BDS Solar

Description of Work: AS the solar panel installer, BDS arranged for me to lease solar panels. Over a period of about 6 months, 2 leasing companies fell through. When I was asked by BDS to sign with the third leasing company I began to feel uneasy about the arrangement, and tried to get out of the contract. Unhappily, I did not realize that initially I had signed two contracts - one with BDS and one with the leasing company. Although BDS hadn't begun to install the solar panels, they had drawn the plans and gotten permits. We disagreed about who was responsible for those costs. Therefore, after visiting small claims court, I ended up paying over $2000 for the the plans and permit work that BDS had done already. |In the course of this experience I learned that if a homeowner leases solar panels, they do not have control over which Solar Panel manufacturer is used - that is the leasing company's choice. Therefore, if the solar manufacturer is important to the | homeowner, they should carefully verify the leasing company's manufacturer or purchase the panels outright. |Due to the 6 month delay, a certain amount of discourtesy during the ensuing discussions, and the fact that in the end I realized I would have preferred a different solar manufacturer ( I could not afford to purchase panels outright - BDS would have installed them if I could have purchased them) I decided not to continue working with BDS. |As far as the plans themselves and permit applications are concerned, they were |done professionally and well by BDS.
