an earlier appointment for a pre-paid three hour job customer kept insisting that it be in the afternoon The customer called me and said where are you I said I'm turning on your block this was my mistake I was turning on to another customers job and had a technician going to the customer in question he was only about 10 minutes away again we live in Los Angeles I can't control the traffic I can't control the customers that came before when were troubleshooting or they ask us to do additional work we're obligated to meet the customers needs when this customer started to yell at me I said sir you don't have to yell we can talk about this job he said my time is very valuable I said I understand I said please don't Yell at me I need to respect you and I'd like you to respect us please he said I own you I paid for three hours that's what I severed the relationship i'm sorry this happened apparently this customers under a lot of pressure and so are we quite honestly we have to do our best for all customers I regret this incident happened Paul S Harris 3108647171

He called the day before and said "See you tomorrow morning." The next day he never showed up nor did he call. While waiting for him in the 7:30 am to 11 am arrival time window we watched some YouTube videos and figured out the switch wiring ourselves. We needed to connect the neutral wire and weren't sure which one it was until we saw the video. We got both switches working but still have the outdoor light still needs to be installed by an electrician.

I contacted Fairway on four occasions, including a phone call, where tentative schedules were given. I was flexible to work with their busy schedule by providing three times and rearranging my schedule to facilitate a different time. After two appointments were missed with no follow-up, I contacted Angie's List customer support to complain. That got me an email and a call to schedule an appointment. That appointment was missed without a follow up as well. I simply do not understand why a company with the kind of reviews I see here could be so lackadaisical in their approach to my job. Unprofessional is the kindest word I will use to describe this. I wasn't even given an apology by Fairway or an explanation. Perhaps business is just so good for Fairway Electric that conscientiousness to customers using coupons is a risk calculation that doesn't adversely effect their bottom line. Good for them. Not for me.

We then scheduled an appointment for a technician to come out the next morning to replace the outlet. The technician called prior to coming to our house and arrived promptly. He replaced the outlet and now my refrigerator is plugged into that outlet and working again! Great experience!
Description of Work: The spare refrigerator in my garage went out so I called Fairway after 5:30pm and spoke to the owner (who called me back while shopping from Costco!). After describing my problem, he said it sounded like a bad outlet and not a problem with the refrigerator. The owner told me to try plugging the refrigerator into another outlet, which I did and which turned the refrigerator back on! So the outlet needed to be replaced.

The work was good. Fast, clean and professional. I was only annoyed that the electrician showed up but had to leave right away to go to another job and then come back several hours later. The owner was responsive and apologetic but I had to stay home from work to wait for the guy to come back.

He immediately asked what kind of light it was; bulb, pull chain or switch. After answering those questions he said he thought he knew what was wrong and asked if I were ok troubleshooting. Within 10 minutes (8 were wasted with me not following directions correctly) I flipped the switch and on goes the light. Paul was very patient and saved me money. You have no idea how refreshing that was!!! He could have easily taken my money and come out and did the exact same thing. Paul did not have to do that! He is in the business to make money and it didn't take advantage of my naivete but he walked me through was he thought was the problem (which is was spot on about) and helped me resolve it! I have an apartment unit I will be renovating this year and the first person I will call for the electrical work will be Fairway Electric - solely based on my experience with Paul today! Fairway Electric has a walking advertiser in me!

Had two visits. The first one was flawless. The second was confirmed via email but apparently not kept, so the service provider had to rush to locate a new service person to perform the job. Once the new guy did arrive they did the work professionally and to my satisfaction.
