I was able to speak directly with Ertan and arrange a time to meet him that was very convenient to me by working me into his schedule.

Ertan was fantastic from the start. He responded to my inquiry promptly and provided an estimate that same day. Once we agreed on a start day, he showed up on time and was very professional. He was very knowledgeable about my old (1922) house and working with the electrical system. He and his crew cleaned up and were very thorough. Ertan actually completed the job before some other companies returned my calls.

I called Mr. Ertan and explained the problem. After a few questions he told me that he was very busy and that it might take up to two weeks to see me. I was in no hurry and told him that was fine. He took my phone number and told me if he could get to me sooner he would. Three days later around 1:00 pm Mr. Ertan called and asked if I still needed his assistance. At this time he gave me a quote over the phone and asked me when It would be most convenient for me to have him come over. I explained to him I would be in the rest of the day so he could take his time and come over at his convenience. About two and a half hours later he arrived and within about 20 minutes was done.

Ertan quickly responded to my request for an estimate. I had several small jobs that were left unfinished by the original subcontractor. He estimated each job separately and was happy to just finish those jobs I could afford. I will contact him again when I'm ready for the others. He came on time, was very efficient and everything was cleaned up when he left. I feel that he is very honest, fair priced, and reliable.

We live in an older San Francisco home built in 1936. The wiring is knob and tube and there have been various modifications over the years. I enjoy doing minor repairs and work on my home, but because of the age of the home and the type of wiring, I wanted someone with real experience to install several new light fixtures we had purchased. Magnolia Electric did a great job. After calling, they came by the next day to give us an estimate and the work was completed the following day. Every fixture installed was a challenge, I am very glad I did not try to tackle this myself. The service of Magnolia Electric was very professional, friendly and competent.

The guy totally mis-installed everything. He never came back to get his money. He was a nice guy but something happened and he went AWOL and we never saw him again, not even for his money.

It went very well. I called the company at 8:00 am and the electrician said he would be at the house by this afternoon but would call me first to give me one hour's notice. He called at 11:30 am and arrived at 12:30 pm. He was friendly, professional, and very competent.

We found Ertan on Angie's List and called him for an estimate. He responded immediately, gave us a reasonable quote and started the work very soon thereafter. He has come in and out over a period of several months as the project moved along. All of the work that he has done has been excellent, and he is a pleasure to work with.

Ertan came over to our new apartment promptly after we called and gave us an estimate along with some helpful advice on how best to install the wall outlet. He also located his recommended outlet box on our computer, explained how it could be installed and volunteered to pick one up for us before doing the work. Ertan also brought along the two new smoke detectors that we needed to have installed. Due to our cyclical schedule in renovating the apartment, we were not able to schedule Ertan's work for several more weeks but he was able to accommodate us on just a few days notice when we were ready. He arrived right on time with one helper and proceeded to complete the work in a few hours without any problems. He also gave us some advice on a good local store where we could locate electrical parts on our own in the future. Ertan was friendly and courteous throughout the project and did an excellent overall job. I would have Ertan do any electrical work that might need to be done in the future.

Ertan responded quickly to my request for an estimate. He pulled the permit and quickly began the work. He is professional and friendly - a real pleasure to have around. He didn't hesitate to volunteer with other aspects of the project, such as cleaning up the mess left by other contractors. He scheduled the rough inspection and waited for the inspector outside. We passed with no issues. Same thing for the final inspection - in both cases, Ertan handled all aspects of the permit process. This job couldn't have gone more smoothly. I strongly recommend Ertan, and I'll certainly use him again when the kitchen gets remodeled.

He never showed for the job. I didn't try to call him to see where he was, I am just going to move on to the next person on my list. He never tried to call me either.

Ertan Ataly was great. He came on time to give us an estimate. He took care of the electrical issues we had, was on time and the cost was fair. He even responded a week later when I was out of town and my wife's disposal jammed (she thought it may have been the electrical outlet. It wasn't). We would highly recommend him!

My 1940's Sunset District house had never had the lighting updated; additionally, the lighting in the garage was obviously done by a prior homeowner and the lighting was inadequate, inefficient, and of dubious compliance with codes. Additionally, cable company installed its cable for television and internet access by drilling holes in the hardwood floors. Ertan came by to look at the project and I was impressed by his knowledge, professionalism, and warm courtesy. His estimate was a little higher than others, but I was confident that his focus was on doing the job correctly and to my satisfaction, not on completing the job in a hurry. He sent me his estimate by email, and was able to begin the job within the next week. His work was outstanding. In order to create the new electrical outlets in the kitchen, bath, and bedrooms he had to cut the kitchen and bath tiles, and cut holes in the walls in order to run the wiring. His work was amazing; not a single kitchen or bath tile was cracked or broken, and the holes in the walls were patched to perfection. At the end of each work day Ertan and his assistant would clean, vacuum, and sweep their work area and leave the house clean. The garage lighting was a challenge and Ertan developed an excellent solution to move the switch to a more accessible location and to fully illuminate the three main areas of the garage. He also discovered that some of the prior wiring done by a homeowner, was unsafe (hot wires), and he removed that work at no charge. Ertan took care of the securing all permits, and advised me of the date and time of the inspection. The inspector approved the electrical work on his first visit. The last day Ertan was here he worked in the garage, and I did not check it out until after he left. Imagine my surprise to see that he had swept the garage, tidied up some items I had on the floor, and neatly stacked other things I had downstairs. Needless to say, I am more than pleased with his work.

Mr. Atalay came by for an estimate at a time that was very convenient for me. He sent me the estimate via e-mail, and I contacted him later to schedule the work. He was able to schedule the work to be done soon after that. Since this was during a remodel part of the area to be wired was exposed, while part was covered in drywall. They had to make some holes in the drywall, but they kept and numbered the pieces they cut out so that I could patch them easily (they also offered to patch the walls themselves, but I said I could do it). The work was done well and on time; Ertan brought in a 2nd man to help so he could finish in less than one day, which was a help since I had to stay home from work while the work was being done.

We obtained three estimates for the work. Magnolia's pricing was not the least expensive, but their work came highly recommended via the List. We had an issue getting the estimate it was forgotten and never sent but after a reminder we received the estimate quickly. The company with the lower estimate left us with the feeling that they'd take shortcuts in some areas of our installation. In contrast, Ertan gave smart suggestions to solve problems. He never took shortcuts or shied away from a tricky part of the job. After starting the work, Ertan noticed some wiring that the previous owners had installed was not up to code. In order to make sure the final inspection went smoothly, he fixed the additional problems at no extra cost. The work was done efficiently and he had some great suggestions for us. Ertan is very pleasant, conscientious, and he really knows his stuff. The inspection went very smoothly. We are very happy with the work and would hire Ertan again.

I hired Magnolia Electric, after reviewing the estimates from three electricians rated highly on Angie's List. Ertan was on time, thorough, cost conscious, and very pleasant to work with. I believe I received a fair price and great quality. I would not hesitate to recommend him.

He solved problems that other service providers weren't able to solve. The final price came in under his bid.
