November, the start of the rainy season, is the worst possible time of year to prune plum trees, and a knowledgeable, ethical arborist would have advised to wait till after the rains to avoid the fungal pathogen that causes silver leaf disease. This company only cared about getting a contract, and provided no professional advice whatsoever as to what's healthy for trees. Hiring Timberland is merely hiring chain saw operators and wood chippers. After they hacked all the healthy lower branches off the Sycamores (not for horticultural need, but per their contract, they said), I prevented them from the inadvisable pruning of the plum tree, but they charged my landlord anyway.
