Ervin did an excellent job, arriving on time, keeping in frequent communication and completing the work on schedule. He is extremely knowledgeable about California native plants and planned a beautiful garden for me. When the planting and irrigation system were completed, he gave me complete instructions on the care of my new plants. Everyone who walks past my house is very impressed with the yard. Ervin is highly professional and it has been a great pleasure to get to know him. I highly recommend his company.

We had different expectation for the deal. He wasn't interested in coming to our home more than once and giving us different options. My wife and I felt that we needed to speak to him face-to-face. So we have decided not to use the deal.

Ervin is very reliable, professional, friendly, and obviously knows his trade well. He maintains excellent communication while explaining job details and offering options. He is conscientious of our drought and seeks solutions for using the lowest volume of water.

I specifically wanted flowering native plants, no rocks/gravel, etc. And that is indeed what I got. I've never dealt with a contractor who was as professional, detailed, and always on time (I know I read that in previous comments--but it is so unusual that I had to add to that.) He spent a lot of time working with me and sending me photos of each plant and working out the drip configuration for each area, and provided me with explicit instructions for watering for the first couple of weeks. Fortunately the rain began a few days later so I haven't had to water them at all yet. My friends and family are also very complimentary. I have my own little park in the front yard now.

It was good. They came and checked everything and scheduled to come again to fix the things.

They did a good job. I purchased a new house so I did not know anything about the lawn and sprinklers so they came and checked everything.

My neighbor and I met with Ervin on two occasions to discuss the irrigation system at our small townhouse complex. We ended up deferring the work on the system due to the cost of some urgent roof repairs that needed our attention instead, but I still wanted to provide a review because Ervin spent a lot of time with us and came out to the property two times on two different Saturdays at no cost to us. He provided some good information and was clear regarding his next steps and proposed ideas for fixing the system. I also really appreciated that he showed up early for both appointments and was extremely responsive via text and email. I would likely contact him again should the HOA need gardening or irrigation services in the future.

He came to give me an estimate and then wouldn't give me an estimate, he gave me a price range of 5-7k and when I asked for him to please write me out a real estimate said, "email me" ..... It was impossible to pin him down to anything. I told him exactly what I needed done but he wouldn't commit to anything.

Distinctive Landscaping/Ervin Ramirez is incredibly straightforward, communicative and reliable. All work has been done on a timely basis, at the price quoted, and with good communication. We receive weekly emails detailing exactly what is going on, with diagrams and photos as needed to explain matters. We cannot possible recommend this company more.

it went as planned I guess I didn't like the fact that his first estimate was 50% of the real amount he told me after he analysed the system. I found him very expensive without seeing a real value. Basically here you will be paying to get a quote for a service. I don't find this needed.

Ervin is excellent at getting back to you and answering questions, as well as keeping you posted on his status and the progress of the job. I would hire him back in a second, but I'll probably never have to!

It went great! Ervin knows a lot about landscaping and was very helpful in his recommendations for types of sprinkler heads and placement of sprinklers, types of plants, types of bark, etc. He also readily accommodated our changes to plans as work was being done. He diligently worked every day and paid great attention to all the details. He even found and coordinated with the plumber to fix some copper piping. He was very professional and friendly. He kept us up to date every step of the way and promptly responded to all my emails. His work was great and his price was very fair for such professional service. Definitely would use again in the future.

Overall good but felt that the estimate was very high. Comparative estimates were lower and less extensive work was needed.

Ervin walked into a bad situation (poor guy). We had been hoodwinked by another landscaping contractor who created many issues in our backyard. THANKFULLY, ERVIN WAS AWESOME! He first suggested immediate changes to our sprinkler system that would "save" the grass the last contractor had installed, which they did! Sadly, because of the poor initial irrigation work done by the other contractor, there were parts of the lawn that simply couldn't be saved - and because that (bad) contractor had not treated our new soil before installing the sod, we had weeds throughout our lawn. Ervin did such a great job of doing what he could to SAVE our backyard, that we asked him to do ALL the work and make recommendations that would give us the backyard we wanted in the first place. He was thorough, transparent and a GREAT communicator, patiently walking us through our options and listening to what we wanted to achieve. Ervin takes PRIDE in his work and throughout his project with us, he was in DAILY communication with us, sending daily wrap-up emails, answering our questions and anticipating needs. I would HIGHLY RECOMMEND Ervin to anyone looking for someone honest and hard-working, who will listen to what you want and DO what they say they're going to do - and most importantly, stand behind their own work. Ervin was early, prepared and expedient without sacrificing any quality checks or assurances. He knew exactly what to do and just took care of business. He was done with the entire project in a little over an hour - which was the time estimate he'd gven me over the phone. And when you call his number - he asnwers it! He was an absolute pro and a pleasure to deal with. I'd work with him again in a minute and wouldn't hesitate to recommend him to others.

It turned out great. He provided a full report on what needed to be done. Scheduling was pretty quick after I bought the big deal too.

Mr Erwiin Ramirez and his assistant responded to our request for an assessment of our irrigation needs. The assessment/estimate was $75. The two men were punctual, arriving even a few minutes early, and conducted a very thorough assessment--taking pictures and notes. We were charged an additional $30 due to the size of the job. The additional cost was objectionable since we were not told up front that additional estimate charges were a possibility. However, all in all, we were impressed with their professionalism. About 3 days later, we received, via email, a detailed nine-page report with color pictures, indicating the recommended work. The job was separated into zones, and materials and labor were estimated according to those zones. This detailed, professional report gave us confidence that the work to be done, even though costly, would perhaps be equally thorough and professional. We were not disappointed! W.e signed the agreement and scheduled the job for the following Friday and Saturday. Once again, Mr. Ramirez and his assistant were punctual. They completely updated our sprinkler system--installing new materials where warranted--and with very little damage to existing vegetation. The work was completed to our satisfaction early Saturday afternoon, and a tour, explanation and instructions were given regarding aftercare and maintenance. Th final check was $1330. It was definitely a job well-done, and bottom line, builds our confidence in Angie's List. Thank you, Angie's List, and "kudos" to Distinctive Landscaping!!!

Ervin was on time! Always like it when a service provider is on time. I received a thorough estimate and knew exactly what work was going to be done. Ervin got the work done quickly and cleaned up after himself. I am very pleased.

He was awesome, excellent, and happy with that one. I contacted him on Saturday and he showed up on Monday I think it was. He was super responsive for his service and I cannot complain. I sell a little bit higher than what you get in the area but the service goes a long with it and totally worth it. It was earlier September. I only used them for just about a month. They charged me $150 a month. He put up my backyard, and recently give a report of Fernan for a full irrigation check like on your first service. Need recommendations as to let me irrigate the sprinkler system, he deals a separate quote to that. We like very dependable basically whatever I was think for which I got quote for that and did a quote for just a few days. And call us up immediately.

He drew a diagram of the property, evaluated all parts of the sprinkler system and then, on his weekend, wrote an elaborate report explaining all the problems and options. For this I only paid $75!!! Now I do apparently need a TON of work, which will be very expensive, but I learned a lot that I didn't know before, e.g., I am very water-conscious and learned that I have been wasting water for years, and allowing my patio to disintegrate from mold caused by poor sprinkler placement. He was wonderful, efficient, professional and responsive.

You simply can't find a better sprinkler system person in LA. Ervin returned my call right away, asked all of the relevant questions, emailed me an estimate and scope of work (SOW), showed up on-time and worked through a huge heat wave to accomplish each item on the SOW beyond our expectations. I've already asked Ervin to help us with Phase II and I can't wait to get started. The work that he has done will pay for itself in 12 months by saving us so much money on our water bill.
