Magic Moving should be the ONLY company anyone should ever use!! Nothing else Needs to be said, but I will share my experience. I also rarely if ever write reviews but I was so blown away by this company I feel I must share my experience! I found these guys online and as a frugal shopper they were certainly not the cheapest however they were so knowledgeable and polite on the phone I continued to ask questions. I also thought that her follow up and courtesy calls two days before the move was especially professional! They obviously care about their customers! The moving crew was just plain awesome!! very careful, very professional. they put blankets around and covered wrapped everything!! All of my stuff arrived in great condition and they were very courteous to carefully place things promptly where I wanted them. I had some last minute packing i did not finish but the crew quickly helped me with no problem! Steve and his team were VERY experienced and friendly. In closing, company is very well managed and a delight to work with!! Thank you again Magic for making my moving experience a positive enjoyable one.! I Will definitely refer you guys and use you again in the future!!

Took longer than estimated, so the cost rose from $2500 to $3300 (OT rates applied). Workers were very attentive.

It was great! they were really good, very efficient and showed up on time. They had plenty of crewmen here to help get it done quickly. The move was only about 8 miles but they got it done very fast!

SIMPLY AMAZING! I began my search for the best moving company almost a month in advance of my move from Pittsburg, CA to Albuquerque, NM. No doubt I found the best service at Magic Moving & Storage! I can speak from experience since I have moved almost ten times including two overseas transfers. I have never had such professional, careful, conscientious & experienced movers. Everyone throughout the company was knowledgeable, well-trained and very friendly. They were uniformed, clean, neat and did not complain once. I was blown away on how they wrapped & handled my 7 foot antique armour which is very sentimental and precious to me. They were also very helpful in packing my TV's, lamps and pictures. They were on time & kept in contact with me along the way which I consider not only professional but very courteous. They did an excellent job of blanket wrapping my furniture and protecting my floors, doors & home. There were no issues, damage, or hic-cups. Just a delight to work with! I will recommend Magic Moving & Storage to everyone I know. Highly HIGHLY recommend using them. Thanks for a great job MAGIC.

The move went great. There was a four man crew and they were outstanding. They took care of moving a number of items that I didn't expect, like packing the clothes in my closet, a grandfather clock, and all the patio furniture. Their attitude was extremely positive and relayed the message that their job was to make things easier for us - which they did. Moving is stressful but these movers helped relieve a lot of that stress. I would highly recommend this service.

I engaged Magic Moving last year when I bought a home. We used them to move us and to store our household goods in their warehouse during closing. The only thing magical about these people was their ability to drain my checking account. When they completed loading the van and it was time to pay, I used my debit card. The total exceeded my bank’s daily debit card limit. As a result I had to go to the nearest branch to withdraw cash to pay them. The trip took about forty-five minutes. When I returned, the foreman had added $170 for the time he had to wait. The move had already exceeded their estimate and this additional expense was totally unexpected. After a month in storage, the same men delivered our furnishing to the new house. We heard a cracking sound when they brought the sofa in. They claimed that the arm was already loose and refused to accept responsibility for the damage. Several lamps were damaged. A porcelain vase was broken. Our favorite Archer lamp was damaged beyond repair and had to be discarded. The labeling of boxes could have been more descriptive. Practically everything was labeled “décor”. Over a period of days (and weeks) as we unpacked boxes, we discovered broken glassware. Our barbecue grilled looked as if it had been stored on its end. Parts were bent. The lid was dented and misaligned and has not worked properly since the move. They moved and stored items that had been set aside to be discarded. We’d set the cat carrier aside and told them not to pack it but they did. This action resulted in a frantic search for a pet store still open that evening to buy a new carrier. To add insult to injury, we had to complete a survey about our moving experience before they left. I felt intimidated As we still needed to use them for storing our furniture, we were not forthcoming about the way we actually felt about their services. I am doing that now. I do NOT recommend Magic Moving & Storage. I would give the a C- if I could. Probably the only positive aspect of the move was that they were punctual and the young men who actually did the work were pleasant, energetic and polite.

We were very disappointed that they were not prepared for our move. We had to wait 3-4 hours for the driver to leave the job and go get necessary materials to complete our job. I job that should of been done within the time frame was not done until hours into the evening. The worst part was we will billed extra because of their miscommunication and not having the necessary tools to complete our job. The movers themselves were great but as a whole not impressed

There were four people packing, and one was not very careful with our kids poster sized drawings (he folded them and crammed them into a box when they should have been protected as fragile). Everything in the kitchen was apparently vases since almost all the boxes were generically labeled as such (ironically a box with actual vases was not labeled as vases). Overall, they were nice and hard working.

It went well. The only thing was that some of the book shelf's little thing you put in the holes to hold the shelves in place I did not get back. It might have fallen somewhere or they have forgotten to hand it back to me. Also some boxes where placed in front of electrical outlets covering them out from view. So that in cases where I don't need to unpack the box yet but needed to use an electrical outlet, I have to move the heavy box first before I can use the electrical outlet.

The crew was amazing. They were friendly, patient and helpful. They were focussed on the job and wasted no time. They listened to all my directions and excecuted the tasks up to perfection.

AWESOME EXPERIENCE!!! This company is on the ball. We had a horrific and hectic week but, these movers made a stressful experience enjoyable. They arrived early, in clean uniform, well-groomed, and started immediately; no horsing around. What was even more impressive was their handling and protecting of our possessions and our home. They used floor protectors on our hard wood floors, thick blankets on all of our furniture, doors, and stairs. They won me over with how they moved our 7' armoir down difficult stairs while taking extra precautions not to damage, scratch, or hinder our home or the armoire. AMAZING! Professional, careful, friendly, and experienced that are worth every penny! The office reps were also great. They were very helpful, considerate, and thorough! I highly recommend using Magic Moving. I Hired Magic Moving to move from Palo Alto to Pinole. Awesome experience, very professional, fast and friendly. I have no complaints whatsoever. Movers were clean, fast and careful with my belongings. They arrived early, UNIFORMED and got right to work. They were superfast while wrapping everything with protective moving blankets, packed up my TV’s, mirrors, lamps and beds since I had to be placed into storage for a few weeks. When movers delivered my stuff out of storage, not a scratch or scrape on anything; put together my beds, cabinets, TV’s and placed everything where I wanted. Extremely accommodating and polite. Office staff very very polite and delivered on everything they promised! Well worth the price, I highly recommend them!!

I cannot rave enough about Magic Moving! From start to finish nothing but professionial, friendly people. Very easy to deal with, movers were helpful and worked quickly! Assisted me in putting some of my very personal, delicate things in the car. They packed the tv's and put plastic wrap around my recliner and sofas. They did an excellent job of blanket wrapping EVERYTHING and protecting our home. Price was more than fair and I even tipped the movers. Amazing service, will definitely use again! I highly recommend Magic Moving and Storage.

Words are not enough! This company is absolutely the best! We have moved all over the world and we've never experienced such conscientious, hard-working, careful and enthusiastic movers as we did with Magic Moving! They came in got right to work placing floor protection, blankets on doors, wrapping furniture, packing tv's and very quickly emptied our home. 4 bedrooms, garage and patio and we were on our way to the new house by the afternoon! Everyone was polite and took time to reassemble hutches hutches, tv's, beds, and tables. Movers carried things to and from our cars, and always making sure to put things where we wanted. My piano (my baby) was wrapped and treated like porcelain! The office staff was very helpful in planning and answering all our questions. I can't say enough good things about Magic Moving---just AWESOME! If you're planning a move these should be the ONLY people you call, HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!

It went smoothly. None of my stuff was damaged but I took care of the packing ahead of time. They showed up on time and I would recommend them to others.

They arrived on time as promised. The were quick, but careful, professional and Very knowledgeable about what they needed to do. No damage to any of our belongings and completed the job to our satisfaction.

They were professional, fantastic, fast, and efficient.

Moving in no way is fun but magic moving actually made it ENJOYABLE ! One of my family member's used magic moving and we've used them twice. One moving from Kansas to the bay area and the most recent within the east bay. They always used such good care and lots of packing paper and blankets to protect my furnishings, taking care of everyday dishes to my grandmothers antiques like it was there own. They were so fast & efficient ! The movers are friendly and even laughing along they way, taking the stress out of my day. You can tell they really enjoy there job. The office staff, sales team and movers are very Professional, Knowledgeable and Helpful. Both of my moves as well as my family members move went excellent with no problems, well worth the price. I would HIGHLY recommend them.

KUDOS to the Magic team! Everyone was just AWESOME, driver Shawn, the movers and office ladies! We were referred to Magic Moving from a friend of ours and they well exceeded our high expectations. Moving long distance from San Francisco 3 bedroom house to Atlanta, Ga took some planning but Nancy was great in helping us get ready. Movers were best I've ever seen and we have moved ALOT! They packed over 150 boxes, labeled contents and what room in I day! Just incredible! We had flights of stairs and steep hill in San Fran but the movers wrapped, plastic wrapped, covered and got everything loaded in the truck carefully in 1 day. We have a couple of expensive pieces of furniture to include a full gym but it was no problem for these guys. We were very impressed at how they didn't stop, kept smiling and care given to our move! Shawn was right on top of the movers and the most professional, experienced driver we've met yet! He kept in touch with us along the way and was right on time in Atlanta. On delivery they set up beds, gym equipment, bookcases and anything else we asked. They helped with unpacking and took away the boxes and packing paper; a BIG help! Not one thing damaged, very professional and most friendly. Was with out exception the best move ever, and worth every penny! I will and have already referred Magic Moving to family and friends. We appreciate all the hard work people, Thanks again!

Unfortunately, this move turned into a typical bad experience normal when you have to deal with a local agent for an otherwise highly regarded long distance company. Red Ball by itself was a 5 stare outfit and went to great lengths to make the rest of the move work out good. But we ended up paying an additional $1000 due to Magic charging for unloading at their site as part of a "local" move at overtime rates for 4 hours before they unloaded anything. We initially filled out a request for a quote from Magic, and received a quote from Red Ball that including an amount for Magic. We subsequently discussed the Magic part with them directly. At no time was it mentioned that there would be a major item in the form of unloading charges at their warehouse as part of the quote. They showed up early on the move day, and things seemed to be going pretty good the rest of the morning. However, after a short break for lunch, things seemed to slow down significantly in the afternoon. Since we were working with a flat 8 hour minimum charge, I got concerned that we were running short on time and expressed that to the apparent boss. He said we were not running out of time and not to worry. Near the end of the 8 hours, they started dumping remaining unpacked things together in a few large boxes (we had packed over 90% of the non furniture items), which caused some minor damage which we have not bothered claiming. Then came the surprise. Before they left, they called in to their office, and then presented the result to us. The billing was for about $2900 versus the estimate for their services of $1500. This included a few hundred for some additional packing materials, but the major item was almost $1000 for local unloading back at their yard. This was also at overtime rates. This amount had to be paid before they left. We subsequently challenged this, especially as the unloading based on 4 flat hours seemed very arbitrary. The Red Ball crew who unloaded us felt to simply move it off the truck would have been 1 1/2 hours and no more that 2. Also, they thought that Magic may have used warehouse unloaders who would not necessarily been at overtime rates. Magic subsequently gave a credit of $200, abut that was only about 20% of the surprise. Bottom line was that if we were facing charges for service as if we were doing a complete local move with them, this should have been laid out at the beginning - plus the 4 flat hours billed before they actually did anything was excessive as well as the overtime rates. At the other end, there were no surprises from Red Ball - even as putting some of the furniture back together took some extra time. We actually worked together in figuring them out and putting them together - with high fives all around as we finished up. Wished somehow they had done both ends of the move.

OUTSTANDING! I checked out several moving companies on the Internet and found Magic to be the most informative and responsive. When I called their office the sales reps asked a series a questions and I felt comfortable that they were on top of it. I scheduled the move right then and there. My suspicions were correct that they are a great company since they gave me a courtesy call a few days in advance. They showed up early in front of our house and got right to work. The movers were great, very experienced and fast. They pack up our entire house in one day and completely loaded everything by 4pm the next day. They were exceptional in being careful in every way. They rapped literally everything to protect our belongings from getting scratched or damaged. They kept in touch with us along the way and upon delivery courtious and careful once again. They put everything where we wanted in each room and put together the beds and even our gym equipment. Everything arrived in good order, no problems whatsoever. I have nothing but great things to say about this company! I strongly recommend using Magic Moving and Storage.

I can not enough say enough GREAT things about Magic Moving! The sales people were honest, genuine, and informative they had a lot of great tips on how to get organized and save money for my move. The packers and moving crew were early and did not wast time getting to work. They were careful with my items and used a lot of packing paper to cushion my fragile items. They used thick moving blankets to cover all heavy furniture, including my brand new sofa which they also covered in plastic wrap. They labeled all my boxes and made it especially easy to unpack at my new home. The move went very smoothy, scheduling on time, and kept me informed though out the whole process. We were all impressed on how everyone at Magic Moving was friendly, experienced, and professional. I highly recomend using them!

I hired Magic Moving for a local move to storage and a long distance move from storage to Oregon. The local move went fine. The long distance move, however, was an absolute nightmare. I called the office several weeks in advance of my close of escrow to book a delivery date. Despite multiple phone calls and emails, I did not receive a 100% confirmed move date until almost TWO months after my initial request and just five days before the actual delivery! During my initial conversations with the scheduler, I explained that my house was on a very narrow street and expressed my concern that there wasn't enough room for a large truck. The scheduler told me "not to worry about it" and that "the guys would figure it out." On the day of delivery, I reminded the scheduler of my narrow street and, to my dismay, she suggested that I meet their driver at the local U-Haul location to help him choose an appropriate delivery truck. Sure enough, an hour after their scheduled arrival time, I received a call from the driver asking me to do just that. I drove over and provided the best advice I could despite the fact that they had several weeks to figure out the best sized truck on their own. The driver and his crew arrived at my home around 3:30 in the afternoon - already half a day late. As I walked over to introduce myself to the crew, one of the guys got out of his truck, extinguished his cigarette on the ground, threw the butt into my neighbor's recycling can, and then announced he would not be staying for the entire move because he had already been waiting for the driver for five hours. That's when I learned that Magic Moving does not provide their own employees for long distance moves, but instead hires subcontractors whom they do not personally vet. The subs stayed true to their word...they walked off the job halfway through, but not before damaging several of my belongings as a result of their carelessness. (I realized later that I was even "given" two additional items from someone else's delivery.) After another couple hours' delay, the driver returned with a new crew who did not finish unloading until 11:00 PM that evening. My heart went out to the driver...he did the best he could despite his office's poor planning and scheduling and the crew walk-off. After such a long and frustrating day, he had the good sense not to ask me to fill out a customer satisfaction form or do a walk-through. (Yes, I signed the 10+ page inventory checklist based on his assurance that everything had been delivered. After a 15+ hour day, I was not up to counting boxes or verifying that all my items had been delivered undamaged.) I filed a claim with Magic Moving for my damaged and missing items along with a request to provide coverage on top of their basic insurance (just 60 cents per pound of damaged goods) given the horrible experience. It has been over a month since filing my claim and, once again after reaching out multiple times, I have received no word regarding status other than my claim is under review and they will "try to expedite." I'm also quite surprised they have made no effort to pick-up and return the items that do not belong to me. Given I paid over $15k for the two moves, over $1k in extra temporary housing while waiting for a delivery date, and ended up with approximately $2k in damaged and missing items that were packed by Magic Moving, not only was this experience an absolute nightmare, it's been an incredibly expensive nightmare. I was willing to pay a premium for quality service. What I got was not worth the price. It remains to be seen whether or not Magic Moving honors my claim. Update: After posting my review on Angie's list, I finally received a response from Magic Moving regarding my claim. They paid for just one third of the damages caused by their subcontractors. I think it is very telling that instead of accepting responsibility for their customers' poor experiences, they choose to personally attack and insult the integrity of those who share negative reviews on Angie's list. I think their false and misleading response to my negative review perfectly illustrates their true underlying values and the type of treatment customers can expect to receive when things don't go well. I know and they know that everything I stated in my review is accurate. Shame on them for their lack of integrity and honesty.
