The crew arrived promptly and did the initial installation quickly and professionally. They have been responsive to requests for follow-up service and we are pleased with the system.

Description of Work: I called to see if I could decrease my security costs and the salesman was very honest with me. He explained that changing companies would not be cost effective for my particular situation. He did not make a sale, but I wanetd to review the company for its honesty in quoting cost. I would trust this company for my future business due to this fact.

The installation was about $1500 and the service from then on has been $37 a month. I have no complaints at all. They were fine. The technicians who came out were very nice and very professional. We would be using their services in the future too.
Description of Work: We had an alarm system installed by Denalect Alarm about three weeks ago.

While other companies are trying to sell me products I do NOT need (free wireless alarm system that will talk to me), Rodney (sales) at Denalect spent a good deal of time with me to understand what I currently have and to explain what Denalect has to offer. Rather than trying to sell me a new wireless system, he said "I don't want to turn away business, but unless you have a rodent problem I advise staying with your wired system. This is a large investment, you don't need to worry about replacing batteries.....". He also provided sound advice that had no bearing on my decision regarding my current company - "The most important thing when choosing an alarm company is to not choose one that just offers proprietary panels because you will be stuck with them and their service prices". During my conversation with Rodney, I came to understand that my current company has done a good job; however, they are located further away from my home than I would like. I may well make the change for ongoing monitoring and future service to have the confidence that even Denalect's sales people provide accurate and unbiased information. This is an update: I have selected Denelect and they have installed contacts on my new windows and doors. Rodney worked with my window contractor to coodinate the work so that my warranty would be maintained and the window installer would leave wires ready for reconnection. Furthermore, Rodney warned me about a practice that some alarm company follow to keep business. They put a "lockout code" on your panel. This prevents another company from being able to reprogram. If you don't take care of this, a new company will arrive and not be able to do the work. Sure enough my company had a lockout code on my panel and they wanted to charge me a service call ($100+) to take it off. I own my system and had been paying them monitoring fees for 15 years. The customer service manager claimed "We are not locking you out, we are locking other companies out." I explained to her that if I can not use my property the way I want, they are essentially locking me out!" Based on information from Denelect and internet research, I found that this is one of the biggest complaints customers have (right after the proprietary panel). I was able to respond to the claim that "all companies do this" and threaten to take them to small claims court as well as posting a report on Angies List about their service. After two heated phone calls, they called me back and offered to remove the lockout code at no charge. In addition to Rodney (sales), the scheduler and the installers were also very helpful. Since my job was not the standard installation, I had questions and wanted the system to work the way it had previously which required programming that was a little bit different from the standard settings that Denelect generally uses, e.g., amount of time to exit and enter, warning beeps, etc. Whereas the original company left visible marks on my windows (without asking) showing where the "open setting was", the Denelect installer discussed where/how to indicate this. A final plus - the cost of my monthly monitoring is lower than it was. I would continue to recommend Denelect Alarm to my friends.
Description of Work: At this point, I am replacing doors and windows and need to decide whether to continue with my current alarm company. I am shopping around. I am I have not made a decision yet as to whether to make the change but if I were just starting out I would go with Denalect, no question. I am updating this report now that I have selected Denelect and they have connected contacts on my new windows and doors.
