+ -1 moreRobert was amazing... He was courteous, nice to my kids, and worked quickly. He was great to deal with. This was a hard job and it was almost all overhead/on ceiling. He worked tirelessly until the job was done. The drywall contractors who are following him were impressed by his work and wanted his contact information. He completed the entire job by himself and kept us informed about the job and how it was proceeding. I would definitely recommend him to anyone who needs wallpaper down in their home. He was also the best price out of the three contractors I received bids from. He was also the one who could start the soonest.

+ -1 moreI don't even know where to start with the rave review. From my first contact with Robert Harding, this was the most wonderful experience. I inherited my father's home, which was built in 1938 and my dad redecorated when he bought the house, in 1988. There was wallpaper in several rooms of the house. From our initial meeting to the completion of the job Robert was professional, helpful, polite, and a great communicator about what was going on. I have never witnessed the process of removing wallpaper, and let me tell you....it's hard work and a HUGE mess. Once you get the paper off there is still backing to get off the wall, and in my case, there were actually several layers which was unexpected, AND in the master bath they used some other sort of glue, that made the job even harder. Robert completed the job in the time frame promised, even though I know he had to work more hours than anticipated, to get it done. He did a magnificent job, and completely cleaned up after himself.....he even vacuumed every room he had been in. I can't recommend this company highly enough. Seriously great.
Description of Work: Wallpaper removal in several rooms of a house that was last decorated in 1988. In addition to the removal of the paper, the walls were completely cleaned and prepped for painting.

+ -1 moreI called Andy on 11/14/2013 and left a message. He returned my call right away, and we scheduled a time for an estimate. He clearly noted everything that they would do and gave me a reasonable estimate for completing the work. He gave me an idea of when he would be able to do the work and told me he would call me with a specific date. I was thrilled that he called and was able to schedule us for 11/25/2013 so that we could complete the work before the Thanksgiving weekend! Robert and Mitchell came out at exactly 7:30 a.m. as we had agreed. They were both very professional, courteous, efficient, and neat. They finished the work by about 11:30 a.m. The walls were free of wallpaper and glue, and my hardwood floors were dry and clean, something I was worried about. I was very pleased with the work performed and would not hesitate to call them if I need similar work done in the future!
Description of Work: They removed old wallpaper and glue from a long hallway, foyer, and small bathroom. They also removed glue residue to ready the walls for paint.

Told me he would call me on the Tuesday before installation to confirm appointment. He called on time. Danny arrived, a few minutes late, but called to let me know. Danny was neat, polite, compentent, sweet to my dogs and got the work done efficiently. Given the extra attention needed for grass cloth I was worried that bid was a fraction of what others, who weren't available,had extimated cost to be. My concerns was unnecessary. I am very pleased with the entire process.

+ -1 moreRobert, who removed the wallpaper, arrived on time as promised. After measuring both rooms, he informed me that it would cost slightly more than originally quoted but quite readily allowed me to use a discount coupon from the web site. When I went to check on the progress about an hour into the job, he told me there was an extra layer of paper so he would most likely be here longer than originally planned but that he'd keep me posted (which he did). Robert did an excellent job of removing the old paper and left the walls in good condition for painting. When I offered to pay for the extra work and time involved because of the additional layer, he wouldn't hear of it. The price quoted was the price I'd pay! (How many companies would do this, I ask you??). I am more than satisfied with this company; I am ecstatic! Both Andy (owner) and Robert (employee) are pleasant and professional. Their commitment to quality service is outstanding. I would definitely recommend this company with no reservations.

We used it getting 15% off the total cost. This job required a professional who could handle a difficult removal project. This job took about four hours to complete. We would definitely rehire Wallpaper Down in the future.

It is well worth the money to have professionals handle it. They sent two guys out and they took care of it in about 6 hours. They left the room neat and the walls were in great shape so that we could do the painting ourselves.

They had a guy come later and work later which was really nice. They were very professional, they do a graph plot, they know exactly how to do it, and they did it perfect. I think their price was very reasonable.
Description of Work: I used Van’s Wallcovering & Wallpaper Down. They came and wallpapered a bathroom, 4 walls. They also fixed a wall where a mirror had hung.

+ -1 moreAndy's crew arrived on time and worked the entire day. They were cordial, happy, and ready to get to work. No loud music, smoking, or sitting around. They worked a continuous 7.5 hours - If they took a break, I did see it. The foreman kept me informed periodically of their progress, and explained where they were having some of the expected difficulties due to poor preparation of the walls previous to the wallpapering years ago. They cleaned and washed everything, and picked up after themselves. They made it a painless experience for us. I would definitely use them again, and highly commend them for their professionalism, quality of work, and commitment to quality service.
Description of Work: We had a large master bedroom with vaulted ceilings and an attached dressing area with old wallpaper that had been painted over - very difficult to remove. Andy came out to look over the job for the estimate. He was cordial, efficient, and thorough - described the process they would use, where there may be difficulties, and gave a fair written estimate. After a second estimate was similar we decided to go with Andy, and he was able to fit the job in with the same week.

Description of Work: Wallpaper Removal was a two day job Monday 11/2012 & Tuesday 11/21/12 Andy from Wallpaper Down arrived on time the previous week and spent time explaining the process throughly and gave us an estimate that fit our budget perfectly. Andy is a true professional and never pressured us at all. Monday 11/20 we had the pleasure of meeting Danny Hernandez (who arrived on time) our wallpaper remover. The removal process was extremely difficult due to my use of various glues such as Super Glue when hanging wallpaper. Dannys wallpaper removal job was truly a nightmare to say the least. During the job we formed a friendship with Danny and look forward to his return for other future projects.. We really enjoyed having Danny here for the two days and higly recommed him to anyone. + -1 moreThe house was recently purchased with ugly wall paper in the kitchen, dining room, living room and hallways and two bathrooms. Andy came out gave a fair estimate and sent his worker who was on time and ready to rock and roll. Andy said it would take two days, but we got notice that we would have to serve on jury duty during the second day. No problem, Andy worked with us to re-schedule and the job was completed without a hitch. This company does not pour a stream of water on the walls and wet the floors and carpet. Instead they work in defined areas on the wall and the water is kept to a minumum. They cleaned up and bagged the paper, they were quiet--no need to have a radio blaring and they were polite. What more can you ask for. I'd hire them for any wall paper removal job.

Description of Work: This company removed wallpaper in four areas of a recently purchased home, 2 bathrooms; kitchen, living room, dining room, hallways. I learned about the company from a class I took on wallpapering several years ago. The teacher recommended that we not try to remove wallpaper, but call in a specialty company. I remembered the name because it was such an easy name to remember. I called the company, the response was within 24 hours. Set a date and the crew arrived ready to work. The job was completed in 2 days. Unfortunately, jury duty interupted having someone at the house to let the wallpaper specialist come in. The company was understanding and did not demand anything but a call to let us know when they could return. This is a comapny that removed the paper in small sections therefore there was not a ton of water dripping from the walls and ruining the floors and the walls were not soaking wet when they left. Do hire this companyDon't try to do it yourself when it is so easy to have someone do itThis company was great. This is a recently purchased home with super ugly wallpaper that had to be removed immediately. The crew came on the scheduled date. They worked quickly, queitly and neatly. The floors were not left wet. They bagged the trash and left nothing for me to clean. I would highly reccomend and certainly use Wallpaper Down again.
