The woman who booked the appointment was very friendly and flexible. I appreciate that she promptly responded to email throughout our job planning and was willing to change my appointment time and accommodate my request to have the crew call me before arrival so I could quickly drive home to meet them instead of waiting 1/2 day for them to show up. The crew showed up on time (even early which was OK), we turned on the system and they started to adjust things, but had some "trouble". The head guy spoke to the crew in Spanish, so I have no idea what they were talking about during the attempt to adjust the heads. It became immediately clear that the head guy was only there to convince me that my sprinkler system was crap and that I needed to start over and buy professional expensive parts. I explained that as a new homeowner, I was updating an existing system that had problems. He never smiled, but he laughed at my Lowe's purchased motorized sprinkler heads, and told me never to buy irrigation systems at home improvement stores because they don't last. Instead of helping me adjust my three $9 heads to cover my small front yard and the drip system in my flower beds, he told me to buy new ones that cost $60-$70 each. I laughed and said no thanks, I'm not a golf course, then signed his paperwork and said adios. Myself, my family and many neighbors have used these types of sprinkler heads for years. He said he would email or call me with the name of their preferred sprinkler brand, just for my own interest, but he never did. What could have been a pleasant experience that could have led to me hiring them for other work, or even recommend them to friends and neighbors, immediately became an exercise in "how fast can I get rid of this rude guy so I can do it myself". I'm just glad my wife wasn't the one to meet them while I was at work, because who knows what they would have tried to sell her. This "Big Deal" was clearly a loss-leader for G&L, but ultimately the loss was theirs. I gave them an overall rating of "C" instead of "B" because the woman who booked the appointment was very friendly and professional, unlike the guy who came to do the work. **UPDATE** I finally figured out how to edit my review- I changed my last statement because I had intended to type "B", but had accidentally typed "D" originally. My apologies to G&L. However, their response to my review mischaracterizes the discussion we had originally. I did not install class 200, I was replacing it from the previous owner, and I told the guy to ignore that zone as it was still being updated. The problems we had were with the new schedule 40 zone and the new sprinkler heads. I still disagree that a small residential home needs a $60-70 per head professional system, but perhaps you are used to working with wealthier clients. Sorry that things didn't work out.

It was all done very quickly and efficiently. The architect came to my house to survey the land and emailed me her design within the week. I then scheduled the installation of the plants and it was done shortly there after.

I was very happy with my experience with G&L. They scheduled an appointment promptly after I first contacted them, they showed up on time, and they performed the work as agreed. They repaired some leaks in our sprinkler lines. A few days later I noticed that we had a new leak; I called them back and they came out and fixed that leak without any additional charge.

Bought an Angie's big deal promo for a sprinkler repair and tune up for 65 dollars marked down from 125. They were able to come by within days of my purchase and arrived on time. After looking at the system, they said it would be an extra 250 dollars to repair broken heads. I asked if he would take the 65 dollars I already paid out of the 275 and he told he had brought two guys and an extra 275 was fair. Overall I think I probably would have paid 275 for the replacement and service without even buying the coupon so that was money wasted. The system does work well but they forgot to set the current correct date and time on the timer and that took some investigating to figure out what was wrong.

I responded to an Angie's List special deal that offered a sprinkler inspection for $59. I knew I had water leaking from one of the sprinklers, and water had been pooling up beside my house for several weeks. G&L owner Dror Skolnick arrived on time with two guys to do the inspection. As I thought, there was a pipe leaking. In the front yard and the back yard, Dror showed me some electrical wires for the automatic sprinkler system that were exposed. To replace the leaking pipe and cover the exposed wires, it was 150. I thought that was a reasonable price. They fixed everything. They were very professional and knew what they were doing. I will definitely use G&L in the future if I ever have any more sprinkler issues.

They were prompt. That's huge when most service windows are 4-8 hours, these guys were there right when they said they'd be. They got right to work. They quickly analyzed my irrigation and marked several ares that needed to be addressed: a leak in a drip line, broken sprinkler heads, misaligned heads, and something else... What really took them above and beyond for me was that the identified a puddle that formed near my patio. They at first thought it was a capped line that was leaking, but after an impressing 45 degree angle dig, they discovered a sprinkler head that had simply been buried and paved over when my contractors built my patio. They were able to extend and then cap the line.

They were supposed to give me an estimate for the job and I have not received it yet. They told me that I needed to have a valve replaced. They were only here for about half an hour.

I wasn’t too impressed with them. I paid $59 for the tune-up and another $110 for the replacement. Some of the heads didn’t work. They never really got them going quite right. They gave a song and dance about why they weren’t working. They said there wasn’t enough pressure, but I knew that they worked right at one time with the same pressure line.

They were really responsive. They rearrange their schedule to accommodate my needs. They referred someone that was qualified and a good service provider to take care of some other problems.

They did OK. They spent a lot of time telling me that my pipes were old and my controller was old. He did fix the two broken pipes.

As soon as I requested a scheduled appointment...Sharon immediately sent me an email to see when we were available at our convenience--I responded, and we got the whole thing rolling for that week. These guys are great, professional, regularly follow up, and always on time. I also found them honest and they do not try to pressure you in some high sales pitch to do a project. They mentioned to me that some parts will have to be fixed eventually of which I would like to but it was not necessary to rush...just let them know when we're ready. Overall, I really like working with Sharon and Dee plus their group of fine workers...they all knew what they were doing and you can be sure that I will use them in the future for some other possible landscaping projects.

The only amount that I’ve spent was actually on the coupon itself. For the coupon you basically get design recommendations. We are very pleased with the work they have done so far, that is providing us with the design. I would use their services again in the future.

From the time I met with Dee, to the time the job was complete, I never had anything to worry about. The design was perfect and what surprised me most was Dee's knowledge in designing and planting the hill behind my house. I didn't realize when they removed all the current landscape, that the hill was going to need to be supported until the new plants were able to take root. Not to worry, Dee already had it covered (literally, with a net :) The house looked phenomenal and I am certain that Dee's landscape and hardscape design played a big role in helping me to obtain a buyer for the new home. I would highly recommend this company and look forward to doing business with them for many years to come. I found G&L in Smart Saver magazine and decided to call them. i like the way they handled me on the phone, they sounded very professional and caring. the owner come to see the yard and the work that needed and gave me a bid. i was happy with the price and felt that i was in good and honest hands so i decided to let them do the job. when i saw the designer plans i was so excited and i could picture how my yard will look at the end. they took me to the nursery many times to see and choose the plants i like and always showed me samples of materials and made sure that i agree and happy before making final decision. it all came to the end and my front and back yard looks amazing! . G&L provides me with the yard maintenance once a week and keep it like new.. i highly recommend them and trust them with all my hart.
