There was a delay in the original scheduled time due to another job he had, but one of his men was able to get to me early afternoon. Paul had promised to call me when he was on the way so that I wouldn't have to keep him waiting (or vise versa), but somehow this didn't happen and I got a call from the technician that he was already at my place. Luckily I don't live very far from the property and the technician assured me that he would wait, so it all turned out ok.
Both Paul and the technician were very easy to work with, very friendly and professional. He found the problem within a couple of minutes of entering the apartment, which was due to the GFI in the bathroom, which somehow had been tripped, which caused the kitchen to go out. The tenant said he didn't know that the bathroom outlet had been tripped, which would have saved me a service call. Unfortunately, since this had never happened before, I didn't know to check that before I called for service, so we had to pay for a full hour service just to reset the breaker, which is no one's fault really.
I am happy with the service and will use Fairway Electric again.
"When I met the customer on the phone he discussed a chandelier for his main entry proximally 22 feet up in the air said the fixture was not that large we got to the job site the fixture was over hundred pounds I needed to bring additional men and ladders I asked him please look you from the street to see where you might want the fixture hung up because it's critical to visual install Anyway when we got the job we hung the fixture the customer didn't like the position of the fixture based on his first request and we rehung the fixture for no additional charge and then about three days later I received a request to come back and Rehang the fixture 2 feet lower unfortunately I was exceptionally busy and I wasn't able to get out there the next day I gave the price to the customer and he wanted a lower lower lower because he Already had paid once yet it was still the same job I had to go out there and remove the fixture from the ceiling with three men tall ladders readjust the chain and rewire the feed and rehang the fixture and he wanted a break because he made a mistake the first two times it's funny how this turned into me doing a bad job"
I walked around the house while he was on the phone and he told me what to look for. Within 10 minutes we narrowed it down to one power outlet that got burnt out in the power surge. Paul told me it was easy to replace myself, but if I had any problems I could call him and he would walk me through that as well. After I went out and bought the outlet I called Paul and sure enough he guided me step by step over the phone and now I do not have any electrical issues. He saved us a lot of money and time without our appliances.
In this day in age where your average repair person wants to just make a buck off of you or worse rip you off, Paul was the exact opposite. I honestly have not experienced that level of service EVER. Thank you!
I don't know any electricians, so I used the Snapfix function in Angieslist app where you take a photo of what you need done, add a few notes and availability, and Angieslist sets you up with a provider. My first matched provider did not have availability in my timeframe, and Fairway Electric was the second provider they matched me with. I'm very happy with the service.
The project was to install an electrical outlet in my bathroom by the toilet seat so that we could plug in a Japanese-style toilet. The house is a newer 1995 construction but didn't have any nearby outlets within the bathroom. There was a nearby outlet on the other side of the wall in a bedroom.
Paul from Fairway Electric emailed me back right away after being matched, and we went back and forth via email about the details of the project, and questions he had about my project, access to my crawl space, location of nearby outlets, estimated cost, and timing/availability. I love emailing or texting with contractors because I'm super connected, but usually need some time to find out the answers to questions. Thumbs up!
Paul scheduled Jaime to come within a few days, bright and early, and Jaime arrived at 8am Monday. We walked him through everything, he even took a look at the voltage on the toilet to make sure that what he was installing would be sufficient, and he surveyed the situation. He warned us that he might need to cut through the drywall to access the electrical if it wasn't easily accessible within the walls, gave us the price, we agreed, and he went to work.
Luckily, he didn't have to punch through the walls, and by 9am our new outlet was installed, everything was cleaned up, and it looked like it was there all along. Jaime seemed very knowledgeable and personal, and we would definitely be happy to have him in our home again to do any electrical work. Thank you!!!!
I had to drive 45 miles in morning rush-hour traffic to meet the installer who was supposed to be at the location by 7:30 AM, but did not show up until after 10:00 AM. The work took 2 3/4 hours and the owner wanted to charge for almost 4 hours, based on the stated hourly rate of $85.00 per hour.
"Yes , I had a technician call out and needed to scramble a bit. But the job was completed. By the report it was not a poor install . Just a bit late and poor communication. To any and all my customers , This happens sometimes I am also in the field at times and I am sorry for that. Running service is not always easy. Like having to drive 45 minutes in traffic and then waiting . [removed personal info]"

We had two things to address: Outlets that were not functioning, and a backyard project that will need electricity.
So we bought Fairway's Angie's List Deal of $170 for Service Call and 2 Hours of Electrical Labor. We purchased the Deal on Saturday, and requested an appointment for Monday. Paul of Fairway was fully booked for Monday, but did pretty much everything he could to work around our complicated schedules (including possibly coming over almost instantly) and we set up for Wednesday.
Paul sent Hymie who inspected our sockets, determined the issue, and replaced the non-functioning outlets. Then he provided an estimate for work to be done at a later date.
The whole job cost $210, due to the parts (which were not covered in the Deal).
The work was done in less than an hour. So we really didn't have a good use of the Deal, overpaying for the time. We could have been smarter about getting the most out of the Deal, but Fairway did exactly what we needed and they could not have been more accommodating to our schedule.
"I don't believe you have called us back to try to help Wish you did. It's simple enough to come back and take a look at the problem I will always stand by our work. If it's a manufacturers defect I will always work with the labor charge as well It's about service and loyalty to the customer Paul S Harris 3108647171 [email protected]"
I called Paul on a Wednesday afternoon and by evening - he emailed that someone would be at my place at 7am the next day.
Oscar showed up on the dot at 7am (I'm not a morning person so was hoping he would be late. ha!)
Oscar looked at my kitchen fixture and determined it was the transformer - I've had two other electricians try to fix it and they thought it was the dimmer switch (which I've purchased twice!).
Anyway, Oscar had to run to another appt and said he would be back to install the fans - which I knew about upfront. Which gave me time to run and purchase the correct ballast.
He came back a few hours later and installed the ballast and both fans, he was very conscientious and neat and did not cut corners. I live in a condo and however the beams were running - installing the fan braces was a task!
He was a wiz at assembling the fan, very knowledgeable and didn't mind that I asked a ton of questions. He had great suggestions but always left the final decisions up to me. I'm a very Happy customer.
I highly recommend using this company for their prompt customer service, no hidden surprises, reasonable costs, friendly and knowledgeable techs. Ask for Oscar if your installing a fan!
