THE SPRINKLER DOCTOR

Showed up on time and got right down to business. He was tolerant of the fact that I have no clue about the operations of my sprinkler system (my husband deals with it). He told me what needed to be done and did it. He is not the type of guy who is going to try to sell you stuff you don't need. I will definitely be using him again.

My sprinklers were constantly dribbling and the valves were making strange clicking noises. I called Neil on Monday morning, left message. He returned my call Monday afternoon, we discussed the problems I was having and he diagnosed it over the phone, he told me cost. The diagnosis and the estimate were exactly correct, he gave me the option of a new controller or a rebuilt one at about half the cost (which he warranteed for a year). I arranged for him to call my wife to set appointment. They made an appointment for Thursday (he could have come the next morning but we weren't available). He arrived right on time, did the work and wrote out a report regarding things I could do at a later date to improve the system. He was friendly, professional and punctual. I will use him when I get around to upgrading the system and I would highly reccommend him.

I have had the same sprinkler fixed twice. They came out a third time and I believe they have it fixed, though each time they come out it has costed me. I will call on them again in the future.

I had a good experience working with The Sprinkler Doctor. He came out right on time. He was responsive to my questions and concerns. He walked me through the entire system and offered some information and suggestions. He was very professional. The estimate came in a little bit high priced for me.

He was perfect and there weren't any problems. He was honest, fair, reasonable, competent, and did the work quickly. I would absolutely use him again.

Their serviceman came out on two different occasions. The last time he came out he repaired some sprinkler heads. He came out in a day or two after I called him. I am thinking about having some more work done this year and I will call them again.

Overall, it went very well. They were prompt and they got the work done very quickly. The workers were very kind and courteous. They were very clean and efficient.

Over the years, several gardeners had updated and installed sprinklers that ended up being wasteful or ineffective. The Sprinkler Doctor gave logical economic solutions, provided a fair estimate, arrived on time and completed all work. Finally, I'm not flooding the grass or drenching the hydrangeas! I'd definitely hire him again and again.

I took over my mom's house when she couldn't manage any more. The backyard watering system wasn't working. I called the Sprinkler Doctor, hoping he could hook it up or fix it, or tell me how, but he said it was bad and I needed a new one. He told me about some different options, different kinds of systems and different prices. I didn't really understand very well. He installed black plastic drip hoses in the potted plants, and black plastic sprinklers and hoses in the yard. I have not been very impressed with these sprinklers. They do work but they are flimsy. They stick into the ground and they sometimes fall over. They don't cover the whole area. If I had it to do again, I'd use something different. A different sprinkler guy came out another time when my front yard sprinklers weren't working automatically. He said the system in the backyard wasn't so good and wasn't what his company would've recommended. I'm not saying Sprinkler Doctor did bad work, and he gave me a choice of different options. I am new to the whole house thing. I lived in apartments before. I didn't understand the options. Not his fault. I'm just not happy with what I got and it cost a lot. I did not find the Sprinkler Doctor to be the friendliest service provider I ever had before. He did warn me that if my flimsy sprinklers I had him install ever had a problem, I would have to pay a service call fee for him to come out and fix it, or to add more sprinklers to it. I wasn't sure why he was telling me that, because I thought it ought to work well since it was brand new. The communication was a little off for me. The second sprinkler guy I worked with was easier for me to understand. I'm not saying this was Sprinkler Doctor's fault. It was probably my fault.

Because the service provider is based in the Valley, and we are over the hill in L.A. proper, I was advised that an hours time would be charged, to which I agreed. I have a front and back garden and many plants, and I wanted irrigation restored to as much as possible. They left without telling me which areas were not restored and there were many. I had to find out for myself, and of course could not have them again as their traveling time was far too expensive.

Explained that I didn't have a controller problems, just a few broken heads.

Great! I never did meet him - we did all of the planning by phone - and payment by mail. The service provided and professionalism were superior. Highly recommended!

I thought their pricing was very fair. But I thought it was a somewhat ok job. The sprinklers don't hit every where they should. I am going to call him back to see if he will fix it.

Excellent. Everything handled over the phone as the property was a rental and not near our residence. Returned calls promptly. No deposit asked and just billed when job done.

He described the necessary work and gave a very fair estimate. Actually stated the work was pretty simple and communicated that I can do it myself. He instructed me on how to make the repairs myself to save some money! Turns out he teaches a course at a local community college.

After getting a water heater installed, our sprinkler system stopped working, and the plumbers refused to come out and see if they had left something off. Frustrated, we called the Sprinkler Doctor. He didn't even need to come out! Over the phone he described the most common problems we might be having and their solutions, and said we could call him back to come out if we didn't find an answer. With his help we found the valve the plumbers had turned off and got our sprinklers working again right away. He could have charged us and come out and done this, but instead helped us for free over the phone. If we have any severe sprinkler problems in future, I will be calling him.

He was fantastic! Came out on a weekend, to take a look and give me an estimate on the repairs, I needed. Even gave me an estimate and offered to advise me on how to do it myself, but I opted to have him do it. Showed up on time, the day we agreed, that he would do the work and he got it done in half the time he thought he would need. Told me things to look out for, how long the repairs would last, and what to do, if I had any problems. Also, told me about a class he teaches on sprinkler repair and maintenance, at a local night college. Overall, a very good experience and well worth the money to get the job done. This guy is very good and very fair and a pleasure to work with. I will definitely hire him again, for any other work, I might need.

Excellent. His schedule is busy -always a good sign- and it may take a week for him to fit you in his schedule. We had a really good experience. He showed up on time, provided us with a fair estimate and performed the work the following week in a professional manner. He is thoroughly knowledgeable in his field and I would not hesitate to recommend him to anyone who wants a fair price and flawless work.

I called The Sprinkler Doctor to confirm he serviced my area, he said he couldn't get out and to call in three weeks to see if he could get out.

The Sprinkler Doctor came to my house but his truck wouldn't make it up my steep hill. I drove down to the bottom and picked him up. He looked at my system, diagnosed the problem and didn't charge me a penny. He said if I wanted him to come back he would bring a smaller truck. Only bummer was it took a week to get him to come out as he is so busy. He needs to hire more help.

I called The Sprinkler Doctor because my gardener could not get my automatic timer to work, and I couldn't get my automatic timer to work. My gardener said he thought I needed a new automatic timer (although the one I have is less than a year old). The Sprinkler Doctor came over to give me an estimate when I was at work. Without charge, he fixed the problem and it has worked ever since. Most amazing (based on my experience with workers before I found Angie's List), is the fact that I told him I needed a new timer, and he told me the truth - I didn't. I will not only use him should the need arise, but I highly recommend him.

Great- always happy to find someone who'd prefer to give you useful advice than take a job just for the money. Very ethical. Would hire him for a big job in the future.

MY OVERALL EXPERIENCE WITH SPRINKLER DR. WAS POSITIVE. THEY CAME OUT TO MY HOUSE WHEN THEY SAID THEY WOULD AND COMPLETED THE REPAIRS QUICKLY.
