I interviewed about 4 electric companies and went with Fairway. I'm very glad I did! They were great. Paul the owner was really a pleasure to deal with. He was very communicative and easy to deal with when things arose.---as they always do when dealing with a house built in the early 1920's and dealving into an electrical system that was really old. Bottom line, I'm thrilled with the work they did, super professional and both guys that worked on the place treated it as if it was their own home they were working on. TOmmy did the new 220V line install for AC, and had to work like h*** to get the proper conduits in. he a did a great job cutting through the back wall in the most minimal way he was able, and really knew what he was doing. In fact, he and Paul spent extra time looking for a smaller sub panel box for me and didn't just grab the one that was easily found and do the job all in one day. They knew I would not be happy with such a large unecessary size of a box and made the extra effort to hunt for the size (like I said , always issues when you have an old house), and then came and did the total panel upgrade on a different day. Jaime replaced the sub panel and I have to say, he must have been a sculptor in a former life. He had to cut and enlarge the front wall around where the smaller older sub-panel was and I really didn't want to have to patch that wall as well, so he promised to do the best job he could. He took tons of time, and cut carefully by hand though the plaster and lath as well as the metal grating that was also behind the wall. Not an easy feat at all. He did it perfectly, they were was no cracking whatsoever, and the new box looks amazing. We was methodical in labeling the wires so when he was finished, it was easy to to remark all the connections. This company is a joy to deal with and they are reasonably priced and know what they are doing--take it from someone who gets very involved in the home repair and knows what's what! Thrilled to have found them.

I invited three electrical contractors to bid and I chose Fairway for these reasons: 1) highly rated on Angie's List; 2) close proximity to my residence; 3) price. Fairway was not the lowest bidder, but I felt his price was the most competitive based on scope of work. Paul, the owner, seems to prefer email over telephone and it took some persistence on my part to get this arranged. Anyway after some back and forth we finally got the date set. He told me the guys would be there between 7:30 - 8:00 a.m. on March 4. Indeed they rang my doorbell right at 7:30! In fact they told me they were in the parking lot at 7:15. How cool is that?! The pendants were installed quickly and efficiently. They carefully measured the area to ensure the lights were evenly spaced and got my okay every step of the way. They didn't have to cut the wall so everything was neat and clean. I love the lights. :) The bathroom switch was also easy although they did have to cut the wall. The switch is perfect , the wall is patched and everything back to normal. The guys were great. Some constructive feedback for Paul: 1) Email is fine, but when a customer asks for a phone call and provides a number, he should call and then follow up via email. He told me he emailed me, but I never got them. 2) When the work is completed, Paul should contact the customer, by phone, to ensure they are completely satisfied. Paul has not contacted me to follow up. I guess that's why Angie's List review is important!

Paul and his team are absolutely top notch. I initially contacted Paul two years ago after I purchased my home which was in need of a complete gut and interior remodel. Paul worked with me on small details and was very patient/helpful during the planning phase. His team, including Tommy, Jamie, Oscar and others worked hand in hand with my general contractor to implement a custom lighting package, kitchen installation and bathroom improvements. Fairway was fair and completed the job on time and on budget. When it came time to do exterior improvements last summer I didn't hesitate to call Paul to handle all of the electrical needs. In addition, his team has been great on minor service/small installation calls since the last significant renovation. Overall I would highly recommend Fairway.

On 1/8 it took technician 2 hours and $170 to understand problems. Told me the two parts I needed to secure for him to fix the pendant fixture and said Mr. Harris would provide an estimate. Having heard nothing by 1/20 I e-mailed Mr. Harris and he responded that he would "have pricing soon". It's 2/22 and still no response. I've never understood why someone just won't say I am too busy or I can't do the job rather than leaving potential customers hanging. A complete waste of $170.

We took a couple of hours to trouble shoot X-10 lighting control system. We also installed temporary switching. Your right I did not give it my best shot. Your X-10 lighting control system is no longer being made. I went to look for a replacement system. I did not get a response from my supplier , that day. That is when your job was covered by new work files. My apologies If you ever need service and I can help. Please take a additional 15% off your full service call. Also if we can pass on any information to your new installer. I will be happy to take the time. To forward what we learned Paul Harris 3108647171 or fairwayelectric@sbcglobal.net

Guys arrived on time and were extraordinarily professional. The job did take a few days to complete over a week period ( in half day increments). We were informed of this ahead of time. They were very busy but kind enough to squeeze us in. Communication did take prompting but as stated before they said they were slammed. We had a very specific "look" we were going for with the straight lines of the exposed conduit etc. and these guys nailed it. Thus far all electrical and lighting functions as it should. will hire again

We've been dealing with a landlord who will not fix electrical issues in our house. In order to make things as easy as possible, I started calling around to electricians to get estimates for the issues we have. Paul was referred to me by a contractor friend, and I feel lucky to have gotten in touch with him. After giving Paul the details, he spent a good long time explaining to me why I should NOT be doing to Landlord's dirty work, and gave me some tips on how to handle the situation. I ended up calling him back to chat more about the details of wording my requests to the landlord. I'm still dealing with the landlord issues, and hope I can just steer him to using Paul and Fairway Electric to do the work. But in the meantime, Paul is a super stand up guy, and I couldn't recommend him more to anybody looking for electrical help. He'll be the first call I make to fix electric issues in the future.

Initially, this TV install was to be done by Best Buy/Geek Squad. I did not want any cords to show on the wall. Last weekend, the Geek Squad arrived and I was very clear to say "no cables, cords, wires must show". So, I ended up with a cord coming out of the wall and being plugged into an existing outlet. He'd also removed 2 sections of plaster, leaving me with holes. He said he couldn't do the required electrical to fix it. In addition, the tattoos from head to toe made me very uncomfortable. In a panic, I checked Angies List and found Fairway Electric. Paul answered right away and was able to give me an appointment for the next Saturday (today). The electrician arrived on time, did the job I wanted and charged me a fair price. I am very, very pleased and will call him again for any electrical work I have.

I consider myself a handy person. I've replaced most of the old switches and outlets in our 1960s home, slowly but surely. If I ran into a problem, I'd do a Google search and usually an online video or a trip to the local hardware store would help me fix it. This time, however, things went very wrong and my paranoia of my house burning down got the best of me. I knew something wasn't right when I saw the wiring behind the old outlet I was going to replace. To make a long story short, I made some assumptions about white wires and black wires that maybe I shouldn't have and after my handy job, when I went to turn the circuit switch back on at the box, I saw a spark fly behind the panel (heard it too). I knew in an instant it was that blasted outlet. Nothing from that circuit worked anymore and I was in trouble because it powered my refrigerator! In a panic, I found Fairway through awesome Angie's List reviews and gave him a call. He didn't pick up the first time so I sent him an e-mail with a picture of what I had found behind the outlet before I replaced it (it was so unusual that I took a picture of it sensing that it would give me trouble and I'd have to tell someone about it). Right when I was about to press "send" Mr. Paul Harris called me back even though I hadn't left a message. Boy was I glad he did. He was patient, calm, and walked me through my problem. He reassured me that my house probably wasn't going to burn down because of my mistake. First off, he told me to plug my refrigerator into another working outlet with an extension cord to avert that issue (duh! I wasn't thinking straight and didn't even think of doing that). He referenced my e-mail and photo and explained what he thought the problem was and how I could probably fix it myself (which I eventually did - it was a super easy fix which I was able to do with his excellent help and advice). I can't say enough about how great it was to have Mr. Harris there in my "emergency." I think most vendors would prey upon my panic and charge and arm and a leg to get someone out to my house to do a 5 minute fix. I so value the kind of business Mr. Harris runs and his work ethic. I will definitely give him a call again for any electrical work we plan to do (and we are planning to - it's just a matter of time and $$). A+++++++!!

The original fixture which had been in place since the 1950's was very difficult to remove, and the size of the opening had to be slightly enlarged before the new fixture could be installed, necessitating the removal of lath and plaster. The journeyman who performed these jobs do so in a very workman-like manner to our complete satisfaction. I would not hesitate to recommend this firm for anyone needing the services of an electrician, and I intended to use them again when I replace other like-kind fixtures in this old house.

I called Mr. Harris to make an appointment to come to fix one of the lights of my chandelier that was not working. He just told me how to fix it over the phone, and walked me patiently through the steps. I fixed the chandelier myself with no cost at all, thanks to a very honest electrician, who could have easily charged me a $ 50.00 for a service call. I will be using Mr. Harris in the near future for a different project. Honesty is hard to find sometimes, so Mr. Harris is a breath of fresh air! Thank you!

Tommy installed new technology digital light switches that took a learning process then programming via phone with the manufacturer. Complicated, but he nailed it. The service went well. I have tried to use them 3 times between my home and business needs. The first time I called for my business, they asked me to follow up with details in an email and I never heard back from them. I used someone else on AL. The second time I was in a pinch, days before Thanksgiving the power went out along one main wall. I got quotes from a few people and Fairway was fair and had time. They did a great job fixing the problem in time right before a holiday weekend. I was so pleased. I needed them again at my business, the power was surging, blinking lights, etc. Very scary as we are a salon in an old house and the whole thing could burn down to the ground and we'd all be out of work. Again I called and again he asked me to email details. I did and he didn't call back to schedule, so I called him. He said he'd be in the neighborhood the next day and would "keep me posted". I stressed the importance of getting this fixed as our house was built in 1910 and our blowdryers use a ton of power, not to mention the x mas lights at this time of year. I never heard from him. The next day he called my front desk and said he'd stop by the next morning, but never did. Today I called and booked another appt with another AL providers. They will be here Friday morning. Thank God.

Well as far as this job goes. The business has had issues for a number of years. We have made many suggestions for the proper repair. For the demands of the, (Commercial Hairdryers) and the building wiring in general. We did go to the property and talked with a manger on duty. I only can assume the owner did not get the message correctly. The business would not allow us to turn the power off. They were just too busy for necessary repair. This was typical of the times on this property. Before this over the past few years always too busy. Never able to come in before 9am Witch only gave us 1 hour for repair. There are just too many outlets and the panel to service for a proper job to be done. For the safety needs of this building. Too our standards there is a large difference from making something work. Than repairing it right. This customer needs dedicated circuits for the hair station outlets. They have just unfortunately refused to make this improvement in the past . So they are filling that pain now. We can only complete the jobs as we are allowed. As always we will continue to give sound advice for the welfare of our customers. We always try to be there for our customers when in a pinch and do the right job. Somethings need to be done slowly and properly. So the problems don't keep happening. Just couldn't get that time here. They were always in a rush. I understand. There's a lot of good Angie's List Venders. Hope they find one. :-) If not i am always here. If there is time

What appeared to be a simple panel switch-out at the beginning dragged out an extra couple of weeks due to delays in getting the city inspection, and then a "Not Approved" sticker left by the inspector. It turns out that there were brand new regulations for this type of panel and requirements by the city that Paul was not aware of. Unfortunately, neither Paul nor his lead guy Jaime (who actually did the work on the panel) were present at the first inspection, and therefore the inspector could not explain the requirements in person. But Paul did follow up and investigate the new requirements and then make the subsequent adjustments. He was also present at the second city inspection, in which the panel was approved. Fairway's work is actually very good, they just lost a point on quality in my eyes for not being familiar with the latest requirements and not being there at the inspection to represent their work. However, this is the second time I have used Fairway and I wouldn't hesitate to use them again.

Wasn't sure if I wanted to buy a deal on Angie's list for without shopping around first, so decided I should call around first. These guys were at the top of the list when I searched on electrical. I called to see if they could fix a broken bathroom fan. Paul asked me to email him details and we were able to work out details, get an estimate, and schedule a time all over email, (which is great because there's an email chain to refer back to). Correspondence was easy and quick. They were prompt, efficient, and courteous - and big bonus - did the job for even cheaper than the estimate (and were way cheaper than the deal on AL)!!! Great company! Will definitely use again and highly recommend.

This was the 3rd project Paul did for me. Two years ago he changed my 150 AMP electric panel to one more appropriate for today's household electricity use. A year later he ran underground electricity to my back-house. This time he installed a 240 electric meter, ran the underground line and installed a 240 car charger for my Chevy Volt. Since this installation was done with a City of LA rebate it required several city inspectors to come out for approval. Paul's work always passed. When the last inspector marked by mistake "permit expired" instead of "final approved" Paul was there for me to get that corrected just before the rebate's cut off date. Look forward to do the next project with him.
