Description of Work: I purchased a "Kozy Heat" gas fireplace insert from them. Buck Stove removed and disposed of my old Buck woodburning fireplace-insert stove at no cost, prior to installing the new gas unit. The gas unit that the salesperson (Paul) recommended based on my room size is perfect for the heat requirements of that room. Installer was highly professional, cordial, and had great expertise. Per the plan, there had to be a 2-step install, because one custom-cut piece of equipment could not be accurately sized until the base stove unit had been placed in my actual fireplace. Both install steps went very smoothly; installer was prompt, worked very efficiently, and took care to not soil or damage anything else in the living room, which was quite a feat given the weight and bulkiness of that old stove. Installer also did a couple of add-on tasks (e.g., re-positioning and securing my old chimney cap alongside the new gas flue cap, so that no critters could get into the chimney) cheerfully, willingly, and at no additional cost. We're very happy with our new gas fireplace insert.

Description of Work: I had them install a gas fireplace about 1 year ago but when I have tried to get help with a problem they are totally unresponsive. I finally reached someone on the phone once and he told me that he wouldn't be able to help me for 2 wks or more and would call me back. He never did. I have emailed and called twice since then with no response.

Description of Work: Installed a fireplace insert (with gas logs that are remotely controllable for flame height, heat exchanger fan speed, room temp. control., etc )in an existing fireplace that had only inefficient on/off logs. Two young men who obviously knew what they were doing got the job done quickly and efficiently. It's not cheap, but I believe it'll pay off soon in convenience and heating efficiency.

 + -1 moreI would not use them again. We had a delivery date and date of installation set up. When the delivery date came I called and made sure they would be installing. They told me it was back ordered for three weeks. I thought that was unprofessional. I feel like they should have contacted me to let me know this. I didn't feel they coordinated well with the contractor or with me. I had to have a second installer come out because of a problem. It did not turn out to be their problem but the first installer did not explain the system well.

 + -1 moreMy major problem is that I think they have a scam going on their installation. The stove was to be installed into a fireplace. The sales person said a hole needed to be bored through the side of the fireplace before their installation to connect the gas. When the installers came they said I was not meeting code because I did not have rigid galvanized piping inserted into the hole (I had installed a flex pipe). I told them that this had never been mentioned to me. The installers said that they could not put the pipe in; they didn't even have any pipe on their truck. After much discussion they said they would go to the hardware store and get the piece of pipe and install it, but I had to get approval from their head of installation back at the office. They spoke with him, I spoke with him and told him that I should not have to pay as I was not informed of the requirement. He insisted that it would take them 2 to 3 extra hours to install the pipe, and that I needed to pay an extra $300. We went around and around and I finally agreed to pay $100, just so I could get it resolved. As soon as I got off the phone I went down to talk with the installers. They were already installing the pipe which they "happened to find on the truck" - a piece of galvanized pipe of the exact length required, rather strange. The installation of the galvanized pipe took 20 to 30 minutes.
