I’m happy to modify a previous review to express my satisfaction with Sherlock Heating and Air. My wife and I have counted on Sherlock Heating and Air to address our HVAC needs for nearly 6 years now. We happily referred them to friends and family for HVAC needs throughout that time. Our first review is a testament to that. Recently we noticed one of our HVAC units was not blowing as cold as we remembered. We arranged for a service visit and received some unpleasant news about the condition of the condenser coils. After a second visit from one of Sherlocks customer care representatives, my wife and I decided to pause for a bit to understand exactly what the issue was and to be sure we knew all of the options. Given that the news was unexpected, we hadn’t assembled or thought of all the questions that began to arise afterwards, however we were presented with a fair amount of detail and some options for repair during the consultation. Shortly thereafter we reached out to Sherlock Heating and Air once again and after some dialogue with the helpful front office we received an email from Aaron Sherlock, the owner of the company, expressing concern about our situation. He offered to take time out of his schedule to personally talk to us and even visit our home to discuss concerns. This was very genuine as I ended up personally talking to him for quite a bit on the phone which helped me understand exactly what the source of concerns were, and clarified a way forward for my wife and I. Real, personal interaction from a corporation seems to be less common these days. Having an owner directly contact you is exceptional. I value the time the Sherlock team took to address our concerns. We learned quite a bit and wish more companies provided post-sales and service support the way they did.

Excellent communication with pictures of gas heating system in attic made it clear what options for improvement we wanted to have performed. We were pleased that we corrected defective flue pipes, a key point in the inspection. The blower fins needed to be taken out to be cleaned. We chose to do this, but the results went beyond a preventive step with the resultant quietness. We were impressed enough with the service to request that Sherlock install an air scrubber system, an important add on to help my spouse’s asthma. Everything was completed during the one visit. We were impressed by the professionalism of Eric Murillo and results and will use Sherlock in the future.

The process went well overall. The only glitch was that the installation crew (not just one person) called in sick Monday morning after MLK day. Maybe they got the flu or something. Sherlock managed to get another crew to the house at 1pm, which still gave it a 5-hour late start. Once they got there, the work was done carefully and professionally, including negative pressurization to make sure none of the asbestos got loose while the old ducts were removed and packaged up for hazmat. The work was completed properly, there were *no* issues with inspections, I had access to a lot of help and advice from Sherlock, and I feel comfortable with the process and the results. They seem to go the extra mile to support their customer set. And of course, the replacement furnace works perfectly. Mom is happy with it.

Jared performed a comprehensive check of the furnace and related systems. He offered several recommendations for enhancements for me to consider. Overall, a very professional level of service with which I am very happy.

The sales rep/technician did a very good job of explaining what work needed to be done and working with me to "fine tune" the details. The installation team did an excellent job. They were professional, knowledgeable and friendly. Their work was very well done and they cleaned up thoroughly after completing the full day installation. I was very pleased with the entire process. I would highly recommend Sherlock for heating and cooling work.

It did not go well in the beginning. Jake arrived timely and was extremely nice and pleasant. When Jake began the inspection, something happened to our electronic thermostat and it stopped working. He began calling people as he could not locate the problem. He arrived closed to 11:30 and it was 3:45 when the last of the three people here left. It was complicated but apparently the Lennox thermostat overheated trying to restart itself and had to be placed. Since it was only 3 1/2 years old, in the beginning I was very skeptical, but Daniel explained the problem so we were OK. Eric did a great job of installing the new one and helping us get it all set back up on our wifi network and it is working well now.

We previously hired another contractor, that diagnosed that the compressor was bad. He said better to replace the whole heat pump based on age. Sherlock came and determined it was an electrical issue and did the repair work. Price varied based on the length of warranty and the level of repair. We went with the longest warranty and most in-depth repair, to include a follow up visit in a year. Only issue is that the company so backed up because of the heat, it took awhile to get to us, but worth the wait.

Great job all around. Price better than two competitors.

We have had many technicians come to make interim repairs to our system and recently an engineer was able to assess the reason why our system was not operating properly. We are hoping that this is the final time that anybody will have to come to check it out. Along the way, Sherlock Heating and Air has been receptive to our concerns and has always tried to resolve the problem.

While this was just a routine maintenance, Christine and Jake were amazing! So professional and wonderful. They were sweet and engaging when my kids kept asking questions and telling them stories. They were always careful to not track in any dirt into my house. They were right on time, respectful of my house and things, and worked quickly. From the get go Sherlock has been amazing. In every aspect. I've had the pleasure of meeting quite a few of the employees over the process of getting new A/C installed, and every single one was professional, genuine, friendly, and knowledgeable. I'm so glad we went with Sherlock!

Sherlock installed a Mini-split A/C in my home in May 2017 (dual zone). The workers worked hard all day for 2 days; everything works well; no problems so far. I live in a condo community where homes are very close together or attached, so I wanted something very quiet. The outside A/C unit is so quiet, it can not even be heard more than 3-4 feet away. The inside units are very quiet also.

Submitted appt request online, was contacted by office within the hour, work completed the next day through my home warranty. Superb!!

Knowledgeable and Courteous repairman. Explained the parts needed, the warranty, and the installation. Also answered other questions on cooling. He diagnosed the problem right away and worked in 100 degree sun. Very happy to be cool again.

Sherlock is good. They've done a good job. Air conditioning particularly. That's really the only thing I've used them for. I don't remember how much it was. It wasn't a lot. It was a routine amount.

They did a very professional removal and installation. They were very responsive to any questions which I had. The job was completed quickly and on schedule, but they took enough time to do the job righy.

I think I got them off of Angie’s List. Actually, I’m on a service with them now, so I have them twice a year. I pay it monthly off of my credit card for the service, I think it’s about $30 a month. I pay the service, but I don’t have to pay when they come out to do my tune ups and stuff like that.

The cheapest package they offered was $11,000 in change. The most expensive package they offered, which was a fully loaded system, like top of the line machinery like air filters, humidifier. Basically, stuff that you would put into a house that was worth the factor of 10 more than what our house is. That was about $22,000 even. I would recommend work from Sherlock. They seemed like they had their sh*t together basically. They were clean, below drama, one or two follow up calls just to see if they were still in the running or to see if you’re still interested in the work. Standard sells process, nothing offensive, nothing bad. The Sherlock guy was my favorite character of a lot of guys that came over. If I was going to requote all that work today I would probably go to Sherlock first, because they were the most willing to work with me to like to knock the price down to a lower value. He told me everything that I needed. He told be basically what all the low-cost handyman level work was. Like drilling holes in stucco to grout pipes and line sets, what size conduit they needed to do the electrical. Which I already knew, but he confirmed. He said, “this is what our insulate standards are, this is the kind of air conditioning disconnect box that we use, that kind of stuff. So, I can go in and do a lot of the work that didn’t require like the EPA license and the state license myself to try to get the labor rate down to a more reasonable target. They were also willing to work with me on doing stuff like if I wanted to put in a mini split in the garage. As long as it was installed in the house, they were willing to do the commissioning for a chart for a reasonably fee on the equipment. They were going to check it out, sign it off and view the actual bring up on the machinery. Sherlock would probably be my first choice. They’re a straight “A” player all around. Out of all the deals that I had received, Sherlock’s deal was the best package given. My unique set of skills, given that I had a lot of the equipment to just do a lot of the install, it was just that I needed to have someone who had the EPA licensing. They had the best packaging. At a certain point to where I don’t really want to deal with shipping a super furnace into my house. I already have enough things to trip over, let’s not add an enormous furnace to the problem. I think they had to best that would draw kind of a shape that represents every, the total deal. They had the best-looking shape. There’s a vastly more accurate way to describe that, but it escapes me at this moment. I definitely think they are the top on my list of people that I would call back first. For someone who is DIY inclined person, they had the deal and the best sort of set up to meet in the middle to get the work done. I have only gotten a quote from them, I have never seen any of the work that they have done in person.

I ended up not using them. They were glad to come out. I think their price was pretty comparable to what I ultimately paid, except for I got 10% back. I think it was a private label furnace whereas I got a Lenox thru the company that I ultimately used. They were quick in coming out, looking at the place and giving me the options. They were very thorough in going over the options and making sure all of my questions were addressed. They were very good.

It went okay. It was expensive. They were good. I'm less likely to use them because of the cost. There were two people. They came out twice and each time took an hour. They left the area perfectly clean.

They were incredible from the selling through installation. But dropped the ball constantly upon having it inspected and passed off. They didn't drop off a ladder for the inspector, then they did and it didn't pass. Then didn't drop the ladder before the inspector came again and he had to come again and again. This final step was so ridiculous that I simply cannot recommend them.

It went very well they worked on it for a long time to make sure is was done write.

There were a lot of problems with the unit, but they came through and totally fixed all the issues. Sometimes things go wrong and you're left hanging, but they came through and fixed everything. We got it zoned so we can do upstairs, downstairs, or both.

I've used them for three years. Their pricing is high and their service is excellent so I decided it was worth it.
