 + 0 moreWe originally contacted Joe Aspatore to provide an estimate for painting our kitchen cabinets. We had just purchased a condo in Lafayette and were unfamiliar with contractors in this area which is why we consulted Angie's list. Joe was very prompt in responding to our request for an estimate and we decided to not only have him refinish the kitchen cabinets but to also do some interior painting for us. Joe was truly exceptional in many ways. We live primarily in Florida (Lafayette is our second home) and having Joe perform this work while we were living and working in Florida was a bit tricky. But he made this process extremely smooth and easy for us. He kept us updated on every stage of the process by sending pictures to us as they progressed. It was clear from the pictures that Joe was meticulous about protecting our furniture and floors while they performed this work. Joe also provided invaluable advice and consultation to us about various issues that popped up during the project. I can't recommend Joe enough. He's very talented and extremely dedicated to doing a great job for his clients.

Description of Work: Good quality work. Price was a bit high, but I wanted someone who could do the painting and drywall in one go. Crew was very friendly and unobtrusive and clearly took pride in their work. Only complaint is that Joe himself was unpleasant to work with. There were a few "miscommunications." From my point of view, I told him I wanted a smooth finish and he did a textured finish. Then, when I picked the yellow paint for the walls, he painted the ceiling yellow too which looked really odd. In both situations, he became unprofessionally angry and antagonistic, making it clear to me that I was in the wrong and he couldn't fix it despite my offer to pay to correct the texture, then he went ahead and fixed both things! It was just an odd interaction. It is a shame, because even though the quality of the work is good, I will not be inviting him back.

 + -1 moreI chose them because I got an estimate from them. They did not have the lowest estimate, but by far, they seemed to know that they were talking about, and they did it. It was great. What stood out for me is that Joel Aspatore, the owner, has been in the business for many years. He actually used to do basement works as well which means he really knows materials and ceilings. He is just very knowledgeable about surfaces, paints, colors, and everything. He is very meticulous and very picky. His team is small, but they are equally competent. So, everything about it stood out as stewardship of quality.

Description of Work: I used Joe and his Team to texture and finish the ceilings after abatement in addition to painting my entire 2 bedroom condo - wall and ceilings. Joe's was not the absolute lowest estimate I received, but was honest in explaining how his estimate was built, the work to be performed, the guarantees, etc. He is extremely knowledgeable about both the painting and drywall fields and also has a keen sense of color and texture which I found to be very helpful. He was incredibly responsive to all of my communications and especially fast with email exchanges, which he prefers. His entire team was professional, courteous and skilled. He made special efforts to accommodate my tight schedule as I had a "move-in" deadline that could not be modified. He and his Team performed the work on time and with extremely high quality. I could not be more pleased with the results. Joe also helped support me in rectifying some problems with abatement work I had done and had his Team step in and redo/complete the necessary work before they textured, finished and painted. I have already used him again for repainting a large entertainment cabinet that I have in my new living room. His honesty, integrity, punctuality and notably high quality make me recommend Joe and his Team without reservation for any of your drywall or painting needs.

 + -1 moreJ.P. Aspatore painted the exterior of our house, and did a TERRIFIC job. So professional. We had the house painted not very long ago, and the painters did such a bad job, the paint job started breaking down almost immediately. In contrast, Joe knew exactly what had gone wrong, and fixed the issues. The house was carefully prepped for painting, the areas of dry rot fixed, a nice protective base coat was put on, and the paint job was perfect. We have lots of nooks and crannies so this wasn't an easy job. But they took the time to do it right. At first they thought it would take two weeks--it took three, but they didn't cut corners. Joe and Mark worked to get it done right. They knew the best quality paints as well. We love the work they did. We recommend them 100%. They are true professionals. Lots of people can paint, but if you want someone who knows what they are doing, is professional and responsible, knows wood and paint, this is the company to go with. The value of your house depends on someone who knows the business. We can't say enough about them. We hope to be loyal customers in the years ahead. Thanks so much Joe and Mark, we appreciate it!
