+ -1 moreLost power in part of my house. Replaced breaker and a couple of outlets myself and still had the issue. Called Fairway and followed up with an email containing my address. Set an appointment for the next day. Electrician came by and after some troubleshooting found the issue. It was some burnt wires behind a light switch. He replaced the wires and the power came back on. Electrician was very knowledgable and kept me appraised the whole time. Great experience and will use Fairway again.

+ 0 moreI emailed this company on a Sunday afternoon via their QuickConnect Premium Notice on Angie's List. As promised, they emailed me back within one hour and offered an electrician to come the next day. I requested a morning time and I was given an 8 to 8:30 am arrival time. Tommy came at 8:20 am. He was very professional, did an excellent job and was also very nice and cooperative. He quickly determined that the sensor light switch in dining room was fine and changed the halogen bulb in the hanging glass pendant fixture. He put in a new 3 combo sensor light, heat and fan switch in main bath. He also vacuumed out talcum powder in a ceiling fan in main bath. Finally, I asked him if he could take a small box I had with accumulated wires, old electronic equipment and batteries to be disposed of properly, and he immediately said yes. I was very pleased with the quality of his work, his professionalism and his cooperativeness. I would definitely contact this company again. I had contacted 2 other companies which didn't respond until the next day.

I contacted Paul and he sent out his team to troubleshoot they fixed all of our outdoor lights and found custom parts to fix the driveway lights. His estimate was fair and the work was completed within budget. We have had Fairway come out since the first visit to work in the kitchen they are honest and i would highly recommend them.

He listened to me patiently and set to work right away, fixing the problems fast, neat, and professionally. As a woman, I cringe at the prospect of being more susceptible to fraudulent practices and higher prices. When I find a trustworthy contractor, I stick with them. I will use Fairway Electric again.

+ 1 moreThe work was not easy, and Tommy approached it with enthusiasm and an eye to save money and minimize the disruption to walls and ceilings. The ceiling fan was installed very quickly, as were the smoke alarms. He even was able to save the entire light housing that he removed, in case we wanted to use it elsewhere. The chandelier was hung successfully and treated with care. Pendant light as well. There was one glitch where Tommy's assistant (this was a new assistant) miswired something, causing complications. However, once Tommy figured out the problem, he took full responsibility and made sure that everything was fixed correctly. My husband was a participant through much of the process and was very impressed with Tommy's knowledge, skill, and attention to detail. Tommy explained everything he was doing, and was willing to discuss suggestions from my husband. Tommy's regular assistant, Jose, was very careful and meticulous. We will be installing a full home surge protector after the holidays, at Tommy's recommendation. We are impressed!!! We will absolutely be using Fairway Electric in the future.
Description of Work: Tommy installed a ceiling fan where there was only a light before. Also, installed new hard-wired smoke alarms and hung a swag chandelier where he had to do new wiring to get electricity to the chandelier. Also repaired a broken ceiling light and repaired some faulty wiring.

This was very important as my husband and I manage dad's house in Culver City, Ca from up in in Seattle, Wa. Paul was in and out in 2 days with very little repair to walls. Tommy, Paul's number one guy was polite, fast and clean which the tenants and I appreciated. We would recommend them again and again to anyone with confidence. And we now have an on call trusted electrician we can count on.
Description of Work: Paul inspected the electrical for working order and safety. The electrical was 60 years old and Paul recommended the home be re-wired totally including the garage. He emailed an estimate within a couple days of the home inspection.

Description of Work: We had what we thought was a hard-wired smoke alarm that kept going off, and we also had overhead lights in our kitchen and library that kept shutting down after they had been on for a while. Paul promptly scheduled an appointment for us. Tommy, the electrician who came out, was very nice and knowledgeable. The "smoke alarm" problem turned out to be nothing other than my husband and I being idiots and not knowing how to remove the device and replace the battery. Tommy was really nice about it though (and even brought us a battery the next day when he came back, since we hadn't had a chance to get one on our own). The real challenge was the overhead lighting. Tommy thought the problem was probably that the cannisters needed to be replaced, so he ordered new ones and came back the next day and installed them. I was worried about damage, since we have real plaster ceilings which are French waxed, and to repair damage to the ceilings would have been a major expense. Tommy was super careful and there was absolutely no damage. The problem was that after a couple of days, the overhead lights started to go out again. Both Paul and Tommy stayed with the problem until they found a solution....a special kind of reflector low voltage bulb where the heat is directed downward...this solved the problem! And they didn't charge me for labor or replacement cannisters (the overheating problem had burned out the new cannisters), nor for the couple of return visits Tommy made to evaluate the situation and try to figure out a solution. Oh, and Tommy also happily special ordered and replaced a lightswitch for me. This may not seem like a lot of work, but believe me it was. I need to replace my kitchen undercounter lighting, and I'm definitely going to use Fairway (hopefully Tommy, although I have to believe everyone who works for Paul is good) for that job. I highly recommend Paul and his group.

I made the mistake to hire my cleaning lady's husband to wire my storage shed and upgrade my electric panel estimated to be 4 to 5 work days starting September first. Well, 6 weeks later and with the contents of my storage shed laying all around the house........ Paul's professionalism and timely performance restored sanity. Last Thursday I contacted Paul through Angie's list, Friday I got his bid, Monday at 8 his workmen arrived and by 5 they were gone with the panel changed, electricity back on and the grounds cleaner then when they arrived. + -1 moreOur Master bedroom lights had been blinking for a few weeks and then on Monday night they went out. After a dark night, we called Paul. I had a tight schedule that day but he came up while I was still able to be home and assessed the situation and got the lights working again. The next morning at 8AM his two guys came up a fix the bad bus and trouble shoot all the little things that contributed to our problem. They got a lot done in the two hours they were here, including assessing a future job that we will have them do in a few months. Paul and his guys were punctual, respectful and very very nice.
Description of Work: Fixed bad bus, rearrange and tightened lines in the electrical box so that it functioned better, fixed several bad plugs and a bad switch set up.

+ 0 moreBecause I had damaged the timer, and didn't want to buy another one at this time, they fixed the switch so I could turn the lights on manually until I decide to buy another timer.
Description of Work: after attempting to install a outside light timer and not being able to do it, or turn the light on manually, I needed help in connecting a timer for the lighting outside my front door. I had to reschedule oiur appointment due to misunderstanding. However, because of delays and misunderstandings, Paurl reduced the cost (at his own suggestion). I finally found out that the reason I had been having a problem installing the light timer was because I had damage it when I had previously tried to install it myself. Paul was very nice and easy to deal with.

+ -1 morePaul was very helpful and understanding the whole time, including numerous delays in delivery, causing me to reschedule on him a couple of times. Once he got out to the house, he took a look and was able to have his guys out first thing the next morning to start the work. I had gotten a couple of other estimates and Paul's was definitely the highest. That being said, with all the great reviews on Angieslist and knowing that electric is nothing you want to mess around with, especially for a jacuzzi, I decided to go with his company. Paul's guys arrived promptly at 7:30AM, exactly when he said they would. That's a great start right there. I had to go to work that day for some meetings I couldn't reschedule meaning in-home access was not available until about 12:30. Paul's team was very accommodating. They did all the outside work in the AM and by the time I got home, they were nearly done and just had to finish by running the wire through the attic. The job was explained to me in detail, including some demo that had to be done at the breaker. They made a very small cut and while I expecting a big stucco patch, it was done so well, that the patch was minimal. Even though the attic was tight and HOT (since it was already 1PM when they got up there), they were quick and professional the whole way. We plugged it in to make sure it was all good and running perfectly, which it was. Final clean up was fantastic, you would hardly know they were there. I was enjoying the spa later that night. Paul also followed up after the job to make sure everything was to my satisfaction. Overall, a great experience. Definitely recommend and would work with Paul again.
Description of Work: Paul had his team install a spa for me, which required running a 50AMP circuit out of the main breaker, through the attic, and out to the patio off our bedroom, where the spa was located.

+ -1 moreThis guy is consistent! Back in May, I was looking for an electrician to do a total electrical upgrade to my house and I saw Smith Electric. Although some of the reviews were kind of shady, i decided to give him a call anyway. When I called, he seemed professional and seemed interested in the job. In our phone conversation, I mentioned to him the bad reviews that I saw but I would still give him a chance. He told me to send him an email of the work that needed to be done and he would get back to me. He called back and said that he would come by to give me an estimate on that Thursday morning at 7:30, which was perfect because I had been getting estimates all week at that time. THIS GUY NEVER SHOWED UP AND HE NEVER CALLEDl! He didn't call to reschedule, apologize, postpone, send an email, tweet, write a poem, Nothing!!! PAUL, WHAT HAPPENED? I BELIEVED IN YOU, MAN! I tried to have some faith in the guy but he just lived up to the bad reviews. TRY TO DO BETTER!
