They were well worth the money.

Jill was fun to work with and gave me honest, helpful advice. She was relaxed during our consultation, and even though we spent quite some time together, she tells me I have more minutes for my money. What a deal!

I would us them again in the future.

I met with Jill through after purchasing a special deal for Angie's List members. She was not the first architect/designer I met with on my prospective projects, but she by far had the best ideas. My home has what many might call a "challenging" (read: non-sensical) floor plan. We have one area in particular many have struggled with to reconfigure and provide the privacy we desire with the limited amount of space we have. By the middle of our consultation Jill had come up with the most out of the box yet entirely functional solution that met most all of our needs. I was really amazed! Jill was professional and courteous during our meeting. She arrived on time, patiently listened to my ideas (some of which were not as heavily grounded in reality as I believed), and was very comfortable and easy to work with. Most importantly, she understood my budget in relation to my overall goals and was quick to identify areas which may be better served with my limited funds. In short, Jill just "get's it". I really felt like we received a lot of "bang for our buck" during our consultation. Her rates are beyond competitive, she is creative, and experienced. I wholeheartedly recommend her services.

This was a great experience. Jill's consultation was extremely helpful in developing design ideas for my projects. She took time to listen to me and tailored her advice to my preferences. Her advice was very practical, focusing not only on design but also on how to plan and manage the work. She had several creative and useful suggestions for space planning, function, construction details, material selection and color selection. We covered several topics in the alloted time and I came away with some really great concepts that have helped me focus my ideas for the remodeling. I would highly recommend her work to others. The 3 hour consultation is a great value for someone who is just beginning a remodeling project and needs some help to get started.

Jill really was excellent at helping me focus on being clear about what I was trying to achieve. For example, I had it in my head that I wanted skylights in my living room because it's the darkest room in the house, and I loved the way the skylight in my kitchen opened the whole room up. With Jill's very patient guidance, I realized that I could achieve what I REALLY wanted - which was more light - by installing recessed zoned lighting. Using her knowledge of architecture and design know-how, she helped me visualize all of the potential issues the installation of skylights could bring - leaks, roof damage, big weird tunnels in my living room ceiling - and understand that my overall goal of creating more light could be achieved in a much more economical and practical way. Jill spent 3+ hours helping me put together my list of design "to-do's". She made sure we covered everything that I was having trouble visualizing, and much more. She was super-patient and really good about making sure I understood options and outcomes. I would definitely work with Jill again, and I have already recommended her to others who are contemplating remodel jobs.

The project was a total success! It turned out exactly as I envisioned it. At the initial meeting Jill gave me a questionnaire to fill out to help understand my likes and dislikes when it comes to style, colors, etc. I had some pictures of rooms that I liked and we went over that together. She asked about my budget and timeline. After the first meeting she came back with a number of suggestions for styles, colors, fixtures, and so on. Then she provided me with three color boards with specs for shower and floor tile and color schemes. She provided alternate paint color recommendations to the three schemes when my husband asked for lighter colors. She kept in touch throughout the project. She provided suggestions on hiring contractors and making sure the work was performed correctly. She is very friendly and approachable. She arrived on time for appointments and provide documents when requested. She kept be appraised of her fees throughout the project. I would definitely hire Tangerine Design for a similar type of project.

They charge $95 per hour. They were just fine. They were somebody that I would be willing to hire. We've just had our first consultation.

I worked with nine contractors to complete the renovation of our complete house exterior. Jill was by far the most professional one and had the most integrity. Her suggestions were specific and helped us get the most impact for our budget. The overall vision was hers and we are delighted with it. She was flexible in her work style and incredibly responsive. She continued to provided us with advice as we recieved bids on the project which later proved invaluable. When the we realized that there were many additional requirements to the permit process that we had not anticipated, she quickly provided the extra drawings and revisions required. I very much appreciated how she always strove to keep her time and costs efficient for us. We did not actually require an architect for this project, and I consider myself extremely fortunate to have found Tangerine Design through Angie's List. If I ever need any design work in the future, she will be my first choice. My only regret is that it has been raining for the past month and we have not been able to paint the house. I was holding off uploading our before and after pictures but felt that I really needed to put my recommendation and feedback for Tangerine Design before much longer. I will update photos once the project is complete.

The design was very nice and they did a good job. We were pleased with them.

I decided to act as my own general contractor (and "designer") for what I thought was going to be a simple kitchen remodel. Quickly, as the walls came tumbling down (quite literally) due to dry rot and a whole host of other unanticipated surprises, it became very clear that my "contractor" and I were not going to be able to solve some key design issues (wall configurations) with our back-of-the-envelope approach. Once all the wall studs were exposed, we learned that the only way we could capture some very valuable space under a stairwell that came partially into the kitchen, was to build a soffit. Given the kitchen cabinets, appliances and space that we had to work with, we could not figure out how to do this. I was really anxious and concerned. My experience with architects and designers led me to believe that I wouldn't be able to find a consultant who would be willing to step into a remodel-in-progress and get involved in someone else's work. I found Jill through research on the Internet. I could not have been more pleased and relieved with her attitude, ability and service. She was friendly, professional and able to offer a solution very quickly. Within a couple of days, she had drawn up some guidelines for the contractor so there wouldn't be any misunderstanding. The way the soffit fits into the kitchen looks like it was an intended design element, not something that we had to do to accommodate the problem we had found. In addition, she threw out a few other design thoughts that I incorporated into the overall project.
