He came on time, took a bit longer than he said he would, but within reason. Didn't respond to subsequent problems at all.
Description of Work: We hired this guy to build and install a steel-frame wood gate across our driveway. He assured us that his "higher math" calculations guaranteed that it would not sag, shift, or fail to close/latch. All seemed to be as promised for ONE week, after which the weight of the gate caused it to sag and not open/close properly. He did come out and adjust it once, but the problem kept recurring. He promised a one-year guarantee. After months of repeated calls, he agreed to come out and put in a different type of hinge and/or latch, but said he needed more time to research available products. As the anniversary of installation loomed, he stopped returning our calls, and we were left unable to use our gate as promised. We eventually gave up on the contractor and ended up sawing off the latch with a hacksaw so we could at least open the gate, and with great difficulty and minimal competence I installed a wheel on the bottom of the gate to inhibit further sagging. Bottom line...caveat emptor!!! He talks himself up really well, but he doesn't follow through either in terms of skill or professionalism.

I would like other prospective customers to avoid the extremely bad experience I have had in repeatedly trying to get work done in Belmont by these people. I started trying to make arrangements to install a driveway automatic gate opener four months ago, eventually got several telephone promises from the owner to make estimates that then never happened (he had installed the automatic gate for the previous owners so he knew the job already). Finally after several more calls and two months, I was faxed a contract, which I signed and returned and followed up with a telephone confirmation and was told work would start "next Friday." Weeks again passed with no work, and when I called I was told the owner had "gone on vacation." A month later when I called yet again, "the guy who needs to do the work hurt his back and may be out for months";no idea when work could be done, no apology, no plans to even contact me, in spite of my signed contract. AVOID this very unprofessional company.
Description of Work: Installation of automatic gate opener in driveway, requiring cutting of driveway surface, installation of hardware, wiring, and driveway patch. Estimated cost of $900.
